Something I think is really interesting about Natlan is that despite being known as the nation of war, there are no refugee npcs. Usually, the first thing people will do doing war is evacuate the area. Even when Inazumas borders were closed, there was at least one escapee we could talk to. Its just weird to me how there is so much reference to Resurrection and rebirth in Natlan. Alot of it revolving around the Mare Jivari. Which is where Bennet was found by adventures as a baby......

I really hope Bennett gets some good plot story building in Natlan. I really hope they continue to develop his origin story and tell us more about him and the Mare Jivari. If it's true that the wind doesn't blow there but it did the day Bennett was born and found there that could mean something even bigger than his mysterious circumstances. It's hard to say if he was truly found in Mare Jivari or not. We know characters are unreliable story tellers yet that segment of Bennett's story is told not from the Adventurer who found him's point of view but from a 3rd person narrator like perspective, telling us what happened as if they're an unbiased source of facts rather than hearing about it from a member of the guild.
Writing this before watching the vid, but I do think the lack of info around Natlan is something that will be important and probably has something to do with the wars and fights. Similar to Inazuma but more so. Just talked to Liben and his little spiel about the stars right after talking about Natlan makes me think we’ll get star/sun lore in Natlan.
To me, Liben falling in a hole sounded to me like he fell into the Abyss like Childe did, bc he mentions he never got hungry. The vibes felt very suspicious to me, but I could be waaaayyy off
I think you are wrong about not knowing Egerias Ideal. Focalors mentioned that Egeria, Furina and herself all have the Ideal of Justice with different Aspects. Egerias Aspect is „Existence“ as humans, Focalors Aspect is „Continuation“ of that existence and Furinas Aspect is „Ideal“ as a human.
What I'm actually surprised is that this time around Liben gave us no info about Natlan aside that he really doesn't want to go there. . He was the first one to give us a hint about Inazuma's Sakoku decree besides Zhongli in the story quest, Sumeru's academia state of affairs and Fontaine's unrest about the prophecy. . Instead we got an in-game honkai star rail ad. . (Liben mentions how nice would be to visit other stars, and traveler having the option to tell him he's trying to trailblaze a new trade route)
I saw some people saying Murata is a Japanese name, but I also read that “Mũrata” is a Kikuyu word for a friend. Kikuyu culture is likely to be one of inspirations for Natlan because Wanjiru, a kikuyu name, was mentioned in the Talking Stick lore. Now I'm wondering if Murata, “Friend,” is a title like Raiden Shogun and could be passed down from the previous Archon to the next Archon.
this gives me ideas... the mental image of a childish god that has been stuck in eternal childhood due to constantly reviving, whom keeps their nation in an endless war because it's such a "fun game"... i doubt it's how things will go but it would be a strange and potentially interesting twist. could have some potential what with the flames of war and the flames of passion being intertwined and the whole youth to fiery passion connection yada yada
One question I have: do you think Murata was deleted from Irminsul? I thought of this not only because Vanessa doesn't know who she is but because the pyro ascension material has a reducted name. On top of that, no one has given us any kind of name or mention for the character! Even Liben skipped telling us about Natlan and pondered about worlds beyond ours. (This then leads to us giving a Honkai Star Rail reference, which I have my own thoughts about.) If my thoughts on that are true, then that then leads to a bigger question. If Venti remembers Murata but no one else does, does that make him a descender? 🤔
The redacted name doesn’t mean there was a change in Irminsul. Under Fischl’s character story, her true name “Amy” is redacted, the same way the pyro stone redacts the two letter name. Yet Amy was not removed from the Irminsul, it was an identity Fischl changed.

A half-baked idea here, maybe there are two Pyro archons because you need multiple sides to take part for it to be a war, or two people have the power of the Pyro archon, so that there's a worthy opponent to do battle against. Maybe the losers are revived every time resulting in a perpetual stalemate that Capitano is there to overthrow. Probably wrong and I can't back up the idea with any facts but just a fun idea.
There cant be. The gnosis only picks 1. That theory has already been proven. Makoto had to die for ei to receive the seat and the gnosis. Same with rukkhadevata and egeria. The battle could be between different gods (like deshret), dragon sovereign (like neuvillette) and archon
No probably the role of pyro archon keeps shifting between the various tribes, and the gnosis can be won through battles, probably why Natlan is always at war. We might have to resurrect Murata to put an end to the instable shifts in power. Explains why capitano is in the war too, so he can get the final gnosis.
I can't help but feel like the Fatui are gathering the various gnosis and reviving the previous descender more so than there being a fourth 'real' archon fake-out in a row
I could see the pyro archon actually changing fairly constantly. Like its the nation where the archonship is won through combat and as so is constantly changing
Capitano the Berserker of Khaenri'ah. According to the Berserker lore. He was reborn in flames, vengeance and bloodlust after his homeland was attacked by the Gods. The Berserker ravaged the lands fighting against men, monsters, and he even challenged the gods. Then in a barren and lifeless land he fought a Giant Monster for hours, days, and years. No sleep no nothing. He was finally able to defeat this monster. At the end his face was no longer recognizable the Iron Mask became joined with his flesh. Then, in a fierce battle, his horrifying mask was split into two by his opponent. The cracks of the mask tore apart the flesh that had long stuck to it. When we get the mask it's missing the chin guard. The same chin guard that Capitano is wearing. We know Capitano has Eerily Dark Blue Eyes according to Mika's lore when Varka and the elite force met him. He's clearly not from Natlan. Most likely Khaenri'ah and possibly Mondstadt. So he could be the Berserker of Khaenri'ah or the Bloodstained Knight of Mondstadt (Works for the Abyss) I want to see a fight between the Berserker and Bloodstained Knight so bad. Hardened Fist vs Gigantic Sword.
I feel like its Xblanque, the potential Pyro Sovereign. If Murata is presumably dead then there would be no other vessel to house the seat of the Pyro archon unlike in the case of the 2 Raidens where Beelzebul acquired the seat after Baal's demise. Although I imagine that the Pyro Sovereign wouldn't need the gnosis because they just need the Authority of the Archon's seat and not the gnosis' power just like Neuvilette.
Yes, a Gnosis is not their powers, its just part of one of the descender and not part of the dragon of the region. Since Neuvillette confirmed that he only need the authority of the archon, the gnosis is pointless to him and it confirm that the gnosis is just a tool for Celestia to keep each archon on a leash and have control over teyvat. If Murata is dead, i wonder who or what have the pyro authority of the dragon and how the dragon will get it back.
Doesn’t succession happen automatically? Unless the throne itself is destroyed - the authority of the archon WILL be passed one way or another (to a being that isn’t the sovereign, I’d imagine) Otherwise I don’t think Focalors would’ve had to save up all that indemnitium if Neuvillette would’ve acquired the authority regardless.

