Great to see Chris Ware getting some love, I plan on getting vol 3 of Acme. There is a great looking Paul Pope book this month as well.
Just saw that myself!!!!
Love this fella! Love how local you are! Thanks for all the new info! Keen to drop by soon!
Please do! We are even better in person!
One of your first 100 subscribers here, excited to see the channel continue to grow!
An OG! That's why we had to make people post a comment, to make sure the original 100 still exist!
The cart reviews are great, nice way of finding out about a book or two that may have flown under your radar and it’s interesting to see what you guys like.
Thanks! they are are fav videos to do!
The rapport between you two is fantastic. Doughboys esque.
There is no finer feeling than knowing you have pissed off your best friend!
Thoroughly enjoying these videos, guys!
You are very welcome!
Really enjoying these regular videos. Picked up my book club copy of Die today, keen to crack into it later tonight.
thanks! we just filmed the next book club and I reckon it’s the best selection so far
Really enjoying these videos, nice production! Thanks for sharing your cart. Intrigued by the Asterix choice this month… will check it out…
Hope it is not just pin ups by the extra creators and we get some quality stories!
Love that you guys have started doing these insider videos lately! Quality is impressive and it's very helpful to learn more about series' I may not have considered getting into previously. Thanks for putting these out. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks man! These comments really help warm Remy’s cold cold heart.
Love these videos, they shine a light on some books i mightve glossed over each month. I totally missed that Charles Burns book somehow, in the cart now. Sick Lagwagon shirt as well Remy
What’s a lagwagon?
I’m digging the channel guys, got some great horror recommendations!
Thanks! Remy likes a good scare!
Love the videos guys, appreciate the banter and genuine reaction to each other's choices each month.
Thanks! There is so much good stuff out there so why buy bad?
Loving this channel so far! most excited for Last Halloween
Thanks!
Donald Duck as Thor? ...There really is some interesting things in Marvel comics sometimes lol... I don't know that we can throw all that shade on manga with this lol
i mean, Thor's also been a frog, so a duck isn't as much of a stretch - at least ducks are warm-blooded.
Hahah! Touché!
I think if you want good Disney comics, Fantagraphics is a better publisher to look at than Marvel.
Loving the videos fellas! They make my day every time I watch them. Got caught watching your book club video in class the other day and it was more entertaining than exam study.
Thanks! Should have played it for the class!
Great watch, love the honest takes
Thanks!
Loving the what's in our carts videos, Seen a few I want to grab.
thanks!
Just found your channel. Thanks for the great recommendations
Welcome!
I can’t wait to share my Nicola S it story with you next time in the shop. Always I came to comic con in 2005 from Adelaide to meet Geoff Johns and Phil Jimenez. They signed about 100 comics for me.
I wanna know!
You know how you have those childhood regrets? One of mine was getting rid of all my Asterix books 😢 I obsessed over Asterix as a young teenager (I'm 43 now). I was surprised to see Asterix books in the shop a few months back. I naively thought Asterix was primarily a European thing (I'm originally from the UK). It's so awesome to see something new and different being released and making it to your cart! I'll have to pick that up.
I may be wrong but it is still the best selling comic ever year. It’s either that or dog man!
Hey guys, I'm backtracking reviews and just want to say I'm liking the mix of cart reviews and unboxings. I had no idea of the Asterix release, actually keen as haha
Thanks!!!!
I was sitting in the fence with Asterix but you may have talked me into it.
Could turn out to just be an artist showcase but that will still look good on a coffee table I guess!
@@comicsetc5788 ok now you’ve talked me out of it 😂
Love the show guys, keep it up!
We will!
keep up the good work guys love my arvo comic video for the week
Thanks! We LOVE doing these so it feels good to see you guys love them too!
Thanks for the video fellas 🤘🔥👍
Our pleasure!
Hard Travelling Heroes hasn't aged well.
And I still have the Final Crisis issue signed by Geoff and Phil!
I remember how much the guys thought dreamworld sucked! That’s my most vivid memory of our con weekend!
Gotham By gaslight after issue one is very exciting, cool to see I'm not the only one who thought so 😂
I mean, the covers are nice!
Daniel Warren Johnson has got another new book listed at Image that you need to mention
WHAT! How did we miss it!
