Those are the most of beautiful sisterlocks I’ve seen!!
🥰you’re so kind - thank you’
Hi. I'm 12 years in with my locs. Started with SL's, combined to create larger locs.
My loc goal was butt length. Once I reached that I was over it. 😂
Plus I have a small neck and I was really feeling the weight.
After I cut to above my shoulder blades I felt sooooo much of the weight gone.
Now, my sweet spot is right at the bottom of my shoulder blades. I still have long locs but at a healthy weight as well.😉
Yeah I think that might be my sweet spot too. I just need to get the nerve to do the big cut lol
I LOVE THIS. PLEASE do more simple styles. You saved me. YES
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! What kind of styles would you want to see? Braid out, work styles? Let me know...
Love your beautiful locks!!! I have Sisterlocks but a bit larger and I do heatless styles all the time. I like to use homemade DMSO, fresh aloe juice, collidal silver and organic rose oil as my dial moisturizer . For curls, I like to do bantu knots, pin curls with small alligator like clips or the pipe cleaners for beautiful curls. DMSO hairspray videos can be found on youtube search. It has so many beneficial properties for the entire body.
Thanks Christine and thanks for the info on DMSO!
You are my sign to get me some sisterlocks installed. I have my first consultation this Sunday!
Oh girl that is amazing 👏🏾 😍. Let me know how it goes!!!
This is my first hair tutorial video. I hope you enjoy it! Please subscribe and let me know what other types of videos you would like to see!
Beautiful hair, thanks for sharing how you curl--I'm going to try this method..my SLs don't hold curls well. I'll be 7 years in Sept. and I saw you recently celebrated 7 years! Wishing you continued health and prosperity!
6.5 years that's amazing! Have you tried a holding product to help keep the curl?
Wow! Gorgeous!
Thank you💜
I'd love to see what the braid version looks like.... your locs are beautiful.... I've started following you on IG ❣
Oh thanks Jac! I’ll definitely do one with the braids soon.
Thanks for following!
😍😍😍 Thank you for sharing 💋💋. I'm going to do this tonight (if I can sleep😂) or tomorrow morning!! I have a date with my husband and plan to look🔥🔥🔥💋
Yeessss! I love it! Let me know how it goes!
You’re an answer to my prayer. I do the same exact number, but braids that don’t start at the scalp (no wonder the sections and entire head was thin).
Thank you, thank you 💕
Aw thanks girl! I'm glad the tips helped! Let me know hownit goes for you!
I remember china bump hairstyle. Throw back memory😊 you have beautiful hair and I love to learn thanks girl😘stay beautiful
Oh yeah, I used to rock my China bumps all the time!!! Thanks for tuning in girl!

Thanks James! Glad you liked it.
Love those bands. I get them from target. Didn't know amazon had them! Great for natural hair and locs
Absolutely! I love how they don't loose their stretch either!
Thanks my hair is shoulder length and I always wear it straight and now I want to give it some waves curls going to try this.
Yeah, it's great to shake it up sometimes. Let me know how it goes!
Sickening. Ugh. So gorgeous 🤎 thanks for sharing with us.
Your too funny - thanks Saii!
Lottabody setting lotion. Jeesh memories! Definitely blue
That's it! That's the name! Thanks hun!
I have my sisterlocks three months now an I love it
Congrats girl! 💜
Thank you so much for this long video; I love them. Your hair is amazing! If you ever decide to do a Q&A video, could you please address the following questions:
When did you start using products after you got your sisterlocks? What products, if any, did you use?
Have you ever thought of doing your own retightenings?
You said you have two daughters. Did you have your sisterlocks while pregnant? Did you experience postpartum shedding?
Have you lost any locks?
Have you had any issues with build-up?
Are your daughters locked?
How long does it take for your hair to dry?
You said you have a few greys. Do you or have you considered dying your hair?
Do you use the sisterlock shampoo?
I'm very interested! Thank you!
Lol I wasn't sure if it was way too long - so thanks for the feedback babe! Great questions and great idea! I will totally do a Q&A video this month and be sure to answer your questions.
@@NyaPlusLife thank you 😊
Love your hair! I immediately hit subscribe even though I'm watching on mute with my baby in my lap. My Sisterlocks are much shorter but I'll be watching your videos to keep me hopeful for the future. Take care!
Hahaha love it! Thanks for joining the Tribe Joy! Your shorter locks look beautiful hun.
How long have you been locked?
@@NyaPlusLife thank you! I've been locked for a little over one year. I started with six inches of hair and now my locs are touching my shoulders. I post regularly about my Sisterlocks on my channel but I also really enjoy watching the journeys of my fellow bloggers 😊
That's awesome! I'll check out your channel!
