I can confirm that the page did originally say Hellbat. I took a screenshot of it. It has since been fixed.
I got a screenshot too lol
Now let them give us Road Caesar and Landcross and we will all be happy. Those 2 combiners really need time too.
29:43 I'm pretty sure it says somewhere it can do exactly what you're describing with the 3 in the air and 3 on the ground.
EDIT: yep, it says this in the section about the stands: "We know you want to show off your figures in all their epic poses, so with 18,000 backers, we will also be able to include 3 display bases. Use the bases to display the jets and recreate the iconic intro shot from the anime. Merge the bases together to create a grandiose support platform for Liokaiser. Bonus: store extra pieces inside the bases to keep your collection looking neat and tidy."
i am fucking psyched for this one. i regret not going for Deathsaurus. I will get myself LioKaiser.
Should have changed Hellbat to HFILbat honestly
Haha, that's a good one!
The weird shoulder hinges on the tanks are almost certainly a cheap and space-saving way to handle the arm part of the vehicle transformation. It looks like you'll press the arms against the torso to fold the connecting hinges into the upper arms, then you simply rotate the arms so the treads face forward. That's why the hinges connect to the center of the torso.
As much as I want this Haslab Liokaiser, I'm not willing to pay $300 for it.
That seems to be a common thing among people’s reaction to the price nice set but a bit high priced
Although trust me when I say that this is the cheapest it could've been
@@Crimson_Crow88 Cheapest it could've been if Hasbro weren't so greedy
That’s ok, just pick it up for $600 down the road.
When you break it down, it's 6 Voyager-sized figures for $50 apiece (or 7 for $42 if they hit the stretch goal), which is indeed a bit pricy. Still, it's HasLab so it's expected.
17:32 to be fair it's a cool concept a combiner takes input from all its parts this guy basically being able to see behind him all because of this is a very funny idea.
Like he's the only combiner who can literally watch his own back.
$300 = $50 each ($43 each if Deathcobra). Vs $35-38 for a retail Voyager. So basically, only $8 more/character than retail. That's not bad at all.
+the pants and accessories
I think this easily could've been 250. 300 just because they could get away with it. This has been the case for every HasLab really, you pack in a bunch of stuff that you're gonna use one time and then it goes back in the box forever. Gotta pay the HasLab tax.
Pretty sure they couldn't get Hellbat because DC has the trademark and has released multiple figures the last couple years
14:55 Looking at this makes me feel that the Breastforce almost don’t need their combined form in battle when they have Jallguar and his ridiculously large missile launcher ready to shoot Star Saber from a mile radius. 😂
Jaruga was always a weird part of Liokaiser. I had to look at the original toy and animation combination. They never show the protruded back Jaruga would've given Liokaiser in his animation model too.
"The Serpentine Spear. During the later years of the Muromachi era, the spear master Henmei Tetsuzan developed a trick spear improving upon the Chinese Ten-Section Staff. It is said to be nearly impossible to control."
By the Minmei Publishing Company, from: "The Road of the Martial Artists of the Warring States."
You called it! Though you were wrong about Deathcobra not being a stretch goal.
DeathCobraaalallalala! I love that Death Cobra can be an arm since in the anime, Death Cobra was supposed to be a member of the team until Hellbat destroyed DeathCobra.
TJ, the stand is modular to the point of being able to show off the aerial members. It’s actually three stands that combine. Would have been nice for it to be 4 stands since by the time they fund, Deathcobra is already part of the pack.
You know, you should make a news roundup sub-series called breaking news or news flash where you talk about these announcements
This might sound wacky, but I won't lie I want liokaiser to be a boss in a transformers game.
Just because the concept of a giant that can have a long range weapon, like a nunchuck whip, sounds kinda sick
Plus the setting of transformers victory. Sounds like a great idea for a game adaption
Reminded of Chris McFeely’s video about Liokaiser, and I can’t help but wonder, could a complete version of that Rescue team combiner from Europe that lacked Guyhawk and Hellbat, be a potential repaint, or if some mad lad will get an extra Liokaiser to try and customize him into that Autobot team?
I am still giddy about the fact that, if this guy gets fully backed, Liokaiser will almost assuredly be THE record-holder of the brand for most characters in a single set, with 12 (14 with Deathcobra and his breast-animal), in my collection, this set will push my Decepticons to outnumber the Autobots.