DSTLRY is a fascinating experiment, gonna be interesting to see if they flourish long-term and become as big as Image or BOOM, though the different sized dimensions of single issues is an eyebrow raiser. Somna is written by Becky Cloonan who was one of the co-writer's on the recent Batgirls series (which my Discord Comic Club is covering the first trade of in September). I'm personally waiting for the trade release of Spectregraph from DSTLRY's backlog - Christian Ward's art is phenomenal and the cover of Issue 1 thematically matches his Batman: City of Madness mini-series. Is also written by aforementioned James Tynion IV.
We got the first HC in this week and it is nicer than I expected it to be… worth the price tag? Still too expensive if you ask me
@@comicsetc5788I love the bande dessinée size. DSTLRY is partially owned by Delcourt, which handles publication of their books in France. It's clearly a market they want to crack into like DC has with their black label books.
Very cool of King's comics to commission those custom covers, I'll have to check them out!
They have released the artwork so you can get the covers over at direct.... BUT... Support kings! They are great!
Forward and onward towards the 500, guys!
Getting there!
Oof, I definitely feel called out about Blood Hunt, but I enjoyed it quite a bit! Core is currently sitting at 92 on League of Comic Geeks, they normally hate it when they think something is a cash grab so that's a good sign. Brave of you if you don't like Vampires though.
This month I am keen for: Godzilla: Skate or Die #4, Wolverine: Revenge - Red Band, Greg Smallwood is doing Batman the Barbarian so my hopes are sky high for the art. Also the Elmer Fudd / Batman Noir special, which I am sure will be awesome.
Also glad to be finished collecting Absolute Power. Not that it's bad, but it felt like Blood Hunt was finishing up at Marvel and then it was straight in to Absolute power at DC so my cart was out of control since march. Not really as bad as either of yours though.
i grabbed most of the tie-in X-one-shots that were part of Blood Hunt and am just ignoring the rest. Absolute Power from what i've read so far, feels like one of DC's better crossover events in a long time (maybe i just like that it isn't rebooting the whole universe's continuity), though i have mixed feelings about it imperiling characters i like reading about like Dreamer and Jay Nakamura.
You and a few others actually! But I won't blame you, I will blame hype!
i was introduced to James Tynion IV through his Detective Comics run at the beginning of DC Rebirth. He properly re-introduced both Steph Brown & Cass Cain to the DC Universe, and he fixed the butchering of Tim Drake that occurred with the New 52 reboot. I love every iteration of Tim, especially the current and pre-2011 ones, but the 2011 New 52 reboot... i still feel anger at how badly they misunderstood that version of the character. Tynion gave me hope Tim Drake could be written well again.
His Batman was good till crossovers killed it….
love the store and the videos keep up the good work. Was wondering though if there is any way to see page count on the website?
Thanks! Not that I know of…. I don’t even know how to get the info for ourselves!
Well done 👍
It’s time I get a second job so I can buy more comics.
Go for it!
I never read a Marvel Zombies, could be time to start
Just read the original 2 stories by Kirkman - The guy who created Walking Dead. The rest are all over the shop...
@@comicsetc5788 thanks for the tip, I’ll check them out
Dark Web James really?!!
Remy you need to take James temperature😅
Look, it was made more me. Inferno AND Ben Reilly? It’s the best of the 80s meets the best of the 90s!
I'm looking forward to superman house of brainiac, dc's finest wonder woman origins and omens, fantastic four vol 4 by north and blood hunt.
How has the North run on FF been?
Beep Bop Boop, I am not a robot. Promise 🤖. Keep up the good work gents
Roger Roger!
Great as always!!!
You're the best!
You guys are hilarious
Thanks!
Ive been tempted by alien and predator comics, but every time I look them and the novels up they seem like one extreme of either "this is fantastic why isnt this in the films" or "this makes no sense at all, why are all the characters behaving like this". Then again, the films have the same kind of track record so ehhhhhh
Look, you never know. They are all owned by the same money grubbing corporation now so anything could happen!
I have to say, Blood hunt wasn't that great. It kind of fell into the trap of having the more interesting thigns happen in the tie ins, which makes sense, but the main book is than gutted of most of the story. If that makes sense. Like Empyre that event.
Does Blood Hunt make sense IF you don't read the extra issues?
@@comicsetc5788 totally. It does that thing where a character will show up and say “dude, I just had a wicked fight with x” with a citation “what are they talking about? Check out x title for the full story. It’s just a pet peeve of mine.
Eye A.M. knot aye bowt.
That's what a robot would say.....
Bleep blort. I am not a bot.
hahahaahaha! Affirmative!@
hi dr nick
I'll do Krusty next month!
I won't accept the manga slander... 🥲
PROVE ME WRONG! (Actually, that may be a good video. Remy can convince me on his favs!)
