Thanks for clearing this up! I just took a webinar for one of those bookkeeping courses and the cost was above what I wanted to pay. Initially, I emailed the person about QuickBooks the cost is expensive ( because I have a business ), and the updates. She brushed me off and began to tell me why QuickBooks was the best software and why to buy her course. LOL! Thanks in advance for being truthful here.
Hi, I’ve just discovered your channel and watched all videos. Thank you for all the info! I love it! Can you talk a little bit about what kind of business entity you created and why? Is it a Sole Prop doing business as? I hear a lot of people recommending LLCs. Thanks!
There are lots of ideas on how you can get experience - you could offer to bookkeep for a small business for free for a period of time, or you could try to shadow a bookkeeper, you could try to work under a CPA, or some courses advertise that they will show you the "ropes". I hope you find the right path for you!
I should have clarified that part - I don't pay for FB advertising. I just created a FB page for my business and then shared that through my personal page. I posted content through that FB page related to bookkeeping to try and get my business name out there among friends and family.
Hi! I just stumbled up on your video. I really want to start my own bookkeeping business too! I am just so confused on this business license thing??? I mean, did you apply as sole proprietor or LLC? Many are saying if starting a business you should be LLC but it is so dang expensive.. like here in California aside from $75 registering it for LLC, there is Franchise tax of $800/year that you have to pay. I mean, I am just planning to have a part time work from home and then I have to pay $800??? I am so lost now!
I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! You can most definitely start as a sole proprietor. In my humble opinion, you don't need to move towards an LLC until you have a handle of legitimate clients (regular, well-paying clients).
HOW MUCH TIME REQUIRE TO EARN $10000 IF I HAVE LEARNT BOOKEEPING +QUICKBOOK SOFTWARE AND work 14 hours a day??? is it possible in 4 months to earn this amount as a ACCA STUDENT
This is an interesting question - perhaps I can make a video about the time investment I've put into building my business and what I'm currently making working full-time as a bookkeeper. Thank you for your comment!
Of course! Check out the videos where I walk through my first 6 weeks of becoming a bookkeeper and see if those help at all! I also videoed how I became certified as a ProAdvisor through QuickBooks!
I bank with a local credit union (Atlantic Credit Union)! I always try to use smaller, local banks for business like this as they are almost always easier to work with - both personally and financially :)
Great help to those who want to start their bookkeeping business!
