I love this story. I’m scared. I’m running out of options and it’s honestly time to relocate. Where I live barely has resources and it’s not thriving. I have a cat so being homeless isn’t an option either. I just want to have options and be able to handle my own business without risking my mental health. I started a new job and they treat me so badly and after today I know I should quit
I'm watching this because I too don't have a plan. I have no savings and I know it would be the dumbest decision on the planet but when I tell you how much I just want to just walk out and I just want to see like how does it work out for other people who don't really have a plan. Even if I saved up like a few months of income finding work might not happen that quickly. I know there are certain jobs I could get in less than a month but who wants to work there and the pay is going to be garbage but every time someone says they struggle to find work making anything is better than zero and I know restaurants have such a high turnover rate. If I wanted a job the next day I could find one but I don't want to work in food ever again unless I just have. I'm in desperate need of an immediate income. The only way I will ever go back but I won't. I don't want to work in food again. It's just hell it's hell you get paid so crap and you have to deal with the worst of the population
I completely understand what you’re saying! If your job is making you that miserable and negatively effecting your mental health, is going back to the hospitality industry that bad until you find something else? I’ve learned not all restaurants are bad-you’d be surprised. One of the restaurants I worked at until I found my current job was a new restaurant with a great culture! Or maybe even the hotel side of hospitality usually has open positions, could you see yourself temporarily doing that?
You shouldnt quit unless you have reputable job history and education in which picking up another job that isnt restaurant or retail will want to hire you. This lady had two masters a major and minor involving law and had teaching experience which are both very good valuable qualities to achieve. Shes already a step ahead compared to someone out of grad school who has a theater degree and no job experience or someone who didnt go to college but worked at restaurants retail. I dont know what situation you are in but as someone else said the job market is terrible and very competitive as it is, this youtuber although I know it wasnt easier for her, she definitely has a leg up compared to many many people who are under educated and inexperienced. If you want to be accepted by hired by jobs that are above retail or restaurant just tell them you are working on a degree or going to college or something, thats a good reputable source to add into applications
I did the same thing left the post office after 11 years mailed in my resignation from another county. With little to no savings, backup plan, and lease is over with……but I can say I feel less stressed and anxiety about being at work!

How you doing I'm on the fence with 5 years in... I took off few weeks for mental well being and I feel better we don't realize how stressful work is til you step away.. I never took a vacation in years that added to it.. toxic coworkers....

Love the video. I want to emphasize what you said about saving up money before you decide to quit. Because one thing I know is that nonody is going to pay for your rent or bills lol unless you stay home with your parents then thats different in a way. Not unless your parents are making you pay rent. But having money that will keep you with a roof for about half a year to a year is ideal.

I taught for 5 years and I also quit without a plan or even backup plan. I couldn’t take it anymore. Hardest job I ever had! And I was good at it! Smh

The job market right now is (Terrible)....please do Not quit your job without having at-least a part time job as backup for income.
