- The housing crisis is making it extremely difficult for people to find a place to live, but leaders with the city of Tampa and the Tampa Hope Catholic Charities are working to change that with more homeless shelters.
That’s the solution…build tent cities!! Rather then tackling the real issue of the insane rent gouging issue! The state of Florida doesn’t have a rent law so landlords can up the rent as much as they want! Soon a majority of Floridas residents will be living on the streets!!
If you want rent control move to NYC to be with you anti Anerican democrap commie friends…
So the city can help create illegal dwellings while they bust everyone else’s balls over zoning and code? Which are the reason houses cost so much in the first place . The irony of this world is off the charts
IKR? Build more tiny homes. Simple but economic. They are too greedy for big property taxes from luxury apartments.
@@LetsDanceTampa I live in a twice moved (recycled) 1920 lumber camp cottage that’s only 672 sq ft ! So I right with you
You are completely right. This is camp shouldn’t be allowed neither people living in the streets. Take them to a shelter.
"zoning and code? " What about the plumbing?
Well if they would stop letting these places charge sky high rents and just keep going up
I love the "Let's move to Florida!" people who just show up, wide eyed and open mouth smiling, with no plan thinking they're going to rent a nice house, cute cottage or cheap apartment...SURPRISE!!! Get in line.
I'm glad I left Florida many years ago. Too many fake people in fake paradise. My life has been so much better since I moved.
Shouldn’t be a Surprise, first you check the rents and how much you’re gonna make…. But if your rent Doubles then 😩
It’s sad but I feel like every Floridian experiences what you experience lol. I remember meeting a girl who was living in her car from Oklahoma. She just packed up her car and moved here with her boyfriend and they thought rent was gonna be like $600 like it is in Oklahoma. More like $600 for room room you have to share with a stranger. Eventually she calls me crying and with her sad little Oklahoma accent she goes “we’re just not cut out to make it here” 😭🤣 never saw her again lol
Lol, I hear people in NY all the time tell me they are going to move to Florida. My next door neighbor moved there after putting their house up for sale and came back 2 months later and took their house off the market.
This is happening after the pandemic! Rents wasn't so high.
Just a bandaid. We need a real president ! We need jobs in America !!!
@@codecaine your right. All the good paying jobs are overseas
good luck during hurricane season
I knew a girl from Oklahoma once. She admitted to me that she was homeless. She packed up all her things and just decided to drive down here which was a terrible idea because she couldn’t find housing plus she’s a low skilled person so the only hourly pay she could get was for like 9$ an hour. I tried to help her get into being a nanny but her Personality was kind of strange so most people don’t want her as a babysitter or a preschool teacher. Eventually she called me one day and was like I’m just not cut out for this and she packed up the few things that she had and went back to Oklahoma.
Sounds like a good ending for her, she knew she was unskilled, lacked connections and had zero worth.
Cool story bro ..
Florida is so hot. Omg I hope the tent has airconditon. And the tents are in the open sunshine. No shade
Well hello it’s the new Los Angeles
yea the problem is a 1 bedroom apartment is like $1300 right. shit is insane. 3 years ago a 1 bedroom was 900-1000 max and im not talking noce luxury apartments, im talking a regular apartment
More than that
Curious, is anything expected of the tent tempted?? Is there a dining area? Are they assigned a social worker to help them? Looks good from what seen here but there has to be more.
Democrats: Free needles for all!
Why? If they wan more, move to LA. They can crap on the sidewalk and someone will come behind them and clean it up.
@@joevarga5982 the newer homeless actually have jobs and are not substance abusers.
@@LetsDanceTampa That's only a tiny fraction of the homeless. The vast majority of tent dwellers are junkies and alcoholics. The ones with jobs tend to live in shelters or in cars, not in tents.
living locked behind a barbed wire fence is what you call good?
They are gonna need more tents.
If you build it they will come
Tampa's homeless
Is at an all time high
Not good
Do your research...this is nationwide, the U.K and Canada...and it's going to get worse.

And the homeless are getting high
There are a lot of people in need of affordable housing…..what kind of Humans are we when we continue to pressure and take advantage of others!!! I pray every night to God that we stop being so Fake. And assist the less Fortunate.
It's been like 3 weeks since I lost my car and oh my God had three different businesses scream at me and make aggressive movements towards me I walked up to an abandoned building and filled my Coca-Cola bottle up with some water and a cop ran at me forced me to identify myself where he's going to take me to jail and told me that I was stealing because I felt my bottle up with water I couldn't believe this people literally treat and talk to homeless people like we are nothing and we are not even worth the time of day that hurts I'm a strong person but damn that hurt I might not have a home I have my issues but at least I don't do people like that it's crazy not everybody on the street wants to be on the street not everybody on the street is an addict but I'll be working the festival at Raymond James stadium tomorrow at least I'm trying
Open borders, and allowing foreigners to buy homes here caused this "housing shortage".
