Sometimes it's just good to start playing and see where it goes. Started playing Hans Zimmer Interstellar on piano based on Cornfield Chase and Day One, and thought it would be cool to mix it into Time, another Hans Zimmer composition from the movie Inception. I had first heard Time from a play by ear request from a lady when I was in St Pancras, so it was great just improvising and trying to remember it back. Then it was finding the right point to put it back into Interstellar, and I think you can see me literally thinking, oh, did that work?

20 years ago we didn't need to work overtime to account for a cost of living crisis and overpriced housing. Stopping to smell the roses doesn't pay the bills, even though most people would love to take 15 minutes out of a packed schedule to listen to music.

A paradox of us humans, especially photographers/media recorders. Preserving a visual for wider publication or consumption by others & self reminder in future. Something ones healthy concious mind will do. The technicalities of doing such can impinge/compromise one spiritually & simply enjoying a given moment in time. Perhaps a reason Buddhist practitioners do not race around with cameras ? Each moment is a self spiritual uplifting moment in time. Balance that against the genuine benolvence of the photographer/media broadcaster, trying to convey those feelings/perceptions, to arouse/awaken others to these basic emotional/spiritual needs perhaps hidden by persistent orher distractions, maybe ?

You played time like how time really feels different to everybody. For people going through the worst time, time moves slowly for them, alternatively, for people going through good times, time moves fast for them.
Thank You Cole, It is because of pieces like this that I love to hear you play classical music. You play classical pieces so well. I know this is not a classical piece but it comes closer to it than most of the music that we usually hear you play. The great thing with this Interstellar and Time mix is that you have put the Cole Lam arrangement to it. When we have talked before about you and classical music, you have always told me that your objection is that you need to play every note that the composer wrote. Here we have the exception, classical style music on which you have been able to put your own interpretation. Great stuff, loved it
Simply amazing, as usual. It must be difficult sometimes to trust your instincts to transition from one song to another. But, you do it beautifully. You always seem to put your whole body into the emotions of whatever you are playing. I am not one bit amazed that people are stopping, listening, and recording as you play the piano. Amazing as always. I am left speachless on how good you are. I could easily listen to you forever. I want to teach myself the the Piano. I play the Cello 25 years so have music experiance. I'm thinking for piano, buy a cheap piano keyboard, watch some youtube to teach the basics. Then find professional and take classes.
You can do it! You already have loads of music in you, so learning another instrument is about learning the difference. I picked up guitar quite quickly and clarinet is something I had learnt for a while (to grade 7).
Your very frustrating Cole Lam. When I was your age I wanted to play guitar. After 6 weeks I couldn't play Stairway to Heaven and gave up. I should have been taking piano lessons. Piano has been my one huge calmer. I sit for hours listening to you and my day gets better. Your awesome mate. My biggest regret is at 63 is I I'll never get the chance to play like you but that was my choice in life. At least I have someone like you I can listen to for hours and dream of what i could have achieved. Thank you.
Hi Cole, I’m currently on holiday in Normandy, visiting Deaville. It’s a very old town with beautiful buildings. The train station is especially beautiful and in the foyer is an almost new pristine Yamaha upright. Sadly no one was playing it. 4:10
