I've only seen a few of your pre-show venue tours, but THIS one is UNBELIEVABLE! Thanks so much for making these videos, hope you have a great show tonight, be safe and get outta town before the storm hits!
Wow! Mind blowing mechanics! I'm just imagining having to draw all the blueprints for that complex! 😮 It makes rocket science pale, in comparison. What an amazing place! 🎉
What a fabulous place! The technology that went into the design and facilities to be able to adapt to so many different venues is amazing. I don't know how you're going to top this one Lee! Safe travels.
I watched the seating transformation sequence on YT and it's really something else. It reminded me of a huge glacial calving event, with different rows of seats rising, flipping-over & falling. Thanks to Gary for the 1st class access tour. Hope you all escape the foul weather safely. Thanks Lee !!
Thank you as always for taking us to the most interesting parts of the venues. Just some trivia that you may know is that due to gearing, the large sections can be moved along the tracks with a very small motor. For example, the motor that spins the CN Tower restaurant in Toronto is 3 Hp. Thanks to Gary as well, and hoping that Maureen is well. The two of you have close to hurricane stories, and thoughts to those forever changed due to these storms.
Wow. I've watched a load of these videos now, over your touring of the past few months, and this is simply just the most IMPRESSIVE. Among other things, after watching this a little while ago, I went and watched video of them doing the floor seating flip reconfiguration. I still want to see the stage reconfiguration, to see them change to the "Royal Albert Hall" style setup removing the proscenium. Part of my past involved working building large automated precision industrial machinery, and this is just a whole different level. I mean, we're talking some serious mechanical engineering, controls automation, and civil engineering and architecture all rolled in together. Just the whole design phase must have been insane, then actually building it all. I wonder how much was built in segments and then brought in, and even if a lot of it was built broken up into modules and brought in, putting the whole thing together and getting it set up and running had to be an epic. Just all the detail of positioning and alignment of everything... Beyond all THAT, we can see enough watching this that it's apparent, that if you didn't need to scoot and do soundcheck, you could have easily done another 45 minutes touring the place!

I'm praying for all of Florida right now, including my cousin John and his wife Sue in Hernando with all of their animals. Milton is a beast!!! Ugh!!! 👀🌀🙏❤ Love you, Lee! Be safe out there!!! ❤🙏🤗
0:11 Aha, so Milton is incognito, hanging off the west coast of Florida calling himself "Hugo" ! This magnificent building was designed by architect Barton Myers. The theater is said to be acoustically perfect ! It has a sound rating of the lowest level at which humans can detect sound. 7:53 Brad is looking at you like, "HA! I thought I'd finally found a place to practice way down here in the building where you couldn't find me."
These new theaters have no choice to be multi-purpose/configs and ultra flexible, you have to be creative to keep the building busy all year long, these mechanism to reconfigure the halls are just incredible!!!
I don't know enough superlatives to describe what I just saw. But, I knew a venue would eventually hook you up with a guide. That could not have happened at a better place than this. It's a venue that's also like a kid's transformer toy. And, it floats! Love and Thanks ❤😮❤😮
As one of the world's most acoustically perfect spaces, Steinmetz Hall let's guests enjoy a range of performances-with or without amplification-by local, national and international artists.
@m1nn1s Lol! All that that building can do was a concept overload. And, now I find out it's one of the world's most acoustically perfect places. Did it take a team of geniuses to design that?
It is certainly understandable why Lyle Lovett would not want to cancel this venue. It is those internal chambers with echos that are intriguing and as much as the buildings engineering with compressed air with geared transmission power. Your trip out of Orlando might need its own report.
😮😮 Holy cow!!!! The wild, wacky world of music. You've got Jimmy Buffett busking on the street in Florida at the beginning of his career and then you have this.... For years we have marvelled about how the Lyle Lovett tour just manages to skirt one catastrophe after another. Sounds like climate change catches up to us all....😮😮
(1) Now that’s a performance hall! (2) But when he said a basement, I’m assuming it isn’t a true excavated basement due to the FL water table, but rather it is an on-bedrock-grade basement level with earth raised around from the foundation walls? (3) all the industrial engineering - seems they maybe hired in those folks that do all of the amusement park “hocus-pocus” imagineering??
By the way, I'm from Montreal, maybe you're talking about the bell center? I know our olympic stadium has some huge seat sections on railroad tracks to adapt the field for a baseball / or football/ concert configs, since 1976
In Orillia Ontario thehy can have a concert with 5000 people and the next day they move to an arena setujp, flood the floor and hold a Curling Bonspille

I believe that the fellow whose name Gary couldn't recall is the late Mike Henderson. A few years ago, during a visit to Nashville, I attended one of Mike's band's Monday night shows at the Bluebird. On bass was Gary Tallent, sitting in for Mike's regular Monday night bassist, Michael Rhodes, who was out with Joe Bonamassa. And now this random encounter with your marvelous tour guide, Gary, from Orlando viewed in my house in Tacoma, WA. Six degrees of separation? More like one, maybe two . . .
👍👍Wow! That's a video! Somebody confirm something for us. Are we correct in hearing that the fog machines we see so many acts using on the side of the stage these days are there to enhance the lighting?
