I was planning on doing the same thing here but I was afraid to fry the main bga so I bought the hdmi switcher, now I know it can be done but I will leave this one hack for when I can not find the actual ic

So my problem is that my laptop is connected to my LG TV via a HDMI cable and it says there's no signal but when I plug in my DVD player to the TV it all comes up fine so I don't think it's a hardware issue. Any ideas?

Someone should make dummy hdmi switch ics to solder on board instead jumping wires.good job,if customer accepts this kind of repair😊

Check the HDMI socket, and also the laptop.
