    I have watched Mark Crilley's videos for a long time, but never I knew how he looked. To be honest, I always thought he was a young less than 30 years old artist.
    But boy, after watching this whole 3 part interview, I must say, my thoughts about him has changed so much, and he has transformed in to my number one inspiration, which before that was Miyazaki.
    Thank you so much for making this video and getting us to know Mark Crilley and his history.

  • @MTmerm

    It's just so much harder to a manga artist because you don't just write a story, you have to draw it at he same time.
    I hope I'll be as good as you some day Crilly and be able to write my own manga books!

    • @thesaltybeard1793
      @thesaltybeard1793 7 лет назад

      It's easier in other aspects. You get to draw it, show it, instead of find a subtle way to...indicate it...through words. It cuts out a lot of wordiness, and instead of describing the setting, you can just show it.

I really loved learning about Crilley's life and hearing his advice, and it's likely that never would have happened if it weren't for you. Not only that, but you asked questions I honestly would have overlooked, and I appreciate how you included the fan's questions at the end.You're the best!

    I've been drawing for years and been subscribed to Mark's VERY useful channel for quite a while. Whenever I get stuck on certain things, generally just looking through and viewing a few videos can help me get unstuck. His tips on getting published were especially interesting to me; and it's nice to see another artist who believes that it isn't the tools themselves (pencils etc hello) but your comfort with them that can really impact and show in your productivity and art. ty very much for (c)

Mark Crilley, 1 man out of 7 billion odds... made it into the industry. Which means... every one of us has a chance. We just have to put dedication and passion into it.

    Mark Crilley, you're another inspiration source from those artists who also are family guys (like me XD). You, as a group of artists (like Stephen Silver, Aaron Blaise, Will Terry, etc.) had been the moto for cheering me up and schedule myself in order to fulfill my dreams!

    These videos helped me learn how to do studies of authentic manga, which is opening a door for me. All of Mark's advice was good, and I have a good feeling, like maybe if I do the work, this work I do will someday support me. Thanks to cartoonblock for this video, it was truly informative and also is a lot less formal than a lot of other creator-inspired videos on youtube. I felt that I got to know the people involved.

    Thanks for these videos. I watched it all from part 1 to part 3 continuously! The interview was very fresh, never dull, timeless and has very interesting points and topics. It wasn't just Mark taking over the interview but a cooperation between both parties making the interview much more interesting and lively. It was down to earth and it never forced anything from the interview. Nicely done!

I go along with his how-to-draw videos and get attention from all the people who don't bother to draw in their free time. I even get detention in school because I don't finish homework, instead, I determinedly research on manga and chibi art to draw out my natural talent. It's just a thing...