I would like to see them repaint guyhawk and hellbat (maybe deathcobra) into completely new characters cuz otherwise, I'm not sure who seriously want to form Big Rescue Force
I really need Hasbro to announce either Road Ceaser or Landcross as the next Haslab.
Landcross please.
@@zeronos2844His play value is easily one of the highest in Transformers.
what confuses me the most about this is that people will scream to the high heavens on social media about how its not worth it, how the fake waist is lazy and how the jet modes are lazy which while i understand the price comment the other two just don't make sense since both 3rd party make the jet formers look like guys under jet parts and in the case of iron factory has double the amount of false parts and on some sites cost more than hasbro's and that's before tax. And like I don't mind skeleton combiners I really like them it just feels weird how some despise it when its hasbro but give third parties a pass even when they have a much larger budget to hasbro
Hasbro is worth more than all 3rd parties combined and yet they still need to crowd fund their shit.
After backing the last three. I’m gonna pass on this one. I have nothing against it, I just don’t have as much of an emotional connection to Liokaiser as I did for the past three to justify paying $300 USD for it. For Victory Saber, I haven’t seen Victory, but I do know Star Saber by reputation and absolutely adore his design, so I backed him. I backed Deathsaurus because why wouldn’t I want to pair Star Saber up with his arch nemesis? I backed Omega Prime because I did grow up watching that era of Transformers from the late 90s-early 2000s, and RiD 2001 was one of my favourites at the time. Sadly I missed out on the original Omega Prime, so there’s no way I’m missing out on the even better modern version. But Liokaiser? I know he’s special to a majority of fans, but to me he’s just another combiner, and as such I can’t justify paying that kind of money for him. Don’t get me wrong though, I absolutely hope he gets fully funded and all the tiers unlocked, and I hope he’s everything all of you who are backing him hope he will be, but he’s not for me. Good luck guys!!! I hope he’s great!
14:46 it’s funny. He’s never been knocked off in terms of his g1 toy. It was always a weird ass double dealer missle truck taking his place.
Only one View in 8 seconds for shame TJ for shame
Gotta ask Hasbro why they did the tank boys so raw n dirty. Terrible bot mods, terrible turret. This is why combiners spend so much time in combiner mode, at least all my CW/United ones do.
I plan to back Liokaiser. My second Haslab. So happy the set will include Deathcobra and Cobrabreast (tier 1 will be unlocked, I'm sure). Maybe not 100%, but it doesn't matter.
7 Voyager figures equal $244
7 battle master like figures equal $35
Nunchucks and figure stand equals $20
That equals $299
That’s how I see it at least
Damn it, TJ! I was hoping i could save some money and skip this one because i dont have that much attachment to Victory, but youre selling me on this!
He's hitting at a bad year for me. I've got to get Devastator, because I have never had a complete Devastator. I want that Star Convoy, but I might risk dropping my preorder and hoping for a sale. I was planning to get the arialbots, but I might also pass on them now if I get this. And I've got to get a Switch 2.
It looks interesting for sure!
If I had the income, I'd splurge for it, but all I can get at this moment in time is probably either single figures or that Hearts of Steel 2-pack
Hasbro really should market Haslab more as a made-to-order than a crowdfund. Because a multi-billion dollar company doing a crowdfund looks ridiculous.
Still haven't seen Victory yet. I'm re-watching through all the Transformers series again, and trying to watch ones I didn't see before, but Headmasters is such a slog.
So, not really attached to the characters at all, but it looks cool just as a toy. I'm happy for Victory fans to be getting this.
Dude! Lets go!! I am so excited for this team! Really hoping it reaches the stretch goals and we get Deathcobra!
I'm curious how that shoulder thing will look in person..
25:54 I feel like its well within hasbros right to use engineering from 3rd party companies, like they literally made the characters and they should be able to make good toys of them😭
I was disappointed that hasbro wouldnt make retail version of liokaiser any time soon. This definitely toy that would be made by hasbro for retailers.
I love when my $300 combiner has hollow limbs and exposed ball jointed wrists. :)
This is probably the best Transformers Haslab to date. The amount of things they needed to engineer is phenomenal. Definitely a must get!
Nothing will beat Unicron.
Doesn't liokaiser's shoulders comprise of the nose cones of the jets?
Since Jaruga seems to have a waist joint, it may be possible to turn the waist 180 degrees to better hide the robot in combined form.
