I was planning to make a series on Travel packing, Carnet for international travel (so, say like in India, they don't take away your new camera as they don't have it in there and they thing you trying to sell them), and studio buidling (VR green screen room, virtual production with Unreal Engine - crazy stuffs I am doing lol).
I am planning to upgrade by laptop. I have been PC users for years but planning to give Macbook Pro a try because of the GoPro software. Are you saying this is not the case anymore and PC will get a similar software support in the future? Or in other word if I want to get the most out of my GoPro Max, would you prefer Mac or PC?

The MAX is an amazing starter camera - so you make the right choice. If you took my advices got it in BestBuy - you can return it in 2 weeks if you don't like it lol. But your machine is an amazing spec Ryzen 9 - I am so jealous. Need to get onto the AMD game as well to build a AMD powerhouse with my limited computer knowledge lol
@@hughhou I live in Australia and we don't have BestBuy and by the time shipping was added, international conversion fees and so on, I would have had to wait 3 to 4 weeks for it to arrive and it would have been more expensive. As it stands I caught a $100 off sale from JB Hi-Fi instead. Yeah, I wish I could have got into the Threadripper range but not this time.
Man thanks for amazing videos I have a question... with GoPro max 360 60fps after rendering and opening up in premiere pro it shows all distorted and cuts !!! I didn’t have this problem with 360 5.6k 30fps ..!! Also you are saying using gopro player for pc but on windows pc the 360 form on player dose not showing up so I use gopro max exporter ..
GoPro MAX Exporter does not support 60fps yet .... you should use the GoPro Player on PC. You need to join GoPro beta program and they will send you the beta build (forms.gle/fUTZJoLoFTCYuAsQ8)
Thank you for the tutorial, I have a killing problem for me, I just bought a GoPro max and I have a problem playing the raw footage in GoPro Player, I've already tried on 3 different computers in the playback is laggy, even on the desktop where a have a 32gb ram GeForce Quadro K4200 and Xeon processor it's not playing smoothly. Thank you so much! I just have a large library saving up in the past 10 years as editor - from different projects and paid by clients lol. If you don't have a large collection like I do, I will actually recommend RUclips - there is a huge free library you can sample. There are great DJ sample library pack with amazing EDM kicks, (revert it then you have a raiser) and packs just release by music producer free all over soundcloud as well. You just need to search for it. I also slow thing and pitch thing a lot to reuse my library - as you see here I don't have a parachute opening sound effects - I just use a dirty dubstep kick, pitch it down and add echo and revert it. I was a music producer before all this - so I always in the hunt for free sound. Other RUclipsrs will push sell on epicimid sound or Artlist or something for commission - I don't believe it. The best sound is all over the world free - sound bible, RUclips, your kitchen with a mic. Sorry, have a strong opinion on sound design - I don't like sponsored content from others - especially it is not worth $30 a month lol.
Thanks for the video. So from what I understand, you can't take advantage of the Lanczos resampling with Resolve. It only works w the Adobe plug in? Basically then for the highest quality reframe you need Adobe?
Yes unfortunately. If you want to the best reframe down to pixel level (mostly in the top and bottom of your frames), the new GoPro FX Reframe plugin in Premiere is the best. There are third party plugin also use Lancozos or some version of it which produce amazing quality as OFX plugin - but again, it is not free. I am actually going to do a review soon - it is very powerful for Resolve.
Could you provide a tutorial at a slower pace describing how to use the new features of motion blur and horizontal leveling etc (all the things you mentioned quickly here) in the new GoPro desktop software update?

Yes Resolve can do speed ramp as well and actually a lot more powerful than Premiere. There are ton of tutorial on RUclips already but I will add that in my next tutorial see if I cam come up with 360 related tricks in speed ramp!

Pretty disappointed by the 3k quality. I thought it would look a bit better. Guess you should only zoom in a little when shooting in 3k and not as much compared to the 5.6k on the GoPro Max
CreatorUp gopro suggested to do manual update to fix the common errors for max ( red led won’t turn off after fully charged and freezing while recording) they directed me to the manual update . I just think they are still not very good with software side of the product and they working to fix it
No speed control is possible in any free app or GoPro Player on Mac - you need to do this in Premiere or Resolve by slow down the time of selected clip after reframe as detailed in this video - the last part of the timecode has a step by step process.
Thanks for your great video !! I did the update..And when I use the Max in 360 time-lapse mode using the video mode..the footage is spinning in a panning motion. The camera was not moving when shooting.. I tried on a tripod and just placing it on a table.. same thing.... Anyone else seeing this ?? I assume its a bug in software ?? Thx

Yes or not. You can use just the MAX and use Twixtor to slow it down - as long as you get smooth slow motion in post - you don't need an extra Hero8.

It is coming. Slo mo just released - it usually take GoPro to catch up on mobile app - but desktop it works great now.

Try to turn off stabilization and try again during stitching? I think it is a gyro issue.

Just an update..problem solved.. when you open the 360 video in GoPro play app. You have to turnoff World Lock and Voila it’s fixed !

if you slowdown a 50fps or 60 fps 4 times, then....it's gonna be choppy I guess, tho I like to have multiple choices of slowmo on the camera tho
Yes indeed. 4 time slow motion is common tho in sport action camera. I wish those camera can do 120fps