something else I'd like to mention: according to a reddit post I read, murata was a mistranslation. according to that post, the last two symbols of the name natlan are identical to murata. those characters used apparantly don't match up with the chinese name of murata in honkai impact. murata, or as the post says would be more accurate, mu-natlan, is apparently only ever used to refer to the people of natlan rather than its archon. the user speculates that the reason they got it so wrong is because the manga was localized when honkai impact 3rd apparently first got a localisation, so they used the other game as a frame of reference and just used the name murata because it reads the same phonetically and due to the connection to fire and red hair. the story implications of this is also that venessa's people didn't forget their archon, they forgot their homeland. anyway, I'd recommend you check it out and judge it for yourself. I don't read chinese so I'm purely going off what they said. I mean no body really expected Nahida (Theresa) to be the archon before Sumeru. Although Himeko is the most obvious choice for an expy most people all assumed Furina to be a Seele exp but we got Sin Mal instead.
@@justincross2212She’s not a Sin Mal expy either, she’s an original character. One of the key things expys have in common with their counterpart is shared VAs in Chinese, and Furina has a different VA from Sin Mal.
I wouldn’t be so sure about Murata being the current archon. The only direct mention of her comes from thousands of years ago, and we know already that Zhongli and Venti are the only originals left. Murata having died and there being a new archon wouldn’t even be that similar to Furina anyways, because the current Pyro Archon would be a real Archon, unlike Furina. In fact, it would potentially give us the first archon that doesn’t have any direct ties to the previous one (Ei is Makoto’s sister, Nahida and Furina were both directly created by their predecessors). On another note, Murata is a Japanese name, so it’s also possible this isn’t the name they’ll go with.
I was thinking Greek mythology too, but while I love Athena, I have something else in mind. I'm sure most people have heard of Oedipus, maybe at least knowing him by the idea of the "Oedipus Complex," when a son has a very close attachment to his mother. Oedipus is a character that sets off a trifecta of plays when he kills his biological father and marries his biological mother, both actions done unknowingly. Many who go through the American school system might know about the third of these plays, "Antigone," which comes as a result of the second play. That second play is about Oedipus's two sons, who both have a claim to the throne. Due to this claim, the two go to war, one of them being deemed a traitor for not being supportive when the other brother became king. The two end up killing each other on the battlefield. I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, but it was the first thing I thought of. There might be some kind of connection here.
Well, in a quick shot before even watch the vid, "Murata is not the archon" gives the same vibe as "Furina is not the archon" in Fontaine which is pretty much the same vibe i had after a while
I like the theory that there is no archon! But rather a revolving seat that is constantly fought for and Capitano is entering that ring of war to win the ultimate prize of victory and the gnosis.
Honestly I dont think it's fake archon thing, just sucession. Something like Ei or Focalors' case : the only mention of Murata is in the manga which took place in vennessa's era, every other mention specifically uses "God of War" or "Pyro Archon". What we have right now is just semantics on top of semantics which is REALLY difficult to get a clearcut answer on.
Yea I dont think theyre doing fake archon/ weak archon/Give power to dragon sovereign to save the land. Nah. Not interested. Hopefully it really is about resurrection and war. A plot similar to inazuma but much improved writing and story telling. Archon is strong, keeps their power. Dragon sovereign helps but ultimately treads their own path forward

