IMPORTANT: The exact numbers I came up with at the end (Joker 5 and the exact seed ranges) only necessarily apply to the particular emulator and disc read settings I was using in the video. Even changing the disc read settings on DuckStation significantly changed those numbers. Much more testing needs to be done to determine the viability of any strategy like the one demonstrated here on a real PSX or PS2 console and the windows that would be used for it.
We already know what would be necessary to control though: more battle RNG. The luck stat is controlled by the RNG for Cloud leveling from 6 to 7, which is based on the Battle RNG at the end of the first battle on the train platform. How this RNG progresses is mostly based on the length of the battle, which is highly influenced by the starting ATBs,which are determined by the lowest few RNG indexes, i.e. the hardest to manipulate, as they change every 1, 2, 4, or 8 frames (at 60fps, whereas you can only enter a battle with a resolution of 30fps frames). The harder thing to control, or to even predict, is Joker, since that changes for every frame of every battle you've been in, and save going into your footage and frame-counting every battle (which isnt even enough oftentimes), you're not going to be able to predict that unless you have some control or prediction of every battle on the way, which for the same reason of initial ATB you do not.
