This truck was supposed to cost 49-51k like the ZR2, and instead they’re going to charge 65k and probably the most predatory dealer in the country(Toyota) is going to slap a 10k markup on top of that. Congrats you’ve now spent 75k, 20k+ more than all the competitors, for a 4 cylinder hybrid turbo monstrosity, that was built in Mexico. How do you move production to Mexico and justify an obligatory 40% price bump? Insanity. Looks cool but fuck no at 70k. I’d buy a ZR2, for like 40k and call it a day.

That truck Tacoma looks nice with the 35s on it. One thing I realize that I see people putting bigger tires on vehicles is the gear ratio it’s gonna be off. It’s a little bit bigger so for people saying that four-cylinder can’t handle them big tires or the transmission kind of messes up because of the big tires well that is sometimes the case, but if you put a gear ratio in that front reartire what nice video keep up the good work. I love a lot of things about the new Tacoma, and I can look past a lot of its flaws like interior room and comfort, but I just can’t deal with that motor, and I don’t mean the hybrid system, that could have stayed. Every manufacturer that has opted for a smaller motor and slapping a turbo on it, generally has had pretty bad motor issues of some sort. Toyota is dealing with it now on the Tundra, Ford went through it on almost every Eco boost, but especially in the trucks and SUV’s, and a few other brands as well. There would never be a replacement for displacement.

70k is Silverado ZR2 territory. There are certainly trade offs going full size vs mid size for off roaders, but then again a Colorado ZR2 can be had for low 50s.
When it comes to Tacos though the Trail Hunter is the cooler trim of the two, but since you like going fast I guess the TRD Pro is more in line with what you like to do.

@@9663mu a TRD pro is not the same to a Bison.
The Bison comes with 35s, and steel skid plates along with all of the standard ZR2 goodies.
The TRD pro is running on 33s not nearly as many skid plates and the stock tires aren't nearly as off road worthy as the ones on the ZR2.
The TRD Pro competes more with the standard ZR2 and should be similarly priced.
Instead, you will have to shop TRD Offroad which isn't as off road worthy as a ZR2 if you're going by price.

The Bigger Tires May be an Issue for the Transmission. I was reading an article on this and Toyota said the New Transmission Had Some Issues When Using Bigger Tires, it has to do with the Programming. You Should Look Into This. 🌴🌴🌴🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Very nice Toyota brother. They have come a long way since back in the day. Glad to see you change up the vehicles a little.

A safari basket on the roof and the spare tire inside the basket, might take care of the vibration sound

It’s the rear plastic fairing on the rack that makes all the noise. I hope Toyota fixes it.

btw the main noise you hear from the roof rack is because the back of it is plastic. You need to get a better roof rack.

Tacomas are so easy to get around town in. Tight turning radius, etc. I miss mine but the back seats are just too small for a family.
