There is a part at the end of 7 that Aira says, “Let them both rest in peace.” Implies that the daughter has passed as well.

That doesnt imply anything cause Aira obviously doesnt know what happened to her daughter. How would she know if not even Silky knows? No one knows. But it makes sense for her to say it for consolation.

@@teongreen5254 To be blunt - you think two grown men killing a woman or at least beating her to near dear - leaving with a child under their arm is going to result in a child living?

The pacing of this show is actually so good. Episode 7 was really heavy, so they follow it up with this silly, light-hearted slice of life episode where we just get to know and love the characters a little more.

AcroSilk compared auras to a battery, saying they are basically like the essence of life. Acro gave hers to Aira, so now Aira's current aura is almost entirely Acro's aura. This is different from Okarun, whose aura is mixed with Turbo's and can be separated (as we saw Momo pulling it apart). Aira's aura cannot be separated, though, because now Acro's aura and hers are one, allowing her to access Acro's abilities.
Note: In the end, Acro remembers her daughter, which allowed Aira to make the transition. The proof of this is that they both remember her, so she didn't go to the Void as Turbo had mentioned.

In regards to episode 7: A lot of the misconceptions come from cultural side of things, and anime tropes. You got most of it right even in the stress of such a tragic episode. The manga is a bit less artful but more straightforward in how it presents information. Basically It's all bad except for the very end (yes including the child). I'm fairly certain that Aira's empathy shining through managed to save AcroSilky's soul. Visually speaking to reaffirm that is the case. Acro silky when decomposing stopped falling down and floated upwards instead at the end. Oh wow, writing this out has me feeling emotional. WHAT BLACK MAGIC IS THIS EPISODE!?

Someone posted somewhere that she likely died in the late 1980's based off the details in the money she had. So she sat on the spot of her death for decades, slowly losing her memories, up until Aira saw her as a child. Because she had been a ghost for so long and lost her memories, she overwrites her daughter with Aira, and at that moment is when she becomes the evil spirit Acro Silky.

    For Ep.7
1.) let's say sometimes living cost is not friendly for some people. Since we didn't know how long the time passed in that flashback so just think the mother borrowed some money to covered her and her daughter living cost and debts collectors come to take their money back.
2.) the ghost holding on to something that very precious to her but she can't remember what it is so she can't move on to her after life. That why granny said no one can help her but herself, if she can let things go then she can rest in peace.
For this Ep. I'm a bit surprise that you didn't know about Nassie. I thought it was well known in western. And another bit of surprise that you not see the similarity of Aira power right after. 😂

this is when i started really loving Aira. she’s just the funniest character, she’s the protagonist of her own little reality and no one can convince her otherwise. also, the way the laser attack on Momo is animated is a reference to the movie Shin Godzilla! it’s such a neat sequence, very much recommend checking it out at some point

Here is my guess about Episode 7.
It's hard to convey in English translation, but considering that even though Acrobatic Silky used foul language, the tone itself was very elegant, and that she was good at ballet, she must have come from a well-to-do and privileged family.
On the other hand, she was in so much debt that she had to sell herself, which leads me to imagine that the debt was made by her former husband, who either disappeared or ran away, leaving her with the debt.
She worked hard so that her daughter could have a normal life, but she had to dip into money for repayments to buy the red dress as a gift.
We can see she bought the dress after the scene where she pulls a few bills out of the envelope in which she had saved the money, and it is also described that the amount of food is reduced only on her side afterwards, indicating that the dress purchase has made their life difficult.
And as a result, she was unable to pay the agreed-upon repayment amount and the debt collector (no doubt the Yakuza, the Japanese mafia) took her daughter away😢
I love your DanDaDan reactions and insights. It comes across to me that you always speak with respect for this show😊
I am not good at English, so sorry if my writing is strange.

Because of the discussion of episode 7, i will repost this comment i make the last video with some Clarifications because this masterful adaptation focus most on the feelings that in explanations, so i will clarify some stuff from the manga and stated by the author:
    1. Acrobatic Silky need to work three jobs, incluiding as a sex worker, to to support herself and her daughter.
    2. She was a fail Ballerina or probably is imply that she got pregnant before go far in the business.
    3. Tragically is very common in japan when you cant make ends meet people seeks help from Loan sharks, usually from the Yakuza, and when you cant pay what happen to her is a sad reality: they will take anything valuable or in this case take a child for human traffic. The dress is anime only, a great addition to my oppinion, but yeah is very much imply that she take part of the money to buy the dress instead of paying the loan sharks, which make the results a lot more tragic.
    4. Some people get a little confuse of how AS died, but the true is that she kill herlsef. When she realise that she will never get her daugther back she go to the top of a building and do a last dance before jumping. that was that final thump when it cut to black. by the way masterfull dance animation
    5. Sadly or not, depending of how you see it. is very much imply that the daughter die, i dont even want to know when or how, confirm by the fact that in the manga you can see a final panel of Silky and her walking happly to the afterlife. it also reaffirmed by the fact that in Aira final speech she ask for "THEM" to go to a kinder world.
I know a lot of people doesnt need this extra explanation or like the sutelty and ambiguity of not knowing, but i just want to clarify this facts. Honestly if you dont need the clarification its ok because either way the anime deliver without a doubt the best episode of 2024 in animation, music and storytelling.

here is my theory, not about the transformation, but about why Aira was able to see Silky's spirit as a child, first the obvious reasons, she was a child and had just lost her mother, so at that moment that desire allowed her to she did it. for a moment, she could see Silky who wanted to see her daughter, even if it was just a feeling she didn't understand, now if we remember a line from Turbo granny in episode six about balls, she said that someone with balls could gain spiritual abilities , that is, not just anyone who had the balls could obtain any ability, this could happen or not, I think the balls can awaken latent abilities, in Aira's case maybe because she had Silky haunting her for a long time and having seen her before gave her some remnant of skill that only needed a catalyst to awaken, in this case, Okarun's balls

Appreciate the in depth intro and talk and stuff! Some people may wanna just skip to the actual show but I’m here for the listening so it’s all good to me. Said it elsewhere too but I use reactions as background audio so having more to listen on is all good for me. Although ‘background audio’ makes it sound like it’s just some random thing I don’t care about but I do listen to every word!

29:20 The subtitles are, for some reason, inconsistent with how this recurring phrase is translated, but it's the same thing Okarun said back when he first transformed, which is that he's super depressed/a downer when he's in his Turbo Granny mode.

I don't think the exact specifics of the tragedy in ep 7 matter. It's a tragedy. The mother was a gifted dancer, but professional dancing is a hard field to succeed in. Being a single mom is also not easy. She did what she thought she had to for her daughter and the world was cruel. The specifics don't matter. The world is often cruel to people who don't deserve it. That's the tragedy.
