    Hi. I'm 12 years in with my locs. Started with SL's, combined to create larger locs.
    My loc goal was butt length. Once I reached that I was over it. 😂
    Plus I have a small neck and I was really feeling the weight.
    After I cut to above my shoulder blades I felt sooooo much of the weight gone.
    Now, my sweet spot is right at the bottom of my shoulder blades. I still have long locs but at a healthy weight as well.😉

    Love your beautiful locks!!! I have Sisterlocks but a bit larger and I do heatless styles all the time. I like to use homemade DMSO, fresh aloe juice, collidal silver and organic rose oil as my dial moisturizer . For curls, I like to do bantu knots, pin curls with small alligator like clips or the pipe cleaners for beautiful curls. DMSO hairspray videos can be found on youtube search. It has so many beneficial properties for the entire body.

    Thank you so much for this long video; I love them. Your hair is amazing! If you ever decide to do a Q&A video, could you please address the following questions:
    When did you start using products after you got your sisterlocks? What products, if any, did you use?
    Have you ever thought of doing your own retightenings?
    You said you have two daughters. Did you have your sisterlocks while pregnant? Did you experience postpartum shedding?
    Have you lost any locks?
    Have you had any issues with build-up?
    Are your daughters locked?
    How long does it take for your hair to dry?
    You said you have a few greys. Do you or have you considered dying your hair?
    Do you use the sisterlock shampoo?
    I'm very interested! Thank you!

    • @KeishondraMusic
      @KeishondraMusic 2 года назад +1

      @@NyaPlusLife I understand, and from the looks of it, it's all worth it! 🙂 I do my own mini braids right now which can sometimes take up to three days, so im pretty used to long hair days lol Hopefully I can learn how to retighten sisterlocks pretty quickly on my own.

    • @NyaPlusLife
      @NyaPlusLife  2 года назад +2

      I think it's definitely worth it. I know there's a course you can take to learn to retighten them your self. I looked into it like 2/3 years ago but kind of lost track of it. I think people were charging about $300 or so.

  • @MilahandTheChanges
    @MilahandTheChanges 2 года назад +1

    Hi there! Your sisterlocs are so beautiful! how many do you have? As far as neck pain, I would evaluate how you're doing a few things: 1st: is the bulkiness of the bonnet + you hair interrupting how your lay down to sleep? I switched to a long silk scarf so I can let my hair fly free without a weird bulge in the back or at the top. 2nd: how do you wear your locks during the day? I find if I always have them to one side I hold my head weirdly causing neck stiffness. Also, lots of buns can concentrate the weight of your hair IMO. 3rd: when you wake up, do you stretch? I try to invert for about a 20 count to allow my muscles to relax and vertebrae to uncompress. If you work from home or on a computer all day, it might not be your hair at all. Just looking down at the screens all day (or reading) can cause neck pain. Just some thoughts!! good luck :)

    • @NyaPlusLife
      @NyaPlusLife  2 года назад +1

      Hey Sis! Thank you for all the suggestions. I think your right it might. I actually think it's a combination of the bonnet, work and not stretching.

    • @NyaPlusLife
      @NyaPlusLife  2 года назад +1

      In terms of my lock count I have actually never counted them. You are only the 2nd person to ever ask me. I'm going to do a count soon though. I think it would be cool to see.

    • @MilahandTheChanges
      @MilahandTheChanges 2 года назад +1

      @@NyaPlusLife it would be cool! I predict a 1000. To tho other comment, working on the computer/laptop all the time can wreak havoc but stretching definitely helps. Specifically neck and back stretches

    • @NyaPlusLife
      @NyaPlusLife  2 года назад +1

      1000? I was thinking like....800 maybe? My husband guessed 720 today. So you may be close. Ill count this week and we'll see how close we all are. It looks like you have locs too. Do you?

    • @MilahandTheChanges
      @MilahandTheChanges 2 года назад +1

      Yep I have locs. I have roughly 507 micros that I installed myself. I just couldn’t stomach the 1100$ price tag to have a pro do it. I’ve had them for about 4 years now. Definitely made some mistakes along the way but my hair is still thriving. I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. However, it’s a blessing to find someone else to to them from time to time lol
