OMG..I cannot believe I finally got to see what Mr. Crilley looks like, lol. I've always heard him in the videos but to put a face to the voice makes a huge difference, wow :) I feel so honored and lucky to have watched all three parts. Thank you CartoonBlock Big hugs to you guys for making this possible for me. I feel as if I was right there with you guys in each video. I'm truly honored.
thanks for interviewing Mark....by the way you made this interview very exciting and informative ,also the flow of the interview(as mark himself mentioned about his own videos)is very good. 'THANKS FOR UPLOADING'
cartoonblock Yes I must say you did a GREAT job. I mean your interview was informative, very uplifting, and I like how you separated the different parts. GREAT JOB!
I have watched Mark Crilley's videos for a long time, but never I knew how he looked. To be honest, I always thought he was a young less than 30 years old artist. But boy, after watching this whole 3 part interview, I must say, my thoughts about him has changed so much, and he has transformed in to my number one inspiration, which before that was Miyazaki. Thank you so much for making this video and getting us to know Mark Crilley and his history.
Would have to say that Mark Crilley is one of my biggest inspirations and really helped me with the how to draw videos and mastering manga. It's great to see this interview and get some more tips from him.
FanTASTIC interview series, Evan! You brought excellent questions, and even chose some great ones from the viewers. You and Mark are both a joy to virtually hang out with. I hope to see more artist interviews from you in the future!
Thank u for showing the interview u had with Mark Crilley. His advice to have a successful Manga career has light a new fire in me and I will continue to do wat I love and per fill my life long dream, to be one of the best Manga creator ever :)
It's just so much harder to a manga artist because you don't just write a story, you have to draw it at he same time. I hope I'll be as good as you some day Crilly and be able to write my own manga books!
It's easier in other aspects. You get to draw it, show it, instead of find a subtle way to...indicate it...through words. It cuts out a lot of wordiness, and instead of describing the setting, you can just show it.
The only thing better than Mark's drawing is his personality. This is a quality guy who genuinely appreciates what he has and gives back to his fans. Thank you Mark.
Thank you so much for having this show and inviting Mark Crilley to be a guest, and thank you Mark for being so very easy to learn from. All the questions asked are good questions and the answers help me think about how and what I want to continue honing my own skills in drawing.
Thanks, Evan, for putting these interviews together. There's no one that inspires me more than Mr. Mark Crilley, and one day when my work is published, he will receive credit from me in this regard.
Dude, I didn't know you went through all that effort to interview him. I really loved learning about Crilley's life and hearing his advice, and it's likely that never would have happened if it weren't for you. Not only that, but you asked questions I honestly would have overlooked, and I appreciate how you included the fan's questions at the end. You're the best!
Thank you Cartoonblock for for this interview. I wish I had come across it when it first came out. I'm 58 years old and am planning a cartoon series (or one liners at least) and feel that with your subscription I will achieve that goal more easily. I'm going over to Mark's site right now and pay my respects to him. Again Thanks
mark, i am not just a fan of your artwork, but I also admire how you are so sensate and have so much charisma. I really support your job! keep going on, man!
Evan! These were a pretty cool series of interviews. I really admire Mark and it's awesome that you made possible to let me know him in a deeper level. He shared awesome advice and you were an excellent interviewer and producer! Love, Paola.
Brilliant series of interviews. Mark is one of my favourite artists and it's nice to see a video where we actually see his face for a change. Up to now, I could probably have identified him by his hands but now I'd recognise him in the street. Great fun, guys. Thanks.
I've been drawing for years and been subscribed to Mark's VERY useful channel for quite a while. Whenever I get stuck on certain things, generally just looking through and viewing a few videos can help me get unstuck. His tips on getting published were especially interesting to me; and it's nice to see another artist who believes that it isn't the tools themselves (pencils etc hello) but your comfort with them that can really impact and show in your productivity and art. ty very much for (c)
Thank you, it was a great interview. It's not easy to come up with relevant questions and keep it interesting, but you did a great job, and of course Mark had great information to share, even for his fans who have heard much of it before, but it's nice to see it in interview form. Wonderful!
Thanks for these videos. I watched it all from part 1 to part 3 continuously! The interview was very fresh, never dull, timeless and has very interesting points and topics. It wasn't just Mark taking over the interview but a cooperation between both parties making the interview much more interesting and lively. It was down to earth and it never forced anything from the interview. Nicely done! Thanks for uploading this interview of one my inspirations in art! I hope someday I meet Mark in real life. That would be the day! :D
Your such an inspiration to millions of people, my friend you have inspired me and helped myself in my Art! Thank you. As well as you Cartoonblock, your a awesome genuine guy as well! :D You mentioned the best questions thanks!
Great interview. I just finished watching all three. Couldn't take my eyes off of it. I found myself laughing along with you like I was sitting there with you guys. It was a fun and informative set of vlogs. I'm looking forward to Mark's how to draw manga book. Again great interview :D
He has such a good explanation of things, you know, he doesn't just give you one thing he gives you a lot of things, but it's not all boring it sounds short and is helpful.
Thank you, Evan, for spending the time and taking the opportunity to interview with Mark Crilley! It was very inspiring and fun to learn how he got into the art industry and how he was inspired to do his own thing. :)
Really great interview series. Seems like you put a lot of thought into your questions so that Mark's answers gave a great overview of his career with many good tips along the way. Great style too.
I actually enjoyed watching this it becomes in handy even tho I myself wasnt to get my instrument playing out more for others. It seems to be quite the same process as drawing and getting drawings out. Very nice :) thank you for posting this.
Mark Crilley ... another artist who shows that art is universal. Who knows... that someday one of his series/graphic novels will be watched on TV! Mark Crilley, 1 man out of 7 billion odds... made it into the industry. Which means... every one of us has a chance. We just have to put dedication and passion into it.
Hi! Mark Crilley, you're another inspiration source from those artists who also are family guys (like me XD). You, as a group of artists (like Stephen Silver, Aaron Blaise, Will Terry, etc.) had been the moto for cheering me up and schedule myself in order to fulfill my dreams! Thanks a lot for all the experiences and advises you shared in the interviews! God bless you! Have a good one!
Yeah, I grew up taking art lessons. What they taught me was certain tricks and foundations of drawing, but the vast majority of what makes someone a great artist is practice and letting their own style flow spontaneously.
I found MC on RUclips some time ago, great artist.Awesome interview,to learn more about Mr. Crilley is too cool and now I have a new talent to look out for and that is you Evan. Thanks guys.
I found you through Mark Crilley and I'm soooooooooo glad I did. Loving cartoonblock. I was wondering how you became an animator. I'm 30 and back in school chasing my dream, but no one seems to know where the yellow brick road begins. Thanks bunches for the great vids!!!!
These videos helped me learn how to do studies of authentic manga, which is opening a door for me. All of Mark's advice was good, and I have a good feeling, like maybe if I do the work, this work I do will someday support me. Thanks to cartoonblock for this video, it was truly informative and also is a lot less formal than a lot of other creator-inspired videos on youtube. I felt that I got to know the people involved.
@Klebkatt Damn, I just thought of a really good question for Mark. How does he set up a table at a con and what would he recommend setting out and displaying effectively.
Honestly I think we'll keep learning from Mark Crilley for a long time. He really gives some good advice. It's funny to finally be able to put a face on his voice :)

It's great to know that there are authors/artists out there who care about making their pieces safe for all ages. I want my stories and art to be wholesome too. ^_^
Mark, I am a newer subscriber and I've seen a couple of your videos where you were teaching kids in a library , I was wondering if you taught any adult classes ? And also wanted to ask if you did any book tours or signings?