Something I'd like to see from genshin theorists are videos explaining the symbolism and reasonings behind characters' constellations and how they are related to said characters.
HYV is certainly weaving aztec lore into Natlan. According to legend the aztecs came from a mythical place called Aztlan, possibly an island, and they were send off by their god on a pilgrimage to fund and build the city of Tenochtitlan in what is now mexico city. The god that send them off on this pilgrimage is Huitzilopochtli, the god of war and god of the sun, who is the son of Coatlicue, mother of gods and empress of resurrection. Natlan will parallel this by having Coatlicue being the sovereign and Huitzilopochtli representing the archon, whoever she is. Thw reason why Venessa didn't know about her is because in the real world, Huitzilopochtli was demonized after the Spanish conquest and he started to be represented by Lucifer in post conquest art and doctrine.
I would consider the same-ideal question an answered one at this point, with an emphatic yes. It's not that the ideal is shared between archons, but that the Sovereign's ideal is controlled by the Archon. We have two sovereigns of confirmed ideals, and both match their Archon, plus Neuvilette does and states a number of things on that premise - gets to Judge the people of Fontaine, and threatens Judgement on Celestia. I thought it had been quite clear - the purpose of the Archons is to occupy the Ideal of the Sovereign, and so they must share it.
I think we should look at fountaine and relate it to Natlan since genshin usually does that so the pyro archon is probably a dragon of some sorts I would say the original sovereign but idk also the sovereigns, also said that the victors will ( I forgot) and the losers will turn to ash

I agree that he intends to resurrect someone but I don't think it's the Pyro archon or any archon. We learned the gnoses contain the remains of the third decender and I think that's who he's going to resurrect once he gets the final one from Natlan. I'm still unsure who the third decender is but currently I'm thinking it's Nibelung after he returned with his "power of darkness(abyss)" we know he almost destroyed the entire world (of the Seven, perhaps the planet as a whole) and they stopped him somehow... so whoever it is, I'm guessing they intend to revive the third decender to fight whatever/whoever remains in Celestia.
You are probably right. The Tsarista wouldn't just want the gnosis to defy Celestia, its to destroy Celestia with their biggest enemy from the start. If Nibelung is really the third descender after he came back from getting Forbidden Knowledge, it would make sense that he is the third one. Celestia killed him and used his dead body/soul to create each gnosis, so at the end the Tsarista will resurrect him and the first war will start all over again. Since Nibelung wasn't strong enough to destroy them, i would imagine that Neuvillette, Pyro Sov will join the fight to win the war they lost thousands of years ago. What i wonder is, what about the twin, Traveler, Raiden, Zhongli, Nahida, Venti, Dain (and other characters), what will they do because its not just a tiny conflict but the fate of the world.
@@blackister4768 I'm thinking they may not have been able to fully kill whomever the Third is, thus the best they could do is divide up their remains and seal the power away similar to the way the archons handle Orobashi and other gods' remains left in Teyvat, just on a grander scale when involving the Third and Celestia. Skirk referred to the gnoses as objects of misfortune for some reason and I doubt it was simply because someone had to die for them to be created. I'm betting the Third's consciousness remains somewhere, similar to - if not one in the same - as The Sinner in his crystal prison, and upon resurrection they'll be more than happy to rekindle The Great War.
@@AshendrisSilvermist Probably, i guess that we need to know more about the Sinner and the the way they did it. Celestia might have killed him temporary, like by splitting his body and soul into different objects to keep him "alive" and under controle because by fully killing him he would have exploded and destroy the entire world. Like when an archon die, they explode because of the power surge (in zhongli quest with the story of the goddess of salt who exploded and Guizhong who needed to be sealed because of the corruption). My only guess for now is, when they defeated Nibelung they needed to act fast by sealing him into multiple objects like i said to prevent the end of the world because his power and the Forbidden Knowledge was too much to stay under controle. IF the Sinner is the soul of Nibelung and the gnosises are his power, i guess the tsarista might want to connect both if she even know about the Sinner at all? Sinner = Soul of Nibelung + Abyssal Forbidden Knowledge power locked in the crystal? Gnosises = Original power of Nibelung splitted into multiple pieces with each element?

I think that we are looking at the wrong direction for the answers to the pyro archon, I think we should look for mesoamerican and African legends, mainly because of the name Tenoch also land of fire and as someone that lives in South America I know that it would be an accurate description.

Ever since 4.2’s conclusion to the Fontaine arch I noticed that the archons and their elements have somehow got links to certain body parts. For example I believe it’s found somewhere that the anemo archon breathed life into the land so I guess Lungs, Zhongli was shown without his eyes in most cutscenes in his god form and the emphasis on giving eyes to Azhdaha and then the role of the hydro archon/dragon being the heart of the primordial sea and connecting all life so possibly the circulatory system? So with the Pyro archons gnosis plus their possible knowledge of resurrection and after the Natlan arch could that then mean when we get to Snezhnaya we’ll see the 3rd descender reborn?
wait thats actually so smart, Id like to add that we all have two eyes, if zhongli repersents one eye then raiden repersents the other (she has a lot of eyes with her skill, her boss, and her statue, etc) but if thats true which body part does nahida repersent?
Also the quote "winner must burn bright and looser turn to ashes" is mainly referring to eternal fire no matter what you do the result would be fire engulfing you is what im getting it from this quote not mainly the looser will die and that's why i think previous pyro archon may have won and shone to brightly that everything around her turned into Ash Considering what the new battlesuit for fu hua is i think Natlan has 2 entities that would be seen as archons but between fire bird (fu hua) and murata, murata will be the pyro archon and fire bird would have the theme of ascension would explain pheonix 's rising to godhood My personal guess is natlan will heavily focus on fire bird and murata not fatui this time around mainly due to celestia and the shade mentioned there is most likely shade of death and murata living a solidarity life would also explains why no one seems to know her and fire bird being the guardian stopping everyone who tried to get in mare jawari not knowing murata resides there And it would also be made clear if mare jawari is the place that came into existence then it is most likely the desolate ground of previous pyro archons remains
OMG what if they are all fighting for their lives? like for some unknown reason if they lose a battle their lives will be in danger?? like how gladiators work? maybe there’s some higher force putting them to fight in an arena like gladiators do and whoever loses will die