@@NyaPlusLife thank you Nya!
Looks great! I really prefer the bigger curls but I can't get them to stay for more than a day or 2.
Try tying your hair up on a lose ponytail at the top of your head, then pot your loose bonnets on so you protect, but don't flatten your curls
Loving your sisterlocks!!! Pretty! I'm 7 months locked and looking forward to more gore growth..
Thanks for watching! Congrats on 7 months! How are you doingbwith your baby locs?
love how you hair look it is beautiful 😍
Aww thanks Jenny! 💜
Love your video. Where did you get your hair ties from? You mentioned that you would leave a link but I did not see it.
Hey Gwen! You're right I forgot to put the link. I just added it to the video description. Here is the link girl! amzn.to/3vqENFv
Simply gorgeous 😍And that color and shine🤩 Love it. Do you know what your hair type/texture was before you locked it?
Thanks sis! My hair is 4C, and a little in the softer side.
Beautiful 😍
Thanks Necol!
I’m definitely going to try your tip on twisting my hair at the roots to get fuller curls 🤩
You totally should and don’t forget to bring in small pieces as you go.
I call them china bumps too, I am Jamaican, I never heard of bantu knots until social media lol
I keep mine in a bun especially when it’s hot and I work out a lot and hair on my neck is a no no
Yup your so right! I hate having my hair on my back too when I'm working out.
Love this!! Do you have the small medium or large sized sister locks?
Thanks hun! My lock size is small - small
@@NyaPlusLife Thank you for your response! I'm going to be getting mine soon and I think the size you have is perfect! 🥰
Honestly I've never regretted this size. It's easy to work with and do styles with. The only con to consider is it takes longer to retight and will cost a bit more for install.
@@NyaPlusLife I understand, and from the looks of it, it's all worth it! 🙂 I do my own mini braids right now which can sometimes take up to three days, so im pretty used to long hair days lol Hopefully I can learn how to retighten sisterlocks pretty quickly on my own.
I think it's definitely worth it. I know there's a course you can take to learn to retighten them your self. I looked into it like 2/3 years ago but kind of lost track of it. I think people were charging about $300 or so.
Hi there! Your sisterlocs are so beautiful! how many do you have? As far as neck pain, I would evaluate how you're doing a few things: 1st: is the bulkiness of the bonnet + you hair interrupting how your lay down to sleep? I switched to a long silk scarf so I can let my hair fly free without a weird bulge in the back or at the top. 2nd: how do you wear your locks during the day? I find if I always have them to one side I hold my head weirdly causing neck stiffness. Also, lots of buns can concentrate the weight of your hair IMO. 3rd: when you wake up, do you stretch? I try to invert for about a 20 count to allow my muscles to relax and vertebrae to uncompress. If you work from home or on a computer all day, it might not be your hair at all. Just looking down at the screens all day (or reading) can cause neck pain. Just some thoughts!! good luck :)
Hey Sis! Thank you for all the suggestions. I think your right it might. I actually think it's a combination of the bonnet, work and not stretching.
In terms of my lock count I have actually never counted them. You are only the 2nd person to ever ask me. I'm going to do a count soon though. I think it would be cool to see.
@@NyaPlusLife it would be cool! I predict a 1000. To tho other comment, working on the computer/laptop all the time can wreak havoc but stretching definitely helps. Specifically neck and back stretches
1000? I was thinking like....800 maybe? My husband guessed 720 today. So you may be close. Ill count this week and we'll see how close we all are. It looks like you have locs too. Do you?
Yep I have locs. I have roughly 507 micros that I installed myself. I just couldn’t stomach the 1100$ price tag to have a pro do it. I’ve had them for about 4 years now. Definitely made some mistakes along the way but my hair is still thriving. I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. However, it’s a blessing to find someone else to to them from time to time lol
I always twist my SLs , never braid because it creates more tension.
You are beautiful and your locs!!!! What is the name of the godess growth you are using?
It's actually called goddess growth oil and it is made by a small business owner here in Toronto
How many locs do you have?
I'm not sure... can you believe I have never counted? Lol
Beautiful
Thank you!
You’re doing a beautiful beautiful job . How long you been loc
Thanks hun, it's been almost 8 years now
🤗
i have sisterlocks
You can make those hair ties by cutting up your girl’s tights when they get holes or too small for them.
Great idea Cree! Love it!
You do know that oil and water doesn't mix right?
Yes your are absolutely right, just sharing the combination has worked for my hair for about 10 years. Everyone’s hair is different though and people need to find what works best for them.