Deathcobra needs to have a spot on the chest for a blast effect like those Ironhide and Prowl figures
I like the proportions of the Haslab Liokaiser over Iron Factory, but that's about the only nice thing I can say about it. To claim that Killbison has a Voyager budget is just plain gaslighting, and for $300 there's no excuse for how Jallguar was handled.
Man, I'm beginning to get priced out of the hobby. I barely justified Omega Prime, but I always wanted that toy as a kid. Not sure I can justify 300 dollaridoos for 6-7 voyagers.
It’s a combiner, not 7 random voyagers.
Jaruga/Jallgar looks like a Stunticon
Can't believe they also added Deathcobra
After Liokaiser, but next Road Caesar will be a new mold
Done just backed it first time ever backing a haslab project
Liokaiser would most certainly have more budget for individual releases
Could Big Rescue Force work at retail?
Will you be there?- when the stars align?
liokaiser rules
I'm so frustrated. This looks like it's going to be really cool, but the campaign will be over before anyone gets Omega Prime, and a multinational corporation should not need 18 months to deliver a product.
I understand your frustration but that’s how long these figures take to make even at retail
Yeah we usually see these things revealed at the end of their development (hence why some leaks come as early as 2 years ahead)
@telaviefilms280 Victory Saber and Deathsaurus both took significantly shorter. Obviously, I don't know what might have changed in the production timeline, but if anything, I would think it would get shorter the more experience the team had.
@telaviefilms280 At least a few dozen backers will probably die between when the campaign ends and the toys ship.
TJ, just curious. Would Road Caeser actually be justifiable as a Haslab project? They're the last key Autobots from Victory to not get any new figures, and I'm not sure if they're retail level
Did you forget landcross?
@@АрсенийВасильев-и8ъ Landcross could be a retail thing like Dinoking was due to the toys smaller size
I'm curious on how they'll tackle road caesar so it'll be like the animation model and not look ungraceful like the g1 toy
@@mattr75 Landcross at retail? Seriously?
You do know that each member is waayy more complicated than the Dinoforce, right?
Not only are they robots that turn into vehicles, but each is also capable of combining onto one another [Energon style of "shirt" and "pants"], plus combined gestalt mode. That's a team of 6 guys, each with 5 transformations.
I'd think Road Caesar has a better chance at retail since it's just 3 triple changers, with a brain master gimmick... but given how much the animation cheats with them... They'd probably be a complex leader class at large deluxe'ish size, with such little representation... HasLab or Gen. Selects is likely the only way they'll release.
I just hope we get a proper Dinoking somewhere down the line....
I never seen victory but i want this for some reason
Liokaiser's never been an important character to me, so I'll be picking up the CW one on ebay for cheap :)
They call out each figure as being a voyager. So that's 7 figures at a cost of $35 each.
I count the Breastforce as being three and a half Siege Micromaster two packs. Which were $12 each at the time.
That's $287 total. I don't see where people are getting that this set is too expensive.
You know damn well Hasbro wouldn't sell those combining voyager figures together with the Breastforce members and they'd be sold separately like Soundwave's minions. So don't give me that they would be included in the $35 price. Go look at the picture of Liokaiser standing next to Devastator. Each Liokaiser figure is bigger/bulkier than each Constructicon (even despite the 5.5 inch figure size claim) and has more going on for each combined mode so there wouldn't be enough room in the budget for them anyway. The difference in height is from the pelvis and thigh parts as well as more of Long Haul is used in the torso than Jallguar is height wise. I mean not only does Liokaiser have ankle pivots but Killbison and Drillhorn also have ankle pivots of their own.
Deathcobra being included is great. And they were smart to make it the first tier to unlock.
The spears however I would include in the standard voyager prices as they should be. It seems quite a bit of thought actually went into these parts too.
The stands (plural) are cool I guess. So everyone who keeps saying that it's a shame that there weren't enough stands to display the three jets above the ground vehicles needs to reread the listing.
It clearly states multiple places: "We know you want to show off your figures in all their epic poses, so with 18,000 backers, we will also be able to include 3 display bases. Use the bases to display the jets and recreate the iconic intro shot from the anime. Merge the bases together to create a grandiose support platform for Liokaiser. Bonus: store extra pieces inside the bases to keep your collection looking neat and tidy."