Kinda funny how I kinda come up with something similar, but instead of current pyro archon, I believe the current ruler of Natlan is actually the current pyro dragon sovereign. My theory is that the new pyro archon was never born bcs the pyro gnosis turned into ashes along with Murata when she lost the battle with the current pyro dragon sovereign, and by "turning into ashes", it actually is more like they got transferred to the "afterlife" so technically, the gnosis didn't count as being destroyed. Our goal actually would be to actually defeat the pyro dragon sovereign and "resurrect" Murata aka bring her back from this "afterlife" along with her gnosis (or resurrect Murata so she can rematch with the dragon sovereign and defeat it in battle with our aid, dunno), and the secret she'll tell us is information that might be available only in that afterlife such as the real identity of the other descenders esp the third one who's presumingly dead so even if there might not be any info on him/her in the irminsul, can't really say if there won't be any info in the afterlife, and possibly why our sibling isn't considered as one despite him/her fitting majority of criteria that would've qualify him/her as a descender (being supposedly from outside of Teyvat with ambition to bring some form of major change to the world) Just my headcanon theory tho...Like, I just thought since there's so little information about Natlan anywhere in the game up till now and Neuvillette didn't even mention anything about the archon who's supposed to be the most prominent figure in the nation, something none of the other "end of AQ teaser character" do, I just kinda run with the idea of "what if there isn't even the pyro archon in the nation anyway, that's why Neuvillette didn't even mention her bcs who would know if the pyro archon still exists or not when there's no news coming from outside of that nation for so long already...Could be wrong since just amateur takes anyway...
Going back to the slime is connected to the Archons theory, it can also clue in to the feasibility of being reincarnated as when you douse the pyro slime with hydro, it can reignite or "revive" itself without external assistance similar to a phoenix.
Resurrection is a very interesting concept when it comes to Genshin, especially the Archons. Every Archon so far has had themes of death or mentions of death in their story. Venti taking the appearance of his dead companion, Zhongli faking his death, Raiden Makoto's death in the past, Rukkhadevata's Sacrifice, and Focalors literal execution. Each becoming more intense with each Region. Maybe the next quest will have to do with the current Archon actually dying in the beginning of the quest. With the storyline being about their resurrection. That or maybe resurrection will be a method in how the Pyro Archon has avoided death or even Erosion over the years. As erosion is a big issue alot of the Archons (especially the older ones) face.
Your video makes me think of Jean Grey in the X-Men comics. Logan kill Jean Grey and she woke-up again after hundreds of years later. In the X-men movie too she was a Phoenix.
It would be nice to see another ressurection. I have a feeling that one who enters the Leylines and is pulled back out into their old body early on is liable to go mad, which may help explain why Osial upon waking up decided to flood Liyue but was also not sharp-witted enough to try retreating like Beishit did. It would be interesting to see Murata eith a kind of Pheonix gimmick, and it makes me wonder what could ve done for Makoto, The Thunder Bird and uh... agh crap, the big white snake that Ei cut the head off of. If they want to expand on that, Murata no longer being the current Archon could help. At the moment though I really want them to hurry up, finish this Chenyu Vale, give us the last of Fontaine, and prepare us for Natlan. Personally I would've left Chenyu Vale out of the picture, but I won't pick a fight on this occasion. These theories are fun, yet it's hard to make them structured with so little actually known. Like, damn, we could have enemies like the Dragon Riders from Dark Souls 2, you know?
This might just be me looking too into Liben's lines about looking at stars while in Natlan, but I have this small theory about how Murata is Himeko in HSR and that she leaves Teyvat altogether leaving the Gnosis for the Fatui. This is pretty unfounded so I don't blame anyone if they don't believe it or laugh it off.

I don't know if i'm the same as everyone. But i haven't played Genshin for a month now. Ever since i've consumed all of it's Archon and World quest. (I haven't even touched the Story quest yet.). i dont think the resurrection part is about murata. i think its about the third descender, because the fatui should own all 7 gnoses at some point during natlans story. if murata is the current archon or not i dont know. since nahida inherited wisdom as divine ideal, i wouldnt doubt more than one pyro archon could be the god of war. edit: in addition, isnt the dragon sovereign of fire alive anyways? i thought it would be Xbalanque, One Entombed With the Primal Fire, who was quoted with neuvillettes drip marketing. its just an assumption that he is the fire sovereign, but if he is, then he should be alive bc they never quoted a dead entity on these posts before and i dont know why they would change that.

