    I used hole saws when doing my dash. A couple of good quality, Lennox hole saws would've made this job waaaaay easier. .02

      I agree holesaws make jobs fast. But with a customers 500 dash. I prefer to sneek up on the hole and dont mind the extra time. LoL

    Great review. I’m ordering the carbon dash for my Mark IV and relocating the Speedo and RPM gages for better visibility.

    NIce job, thanks for the video. That dash looks SO much better than the vinyl foam 1970s looking thing.

    I like you staying consistent with your attire! Shorts and opened toes, hey, that's a good motto! 😮 Have to admit the dash looks much better than what was there. 👍

    Dude I've been thinking about doing a dash like this for months I just couldn't decide on if I like it or not' I like this vs non gloss carbon style. Good Job!

      I like the satin carbon in certain applications and this is one of them. I wonder if the Factory five dash would fit your cobra.

    I have that CF dash from FFR and it installed so nicely. The look is so bad ass too. I ended up wrapping my trans tunnel in CF like you guys did your dash on the other cobra and finishing it with 2K matte clear coat to UV protect it and to ensure it head the same finish as the dash.. I am in love with my interior. Classic with a touch of modern. Also huge thank you for the internal roll bar mounts. They installed perfectly and really add to the look of my build. My wife and I wear our 520 Speedworks shirt all of the time :)

      Jon, how did you finish off the ends of your carbon dash? Did you cut them or bend them inside of the upper door hinge?

    • @520speedworks6
      @520speedworks6  Год назад

      With the factory five carbon dash we just let the ends hang out. We do not attach them to anything. Just ise the under dash mounts.

    😀 Great video, technical Difficulties aside. I have the vinyl dash option coming. My kit is scheduled for 12/18/21.
    Love your videos. So speaking of videos, did I miss a completion video of the wrecked cobra? What kind/brand was the 2 part epoxy did you use to connect the dash door to the hinge? Thanks for your commitment to making videos even away from home. 👍

      Dan that's awesome, waiting is the hardest part. One day we will be a professional RUclips channel. LOL If your talking about the solid vinyl dash it is a nice piece just take your time with the glove box. If its the aluminum with vinyl cover, throw the cover away and order a cow hide from E-bay and wrap it with that. The glue is JB Weld plastic glue. Not the easiest to work with(customer provided), but did a good job. Nope you have not missed the completion of the wrecked cobra! I just have lots of content and just trying to give all my subs a variety of things to watch, new wrecked Cobra vid next week.

      Yes I have the vinyl optional dash coming with the glove compartment. So what kind of epoxy do you recommend for the “assembled louvers” from FFR to attach to the fenders & for the glove box assembly assuming it’s similar to the glove box on the carbon fiber dash?

    • @520speedworks6
      @520speedworks6  3 года назад +1

      @@dansgarage2010 we use a combination of glue and velcro to hold the louvers on. We glue the lower louver mount to the car. Dill holes so the glue can press through. put on velco. Then screw the upper louver mount to the car and put a piece of velcro on the car. Never had a louver move or fall off. We have not installed them on the wrecked cobra I will make sure I show it in detail in that video.

    General question: you do a lot of Cobra work: have you worked on any Daytona Coupes? If so, what would you say are the benefits of each. I'm trying to decide between the two because I think they are both amazing. I'm sort of leaning toward the Daytona because I like to be able to drive in the rain; I already can't ride my motorcycle in the rain.
    Also, I love the colors on your Cobra. They are the same almost as my 2013 Boss 302 Mustang. I think the shade of green is just slightly different

    • @520speedworks6
      @520speedworks6  3 года назад +1

      Hey Rex, Yes I have worked on Coupes as well. I really like them also. If you are going to purposely drive in the rain then you will want to go with a coupe over the roadster. Cobra only has a 90 in wheel base that and wet road makes for interesting driving. The cars with proper tires are more than capable of driving in the rain, but not much fun just like motorcycles. Coupes are nice because you can install A/C, it fits bigger people, but it is a more complicated car to construct.
      Thanks love the green its called Stryker Viper Green.

    FYI, I read that Carbon fiber dust happens to be the same shape and size as asbestos. You might wants to wear a breathing apparatus when cutting or sanding.

      That's awesome the whole driver and passenger foot boxes are offset to the outside. When sitting in the car your feet point towards the front wheels. Is that what you are talking about?