I don't know how it would get done but I would like to have seen Lyzack as another tier unlock. Maybe as her own figure or maybe even as a retool/replacement of Guyhawk not that that would be accurate. Hell, make her a Targetmaster like CW Powerglide or something. Shame we don't have an Energon Starscream mold handy.
Esmeral is another thought but one that would be even more outlandish to include than Lyzack if she wasn't included as a tier for Deathsaurus as it was. It's just seeing Deathcobra makes me want the other two even if they weren't in the show.
Wait I got it! Make new molds G2 Megatron and Starscream...I mean G2 Dreadwing and Smokescreen. Then use those as Esmeral and Lyzack lol. Esmeral as a retool of Megatron and Lyzack as a retool of Starscream. You know, since the Botcon Leozack figure is also used for Lyzack and that was the Energon Starscream mold and that mold looks and works almost exactly like the G2 Starscream mold. And because it would be cool if the two girls of the Victory group could also combine in some way.
The reason why toys of Lyzack and Esmeral haven’t been done is because HasTak doesn’t have the rights to them.
There's no way Killbison has a Voyager budget. I really hope they clean him up because he looks terrible in vehicle mode.
Jank??? How dare you call Predaking Jank?!
My main nitpicking is the combiner head looks a lil small for the body, the gaps by the hands is a lil awkward looking, and for the price the fact that he doesn’t come with his spear weapon is a lil odd. Death cobra being the first tier is a no brainer then having a display stand sure it’s a nice thing to have for display but his weapon being a tier item just doesn’t seem right maybe do a big gun type weapon or some battle effects to display along side the robots/combiner
Kill bison and ramhorn seem a lil clunky the way the shoulders are done look awkward, also deathcobra has some backpack issues
The price is 300 which I think is 50 more than omega prime does feel like a little bit of a stretch I would’ve like to see 260-270.
I literally sold my CW Liokaiser last week for $250.
I hate this thing, I don’t understand why people like it
because people been begging for a liokaiser since Victory Saber. For the most part it looks great but I do have my criticisms about how the team being done
I really hope they make road caeser too
Road Ceasar for next year's haslab?
As Im watching this Im seeing a bunch of tweets about how they could have just release this as a titan or just release all the individual guys in retail.
@@Metadoodles94 Because yeah, they could've released the individual figures at retail.
to be fair they're all hollow like the constructions so they wouldn't be out of place on retail lol
Hope this thing does not fall apart like the MPG Raiden
While I admire the majesty that is this Haslab, I do wish there was more variety in the Haslab line rather than 3 JG1’s and an RID 2001.
Hasbro and takara look like they are changing the way they are doing things and creating higher quality pieces to appeal to 3rd party and masterpiece collectors etc at this time most people with that kind of money are g1rs
Theyl do it when you guys get a bit older I rekon
It actually becomes 4 when you realize that RID2001 was an English dub and the dialogue made it it's own universe, the original version which aired first (Car Robots) is still JG1.
So Omega Prime as God Fire Convoy from Car Robots means it's 4 JG1 Haslabs in a row
Listen we probably won’t get a non-G1 Haslab until at least 2027.
I'm skipping this Haslab. That money is going towards Arialbots and Constructicons
I say this Haslab sucks , it’s so weird and disproportionate, small head, small hands and Skinny limbs , the third party version is better and more proportional, anyone who buys this guy is surly gonna regret it
This is an absolutely gorgeous toy. There's a slight amount of simplicity to the individual members, but acceptable enough to achieve the collective result. Especially with everything each one has to do and has to incorporate, as you said. I hadn't though about just HOW MUCH engineering would be involved before... but this is definitely the only way to do this.
"Hellbat" I think, is the name of an Apokaliptian armor Batman sometimes uses, if I remember right, which has even gotten Funkos and toys, so it may be a copyright thing too.
Between Dinoforce at "retail" and the three Victory Haslabs, it makes me wonder if Road Caesar or Landcross could be in the cards for 2026
I don't think it's fair to say that it couldn't be done as a Titan because the previous Titan combiners were junk, you just had a bunch of designers who didn't want to do combiners in the first place and who were terrified of ratcheting joints, so you got 400%-up undercooked Legends toys at Voyager+ prices in a giftset box. The current team can actually feel shame, and would be far too embarrassed to do something like that. You could absolutely make this for $40 per figure and after seeing some of them that's already a big ask, let alone $60.
@@luminusprime No, $25 per figure, maybe $35 if the Breastforce are included
I just want a reissue of the original toy.