I’ve learned that the Gemstones were hints on what could possibly happen in the story. The Pyro Stone illustrates: “A pilgrimage for a wish; a battle to earn a name… Burnt to cinders for a dream. If the intention yet remains, achieved ---‘s truth he has.” Sovereigns are known to have powers similar to gods, similar to Neuvillette. The Sovereigns’ powers were also taken away by the Heavenly Principles. It is also known that the Pyro Sovereign, Xbalanque, is a male. It’s also known that Natlan is currently in an ongoing war. My theory is that its either that we’ll be helping the Pyro Sovereign gain his power back from the Pyro Archon, or it’s us helping the Pyro Archon to stop the plans of the Pyro Sovereign and his army.
Where does Xbalanque fall within all of this??? Also in reading the talking stick lore. Each warrior had a dragon. 2 names were given for each warrior. Hopefully there will be mounts for dragons IG that would be amazing. Would make natlan unique in that aspect If we can go underwater in fontaine. Then riding dragons in the sky would be amazing for Natlan

my theory is that murata did die, but instead of being resurrected she was reincarnated into a different body, and is keeping her identity a secret (this could be the secret she reveals to the traveler) possibly to fight for her throne again?
I have a feeling that if we can asume that Bennett WAS in fact a baby in the mari javari, that the mari javari is a location of a gods remains. Causing the aformentioned endless flames, and cursing bennett as an infant.

Well, most of the original are dead (as said by Zhongli and Venti). The only exception being Ei, but she was the shadow while Makoto was the public face.
Honestly I don't know why I'm even subscribed. All the theories sound interesting, but I forget them as soon as the video ends. I've been subscribed and watched almost all videos for about a year and a half. My survey answers don't make sense.
My biggest question is why we never see anyone from Natlan. You can find natives of every other country travelling the continent but no one from Natlan.
So basically we wont have any real+strong playable archons. Venti says he is the weakest and Zhongli is retired, they both not using their real power for sure. We pulled for them yet itsnot their max power. Nahida says she is in a very weak situation in story quest and caged for 500 years. Ei is not ruling but Raiden shogun is. The one we pulled is eis robot, not real ei.
I honestly think they didn't make all the sumeru character because they kinda wanted a racism-ish arc between the desert dwellers and the academia. It's heavily implied. Especially because of the border between them.
It's not that Genshin fans can't read, it's just that Hoyo can't serve properly what they cooked. Even the most dedicated theorists need wiki to make sense of the scattered information. Trying to understand the lore without external sources and summaries is nearly impossible. I do read the story quest dialogue and books related to those quests but i give up on reading every single item description. This stuff should have been part of exploration, found on a stone tablet or told by an NPC placed in a relevant location.

Something I think is really interesting about Natlan is that despite being known as the nation of war, there are no refugee npcs. Usually, the first thing people will do doing war is evacuate the area. Even when Inazumas borders were closed, there was at least one escapee we could talk to.

I really hope Bennett gets some good plot story building in Natlan. I really hope they continue to develop his origin story and tell us more about him and the Mare Jivari.
If it's true that the wind doesn't blow there but it did the day Bennett was born and found there that could mean something even bigger than his mysterious circumstances.
It's hard to say if he was truly found in Mare Jivari or not. We know characters are unreliable story tellers yet that segment of Bennett's story is told not from the Adventurer who found him's point of view but from a 3rd person narrator like perspective, telling us what happened as if they're an unbiased source of facts rather than hearing about it from a member of the guild.

Writing this before watching the vid, but I do think the lack of info around Natlan is something that will be important and probably has something to do with the wars and fights. Similar to Inazuma but more so. Just talked to Liben and his little spiel about the stars right after talking about Natlan makes me think we’ll get star/sun lore in Natlan.
To me, Liben falling in a hole sounded to me like he fell into the Abyss like Childe did, bc he mentions he never got hungry. The vibes felt very suspicious to me, but I could be waaaayyy off

I think you are wrong about not knowing Egerias Ideal. Focalors mentioned that Egeria, Furina and herself all have the Ideal of Justice with different Aspects. Egerias Aspect is „Existence“ as humans, Focalors Aspect is „Continuation“ of that existence and Furinas Aspect is „Ideal“ as a human.

I saw some people saying Murata is a Japanese name, but I also read that “Mũrata” is a Kikuyu word for a friend. Kikuyu culture is likely to be one of inspirations for Natlan because Wanjiru, a kikuyu name, was mentioned in the Talking Stick lore. Now I'm wondering if Murata, “Friend,” is a title like Raiden Shogun and could be passed down from the previous Archon to the next Archon.

One question I have: do you think Murata was deleted from Irminsul? I thought of this not only because Vanessa doesn't know who she is but because the pyro ascension material has a reducted name. On top of that, no one has given us any kind of name or mention for the character! Even Liben skipped telling us about Natlan and pondered about worlds beyond ours. (This then leads to us giving a Honkai Star Rail reference, which I have my own thoughts about.) If my thoughts on that are true, then that then leads to a bigger question. If Venti remembers Murata but no one else does, does that make him a descender? 🤔
The redacted name doesn’t mean there was a change in Irminsul. Under Fischl’s character story, her true name “Amy” is redacted, the same way the pyro stone redacts the two letter name. Yet Amy was not removed from the Irminsul, it was an identity Fischl changed.

A half-baked idea here, maybe there are two Pyro archons because you need multiple sides to take part for it to be a war, or two people have the power of the Pyro archon, so that there's a worthy opponent to do battle against. Maybe the losers are revived every time resulting in a perpetual stalemate that Capitano is there to overthrow. Probably wrong and I can't back up the idea with any facts but just a fun idea.

