Great song. Dynamic lyrics. Great melody line. I can relate to that song. Been there. They capture being in the position of not wanting to hurt the person you are with, yet thru no fault of your own being attracted to another & feeling you can't help it.
Ladies that was very pretty, Loved the Bass, loved the Arpegio guitar chords, Just loved the Harmonies, Yep Plus the Vocals. Nice, Welcome to Auckland NZ 2022
Happy Sunday morning, all! Hope you enjoyed this Joan Armatrading song. If you did, be sure to check out her version! As most people are aware, this past week has been marked by our country and many countries around the world grappling openly with systemic racism in the form of protests and a broad anti-racism movement on social media. Toni and I took this last week to reflect on what we as artists with a platform can do to be part of that struggle. We have a lot of work to do in taking a more active role, but one of the things we're doing right now is donating the Google Adsense revenue for this video to a few inspiring Black-led organizations that are doing great working in uplifting and protecting the rights of the Black community. If you have the means, we encourage you to donate as well---links in the video description above. Coffee cheers, and we'll see you next week!
Good to see you again, missed you. Thank you for this "new" song. I deeply appreciate your enthusiasm and dedication in these crazy times of hate and racism, when others add fuel to the flames...happy sunday morning/evening Toni and Rachelle from Germany😎!
Thank you for taking a public stance! It has been truly inspiring to see you and Toni protesting and helping. As someone who has never lived in the US, it's difficult to understand the situation there. You have truly helped me make sense of it and empathize with black people in America. Beyond that, you have helped me realize that, while no one gets murdered in my country for being of a certain ethnicity, we do have discrimination and I want to contribute to providing a fair society for everyone. Keep up the good work and take care, please!
Hi Rachel and Tony im so sorry i haveent been able to say hi lately iv been cind of sick i missed listening to your music thow lovely experashon of your thawts and feelings dear Rachel your friend allwes DANA xo xo
Brilliant. Saw Joan Armatrading several times over 30 years...last as recently as 2018 in Newcastle. So many of her songs would be great to cover. (“All the way from America...” )
Thanks for this beautiful version of great Joan Armatrading's „Weakness in me“. I'm a fan since the 80's (one of the few in Germany) and happy to hear that she`s not forgotten and still an inspiration for young musicians. Keep going and stay healthy!
Joan was one of my favorites in the late 70's and early 80's. I was able to see her at least a half dozen times live. Very underrated singer-songwriter. Thank you both for this lovely cover.
@Reina love you guys, so relaxing. i have to admit i'm guilty of sometimes not listening to the lyrics, but rather just hear the strings of a guitar and bass. :(
Dear Reina! Whatever happens, take care of yourself and your loved ones. I wish all of us to survive this time of troubles without loss. Know, that your music is loved and listened to here in Russia, and they wish you all the best. Stay safe, pls
Love the new sitting arrangement...Toni no longer blocks you from our view. Thanks for the tunes...it helps make my Sundays better. Need to write a new song...Covid Blues ! Take care you two...stay safe out there LOL
Great job, Reina & Toni! Fine singing and playing, great recording, too. (Reina, I love your 00-15M and that pickup. Something tells me you may be using Martin Monel strings.... I use them on my archtop. :-)
I love this song despite how sad it makes me feel. And on the subject of what you guys are doing regarding the current issues, remind people where much of the music you play comes from.. - I know I am silent usually, but I love you guys and your music.
Holy Smoke! I had no idea what to expect but was floored by the clarity and tone of your voice. Such a great performance. I hope Joan sees it and comments to you!
Reina del cid, as I always love everything you do, I noticed that there was a while without posting. You are missed, for your talent and your music. Here in Brazil, I learned to enjoy your music. If you ever have time, say hi to me, it will be an accomplishment for me. hugs and much success always. Sincerely Bira Cavalcante.
All those months ago when I stumbled across you while I was perusing RUclips, how could I have known that someday, on an ordinary Sunday morning, you’d do this song? Amazing, ladies! Keep on doing what you’re doing, and do more Joan Armatrading!
Thank you for taking a stand. No doubt you have expected some backlash but it seems your fans are decent people. I also noticed that there are quite a few Kiwis among them so please try to fit in a trip to New Zealand next time you are headed South. Both NZ and Australia are well on the way to becoming Covid - free....(and you could visit Hobbiton)