Well, a reissue with improvements would be better. Otherwise, you'll be buying 5 figures and a dust pile of GPS-laden Killbison...
Unless you want a one-legged Liokaiser
I haven’t decided whether I should back this or not, but I kind of want to.
I say back it, but that's me
I’ll back him but I do wanna wait a bit.
@ I might have to.
@@haydenreviewscustomcombos Don't do it. It's not worth it.
Road Caesar when
I see the possibility of Jaruga being partially retooled into Brainmaster Blacker and that leading up to getting Road Caesar in the near future, this is just pure speculation on my part at this point.
this thing looks like garbage compared to the one Iron Factory of this combiner
Devastator is a mix of Voyagers and Deluxes + bits for waist and forearms. Liokaiser is all Voyagets.
They definitely could've done this in retail. One commander set and four voyagers.
Not really. Liokaiser is a Star Saber and Deathsaurus situation where it would be a big figure that only the hardcore fans are likely to buy because the character is tied to Transformers Victory. At retail that's not gonna make it's money back. Plus the simplified engineering from being a retail release would significantly hinder the jets.
@@Megarover I'd say that Liokaiser is way more well known than Magmatron was, and he was released in retail.
@nujevad28 Liokaiser is definitely more well known, but the only reason Magmatron got a new figure at retail was because it was the 40th anniversary.
@@Megarover I highly doubt that being Japanese characters would be deterrents, seeing as how these toys are meant for collectors and not kids. Besides, individual figures at $25 each would be far safer financially for both Hasbro and consumers.
@@Megarover Magmatron’s components also didn’t need individual robot modes.
It's a joke right????? 300$??????? hahahahahahhahha
I wonder if you could use the PayPal option to pay over a period of time instead of all at once.
I am definitely going to back this!
As a Canadian who backed it, yeah I'm excited for this :3
Sad that Haslab Asia is dead, but honestly the proportions of the individual bots kinda sucks. Especially since they're supposed to be voyagers.
Wow, this is such a goddamn disappointment. Probably going to be the first transformers haslab to fail
Three years ago, I conceived a toyline pitch that primarily existed to fill out the rest of the DJD and included the whole of Liokaiser. I didn’t know how viable the Breastforce and their Breastmaster partners were at current Generations budgets, so their inclusion was a bit of wishful thinking on my end. The DJD were already a big ask, them and the Breastforce and their Breastmasters would be laughable.
Seeing HasLab Liokaiser… I’m conflicted. It’s disappointing that Jallguar has to tote around a terribly disguised pelvis in vehicle mode, Leozack looks extremely compromised, and some members of the team look really chintzy for the $300 price. But Liokaiser as a gestalt looks stellar, pretty much everyone but Leozack looks like they’ll at least be a 7/10 at worst, and Deathcobra finally getting his own toy is much appreciated.
Man this sucks , I hate haslabs so much
OK, I so dropped out a the :50 sec mark
Next Time hasbro, make the Combiner project cosy $150 or less.
You won't be getting much for that I'm afraid. Not in this day and age.
The toy deco box set of legacy Menasor cost 200. Keep dreaming.
Once again, a Haslab that should've been a retail release. The fact that it can't stand up straight without a stand (that's somehow the highest tier instead of a standard feature) shows that quality is not their priority.
did you watch the video before commenting?, because thats not true at all
Are you serious?
@@telaviefilms280 Yes, I'm serious
@@asura-astrian9760 Except that it is true, and you're just trying to defend a terrible Hasbro decision
- says a stand is required for the figure
- grey proto shows said figure standing up fine without one
This is not a good looking combiner, get the Iron factory set, it’s better in every way, each bot has 4+ pairs of hands
How is the Iron Factory set better? They're all $50 each, so it's still the same price as the Haslab, more if you include Deathcobra as the 7th figure. They're also all Legends scale. If I'm paying $50 for a transformer, I'd be much happier with a voyager sized one rather than something that's only 3 inches tall. On top of everything else that 3rd party Liokaiser is like 75% faux pieces that just partsform together.
@@nocturnalnathan ^ this.
Not to mention the cost of importing 3rd party stuff to certain countries, which makes buying unofficial crud even more unaffordable. Let alone currency exchange rates...
The combiner looks good. The individual bots look horrible. Lots of hallow parts and horrible vehicle modes. Id call this MEH 🤷♂ the price makes me say Nay