No probably the role of pyro archon keeps shifting between the various tribes, and the gnosis can be won through battles, probably why Natlan is always at war. We might have to resurrect Murata to put an end to the instable shifts in power. Explains why capitano is in the war too, so he can get the final gnosis.

the Iron Mask became joined with his flesh. Then, in a fierce battle, his horrifying mask was split into two by his opponent. The cracks of the mask tore apart the flesh that had long stuck to it. When we get the mask it's missing the chin guard. The same chin guard that Capitano is wearing.
We know Capitano has Eerily Dark Blue Eyes according to Mika's lore when Varka and the elite force met him. He's clearly not from Natlan.

I feel like its Xblanque, the potential Pyro Sovereign. If Murata is presumably dead then there would be no other vessel to house the seat of the Pyro archon unlike in the case of the 2 Raidens where Beelzebul acquired the seat after Baal's demise. Although I imagine that the Pyro Sovereign wouldn't need the gnosis because they just need the Authority of the Archon's seat and not the gnosis' power just like Neuvilette.
Yes, a Gnosis is not their powers, its just part of one of the descender and not part of the dragon of the region.
Since Neuvillette confirmed that he only need the authority of the archon, the gnosis is pointless to him and it confirm that the gnosis is just a tool for Celestia to keep each archon on a leash and have control over teyvat.
If Murata is dead, i wonder who or what have the pyro authority of the dragon and how the dragon will get it back.

something else I'd like to mention: according to a reddit post I read, murata was a mistranslation.
according to that post, the last two symbols of the name natlan are identical to murata. those characters used apparantly don't match up with the chinese name of murata in honkai impact. murata, or as the post says would be more accurate, mu-natlan, is apparently only ever used to refer to the people of natlan rather than its archon.
the user speculates that the reason they got it so wrong is because the manga was localized when honkai impact 3rd apparently first got a localisation, so they used the other game as a frame of reference and just used the name murata because it reads the same phonetically and due to the connection to fire and red hair.
the story implications of this is also that venessa's people didn't forget their archon, they forgot their homeland.
anyway, I'd recommend you check it out and judge it for yourself. I don't read chinese so I'm purely going off what they said. I'd love to link the post but youtube usually doesn't allow links. it's on the genshin lore subreddit, the post's title is "We may be wrong about Natlan and the Pyro Archon" so look that up on the lore subreddit if you wanna read the full thing.

I mean no body really expected Nahida (Theresa) to be the archon before Sumeru. Although Himeko is the most obvious choice for an expy most people all assumed Furina to be a Seele exp but we got Sin Mal instead.
@@justincross2212She’s not a Sin Mal expy either, she’s an original character. One of the key things expys have in common with their counterpart is shared VAs in Chinese, and Furina has a different VA from Sin Mal.
I wouldn’t be so sure about Murata being the current archon. The only direct mention of her comes from thousands of years ago, and we know already that Zhongli and Venti are the only originals left. Murata having died and there being a new archon wouldn’t even be that similar to Furina anyways, because the current Pyro Archon would be a real Archon, unlike Furina. In fact, it would potentially give us the first archon that doesn’t have any direct ties to the previous one (Ei is Makoto’s sister, Nahida and Furina were both directly created by their predecessors).
On another note, Murata is a Japanese name, so it’s also possible this isn’t the name they’ll go with.

I was thinking Greek mythology too, but while I love Athena, I have something else in mind. I'm sure most people have heard of Oedipus, maybe at least knowing him by the idea of the "Oedipus Complex," when a son has a very close attachment to his mother. Oedipus is a character that sets off a trifecta of plays when he kills his biological father and marries his biological mother, both actions done unknowingly. Many who go through the American school system might know about the third of these plays, "Antigone," which comes as a result of the second play. That second play is about Oedipus's two sons, who both have a claim to the throne. Due to this claim, the two go to war, one of them being deemed a traitor for not being supportive when the other brother became king. The two end up killing each other on the battlefield. I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, but it was the first thing I thought of. There might be some kind of connection here.
Well, in a quick shot before even watch the vid, "Murata is not the archon" gives the same vibe as "Furina is not the archon" in Fontaine which is pretty much the same vibe i had after a while
I like the theory that there is no archon! But rather a revolving seat that is constantly fought for and Capitano is entering that ring of war to win the ultimate prize of victory and the gnosis.

Something like Ei or Focalors' case : the only mention of Murata is in the manga which took place in vennessa's era, every other mention specifically uses "God of War" or "Pyro Archon". What we have right now is just semantics on top of semantics which is REALLY difficult to get a clearcut answer on.

Hopefully it really is about resurrection and war. A plot similar to inazuma but much improved writing and story telling. Archon is strong, keeps their power. Dragon sovereign helps but ultimately treads their own path forward

Something I'd like to see from genshin theorists are videos explaining the symbolism and reasonings behind characters' constellations and how they are related to said characters.
HYV is certainly weaving aztec lore into Natlan. According to legend the aztecs came from a mythical place called Aztlan, possibly an island, and they were send off by their god on a pilgrimage to fund and build the city of Tenochtitlan in what is now mexico city.
The god that send them off on this pilgrimage is Huitzilopochtli, the god of war and god of the sun, who is the son of Coatlicue, mother of gods and empress of resurrection.
Natlan will parallel this by having Coatlicue being the sovereign and Huitzilopochtli representing the archon, whoever she is. Thw reason why Venessa didn't know about her is because in the real world, Huitzilopochtli was demonized after the Spanish conquest and he started to be represented by Lucifer in post conquest art and doctrine.
I would consider the same-ideal question an answered one at this point, with an emphatic yes.
It's not that the ideal is shared between archons, but that the Sovereign's ideal is controlled by the Archon. We have two sovereigns of confirmed ideals, and both match their Archon, plus Neuvilette does and states a number of things on that premise - gets to Judge the people of Fontaine, and threatens Judgement on Celestia.
I thought it had been quite clear - the purpose of the Archons is to occupy the Ideal of the Sovereign, and so they must share it.

