That stylistic thing you're talking about where he adds the "ah" after some words is actually the original version of the rap. The rap was first written for Tyler's song Drown on his solo album No Phun Intended and that's where he does it. I guess he never got out of the habit lol

When the piano started, after the trumpet intro, at 0:36, I had about five waves of whole body chills and tears started coming out of my eyes. I was reminded, in that second, that I'm sad, lonely, depressed, and all the reasons why... It just hit me and flooded me.

im so lucky i got to see this life in such a small room... miss the old days
I was 15 at the time, it was my first concert and I’ll never forget how special this felt. I got to see them one more time in MN the following year (before they released they were coming back to the rave and tattooed each other). After that they got too popular and I wasn’t able to get tickets fast enough
it's always funny to go to a twenty one pilots concert and see the crowd just standing there awkwardly when they play songs from twenty one pilots or regional at best. gotta get with it
You don't even know how many strange looks I got at their Orlando show for singing SO LOUD to all of the older songs they played. Hahah.
There are always people who don't know the older songs, but I was at this show, there were actually plenty of us who knew those two albums. Even in this video you can hear the crowd cheer when the piano starts. I was pumped when they played this, my favorite song of theirs.
Yeah they got some good editing of this song so you can hear him... I was 3rd row and I could barely hear him. All I heard was the crowd singing along. It was great been to the last 4 concerts in Milwaukee they where at and this was the best one so far.
I dont know how it looked to you but literally everyone in that room was singing or moving. I was there and at a few different points they were stomping their feet and it was shaking the floor. Ive been to quite a few concerts and I have to say this was one of the craziest. I started out third row and ended up very gross and sweaty somewhere in the back. it was great though.

In concert band and mostly any other situation his technique and mouth placement Is wrong, but in this interpretation it's a jazz setting (atleast trumpet wise) and the overblown brassy sound created by his cheeks and technique is great. So jazz trumpet player? Excellent. More formal performer? Absolutely not.

Everything about this performance is so passionate. The trumpet is an amazing addition. The crowd is hooked. Josh hits his drums like crazy, Tyler is singing and rapping from his toes. And the LIGHTS like freaking 01:39 !! yes. Yes. Yeeees. I could link to many more moments tbh.
Also I wish this performance would be longer because it is so amazing. They did a really really really great job. I think this song, as performed here might be my favourite TØP performance. That says a looot.

I just found this today to realize how far Dr. Blum and Twenty One Pilots go back, man was still with MisterWives and then joined the boys for SAI tours years later. Blum is an extremely talented individual.
