This is my mom's special amla pickle recipe / gooseberry pickle. Normally gooseberry is boiled before making pickle, so that it won't get spoiled for months. But boiling it destroys the Vitamin C and also it won't develop probiotics in the pickle. Probiotics is the main reason we eat pickles, it's great for our gut health.
This pickle is made from fresh gooseberry, it develops probiotics and prebiotics when it's pickled this way. It also lasts for more than 1 year.