I agree that he intends to resurrect someone but I don't think it's the Pyro archon or any archon. We learned the gnoses contain the remains of the third decender and I think that's who he's going to resurrect once he gets the final one from Natlan. I'm still unsure who the third decender is but currently I'm thinking it's Nibelung after he returned with his "power of darkness(abyss)" we know he almost destroyed the entire world (of the Seven, perhaps the planet as a whole) and they stopped him somehow... so whoever it is, I'm guessing they intend to revive the third decender to fight whatever/whoever remains in Celestia.
You are probably right. The Tsarista wouldn't just want the gnosis to defy Celestia, its to destroy Celestia with their biggest enemy from the start.
If Nibelung is really the third descender after he came back from getting Forbidden Knowledge, it would make sense that he is the third one. Celestia killed him and used his dead body/soul to create each gnosis, so at the end the Tsarista will resurrect him and the first war will start all over again.
Since Nibelung wasn't strong enough to destroy them, i would imagine that Neuvillette, Pyro Sov will join the fight to win the war they lost thousands of years ago. What i wonder is, what about the twin, Traveler, Raiden, Zhongli, Nahida, Venti, Dain (and other characters), what will they do because its not just a tiny conflict but the fate of the world.
@@blackister4768 I'm thinking they may not have been able to fully kill whomever the Third is, thus the best they could do is divide up their remains and seal the power away similar to the way the archons handle Orobashi and other gods' remains left in Teyvat, just on a grander scale when involving the Third and Celestia.
Skirk referred to the gnoses as objects of misfortune for some reason and I doubt it was simply because someone had to die for them to be created. I'm betting the Third's consciousness remains somewhere, similar to - if not one in the same - as The Sinner in his crystal prison, and upon resurrection they'll be more than happy to rekindle The Great War.

Celestia might have killed him temporary, like by splitting his body and soul into different objects to keep him "alive" and under controle because by fully killing him he would have exploded and destroy the entire world. Like when an archon die, they explode because of the power surge (in zhongli quest with the story of the goddess of salt who exploded and Guizhong who needed to be sealed because of the corruption).
My only guess for now is, when they defeated Nibelung they needed to act fast by sealing him into multiple objects like i said to prevent the end of the world because his power and the Forbidden Knowledge was too much to stay under controle.
IF the Sinner is the soul of Nibelung and the gnosises are his power, i guess the tsarista might want to connect both if she even know about the Sinner at all?
Sinner = Soul of Nibelung + Abyssal Forbidden Knowledge power locked in the crystal?

I think that we are looking at the wrong direction for the answers to the pyro archon, I think we should look for mesoamerican and African legends, mainly because of the name Tenoch also land of fire and as someone that lives in South America I know that it would be an accurate description.

Ever since 4.2’s conclusion to the Fontaine arch I noticed that the archons and their elements have somehow got links to certain body parts. For example I believe it’s found somewhere that the anemo archon breathed life into the land so I guess Lungs, Zhongli was shown without his eyes in most cutscenes in his god form and the emphasis on giving eyes to Azhdaha and then the role of the hydro archon/dragon being the heart of the primordial sea and connecting all life so possibly the circulatory system? So with the Pyro archons gnosis plus their possible knowledge of resurrection and after the Natlan arch could that then mean when we get to Snezhnaya we’ll see the 3rd descender reborn?

What if murata is the archon but everyone lives in their tiny groups and dont know anything about outside their own little group.
Also the quote "winner must burn bright and looser turn to ashes" is mainly referring to eternal fire no matter what you do the result would be fire engulfing you is what im getting it from this quote not mainly the looser will die and that's why i think previous pyro archon may have won and shone to brightly that everything around her turned into Ash
Considering what the new battlesuit for fu hua is i think Natlan has 2 entities that would be seen as archons but between fire bird (fu hua) and murata, murata will be the pyro archon and fire bird would have the theme of ascension would explain pheonix 's rising to godhood
My personal guess is natlan will heavily focus on fire bird and murata not fatui this time around mainly due to celestia and the shade mentioned there is most likely shade of death and murata living a solidarity life would also explains why no one seems to know her and fire bird being the guardian stopping everyone who tried to get in mare jawari not knowing murata resides there
And it would also be made clear if mare jawari is the place that came into existence then it is most likely the desolate ground of previous pyro archons remains

Kinda funny how I kinda come up with something similar, but instead of current pyro archon, I believe the current ruler of Natlan is actually the current pyro dragon sovereign. My theory is that the new pyro archon was never born bcs the pyro gnosis turned into ashes along with Murata when she lost the battle with the current pyro dragon sovereign, and by "turning into ashes", it actually is more like they got transferred to the "afterlife" so technically, the gnosis didn't count as being destroyed. Our goal actually would be to actually defeat the pyro dragon sovereign and "resurrect" Murata aka bring her back from this "afterlife" along with her gnosis (or resurrect Murata so she can rematch with the dragon sovereign and defeat it in battle with our aid, dunno), and the secret she'll tell us is information that might be available only in that afterlife such as the real identity of the other descenders esp the third one who's presumingly dead so even if there might not be any info on him/her in the irminsul, can't really say if there won't be any info in the afterlife, and possibly why our sibling isn't considered as one despite him/her fitting majority of criteria that would've qualify him/her as a descender (being supposedly from outside of Teyvat with ambition to bring some form of major change to the world)
Just my headcanon theory tho...Like, I just thought since there's so little information about Natlan anywhere in the game up till now and Neuvillette didn't even mention anything about the archon who's supposed to be the most prominent figure in the nation, something none of the other "end of AQ teaser character" do, I just kinda run with the idea of "what if there isn't even the pyro archon in the nation anyway, that's why Neuvillette didn't even mention her bcs who would know if the pyro archon still exists or not when there's no news coming from outside of that nation for so long already...Could be wrong since just amateur takes anyway...
Going back to the slime is connected to the Archons theory, it can also clue in to the feasibility of being reincarnated as when you douse the pyro slime with hydro, it can reignite or "revive" itself without external assistance similar to a phoenix.
Resurrection is a very interesting concept when it comes to Genshin, especially the Archons.
Every Archon so far has had themes of death or mentions of death in their story.
Venti taking the appearance of his dead companion, Zhongli faking his death, Raiden Makoto's death in the past, Rukkhadevata's Sacrifice, and Focalors literal execution. Each becoming more intense with each Region. Maybe the next quest will have to do with the current Archon actually dying in the beginning of the quest. With the storyline being about their resurrection.
That or maybe resurrection will be a method in how the Pyro Archon has avoided death or even Erosion over the years. As erosion is a big issue alot of the Archons (especially the older ones) face.

I have a feeling that one who enters the Leylines and is pulled back out into their old body early on is liable to go mad, which may help explain why Osial upon waking up decided to flood Liyue but was also not sharp-witted enough to try retreating like Beishit did. It would be interesting to see Murata eith a kind of Pheonix gimmick, and it makes me wonder what could ve done for Makoto, The Thunder Bird and uh... agh crap, the big white snake that Ei cut the head off of. If they want to expand on that, Murata no longer being the current Archon could help.
At the moment though I really want them to hurry up, finish this Chenyu Vale, give us the last of Fontaine, and prepare us for Natlan. Personally I would've left Chenyu Vale out of the picture, but I won't pick a fight on this occasion. These theories are fun, yet it's hard to make them structured with so little actually known.

This might just be me looking too into Liben's lines about looking at stars while in Natlan, but I have this small theory about how Murata is Himeko in HSR and that she leaves Teyvat altogether leaving the Gnosis for the Fatui. I don't know if i'm the same as everyone. But i haven't played Genshin for a month now. Ever since i've consumed all of it's Archon and World quest. (I haven't even touched the Story quest yet.). That's why watching or listening to Natlan lore always excites me when i return. It gives me something to return to in genshin.

i dont think the resurrection part is about murata. i think its about the third descender, because the fatui should own all 7 gnoses at some point during natlans story. if murata is the current archon or not i dont know. since nahida inherited wisdom as divine ideal, i wouldnt doubt more than one pyro archon could be the god of war.
edit: in addition, isnt the dragon sovereign of fire alive anyways? i thought it would be Xbalanque, One Entombed With the Primal Fire, who was quoted with neuvillettes drip marketing. its just an assumption that he is the fire sovereign, but if he is, then he should be alive bc they never quoted a dead entity on these posts before and i dont know why they would change that.

I’ve learned that the Gemstones were hints on what could possibly happen in the story.

Sovereigns are known to have powers similar to gods, similar to Neuvillette. The Sovereigns’ powers were also taken away by the Heavenly Principles.
It is also known that the Pyro Sovereign, Xbalanque, is a male. It’s also known that Natlan is currently in an ongoing war.
My theory is that its either that we’ll be helping the Pyro Sovereign gain his power back from the Pyro Archon, or it’s us helping the Pyro Archon to stop the plans of the Pyro Sovereign and his army.
Where does Xbalanque fall within all of this??? Also in reading the talking stick lore. Each warrior had a dragon. 2 names were given for each warrior. Hopefully there will be mounts for dragons IG that would be amazing. Would make natlan unique in that aspect

Well, most of the original are dead (as said by Zhongli and Venti). The only exception being Ei, but she was the shadow while Makoto was the public face.

Honestly I don't know why I'm even subscribed. All the theories sound interesting, but I forget them as soon as the video ends. I've been subscribed and watched almost all videos for about a year and a half. My survey answers don't make sense.
My biggest question is why we never see anyone from Natlan. You can find natives of every other country travelling the continent but no one from Natlan.

It's not that Genshin fans can't read, it's just that Hoyo can't serve properly what they cooked. Even the most dedicated theorists need wiki to make sense of the scattered information. Trying to understand the lore without external sources and summaries is nearly impossible.
I do read the story quest dialogue and books related to those quests but i give up on reading every single item description. This stuff should have been part of exploration, found on a stone tablet or told by an NPC placed in a relevant location.