Dude you're so gross you're blaming the wrong groups of people. We've had the lowest immigration in decades thanks to straining the fuck out of legal immigration and increasing deportations under Obama, Trump, and now Biden so no there are not open borders and go read some publicly available information on the topic because it's not immigrants causing the housing shortage it's literally the fundamental effect of our fucked up late stage capitalistic system. The only thing you said that was partially true is foreigners buying homes but it's not the simple people who immigrated to our country trying to provide shelters for their own families but investors and foreign investors heating the housing market purposely making everyone pay more because they are buying houses for profit while others are buying houses to live. So stop with the racist dog whistles and vote for politicians who are for more housing over home appreciation and vote for politicians that are serious about tackling homelessness and are not for filling up our for profit prisons by criminalizing homelessness.
The foreigners buying the homes are Asian an Jewish because they have the millions……look at palm beach county, it’s little Jerusalem
@@boni_traxton9436 And Bellevue Washington looks like Beijing. I know all about it. The media is hiding the real cause of inflation.
The rent moratorium caused this by our government - now landlords need to recoup losses and it made rent sky high
@@carieyoung1111 but cmon $3000 for a shack in east Tampa
That’s crazy
P *1 of 4* Cities can eliminate homeless tent cities by replacing them with *Homeless Shelter Villages* [HSV] using _Pallet Shelter's_ existing *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV] components. The _Community Room_ sells for $37,000 and serves as a shared laundry room, restaurant, *child daycare center,* and addiction services center. The _Bathroom_ cost $35,000 and the _Services Office_ costs $9,000. So for only $81,000 a city can establish a *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV]. The 10'X10' *Camping Cube Sport Pop Up Tent* costs only $120 provides protection from the elements; for two people and their belongings.
P *3 of 4* Those with income pay rent which is 10% of their net income to the *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV] for their 2 person _Shelter 64;_ and 20% of their net income as rent for the 4 person _Shelter 100._ Their rent money goes to pay for: *childcare for working parents,* and one free meal per day; in the *Community-Room.*
So is it really becoming an issue y’all? I attended University in Tampa, it just wasn’t like that back then early 2000s.. you may see one or two homeless people in Ybor city and that’s it!
Welcome to Joe Biden's America!
Dude do your research, we're about to see thousands of homeless.
Corporate landlords are ruining it for everyone
@Ac Cz Nobody said that. Pay attention.
Tampa bay is filled with homeless
Add more jobs and counseling.

What’s sense doesn’t it make really! by going up several hundreds and thousands on the rent! In the state of Florida, on such low wages stupid and distasteful.
Well apparently some can pay, probably people with better income coming from other states who work from home
Gotcha state. Auto insurance is hurting so many people. I can see many moving away
I have been thinking of moving to Tampa bay but im scared off. Are they doing anything down there to make it more affordable to live there?
It’s not going to be affordable because people keep moving here making the demand high
where in Tampa is that
Improvement in the job sector??? Yeah Tampa pay with housing salary meant for New York isn’t gonna work fr .
P *4 of 4* The homeless can simply move the tents they are using now into the homeless-village and the RVs are assigned a parking space. *Or the **_Shelter 100,_** provided by FEMA,* is a $9,500 shelter that is climate controlled, built in one hour, is 100 sq. ft., and uses a folding bunk system to house up to four beds. *_Pallet Shelter's_* private sleeping cabins offer *security* and durability. Which addresses the concerns of the homeless who reject the restrictions of “bed-only” homeless-shelters; for only one night.
What about the heat? Not even a box fan.
P *2 of 4* Cities are spending millions of dollars to open and run homeless bed shelters; that the homeless reject due to the many restrictions and lack of security. _Pallet Shelter's_ two person _Shelter 64_ cost only $7,000 and provides a dignified, secure sleeping base of operation. So for only $201,000 [$120 tents] a city can establish and run a *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV] with 1000 shelters that can accommodate 2,000 people: 2 beds and belongings per 10'X10' tent.
Where ????I work where can I find this place ???????????
Damn I wash I had that tent contract!
Jackie Henderson at 0:21 has been Homeless in Tampa for many years.
Im not saying youre lying but maybe she did have a place a bit ago
A month and one half should turn to at least six months
What are they doing with the fundamental are getting to help the people is everywhere
Allot for more tiny homes to be built!
So they are building more on to the jail?
Opportunity
Where is the money going to help the homeless where is it where is it is everywhere in Raleigh North Carolina is it flooded everywhere where is the money they said he'd given to them for the homeless where is the money
*Paragraph 4 of 4.* 89 million Americans is 27% of the *working* population! Or a $50,000 a year stipend for 40 million American families of 4 making less than $15 an hour; *so that they are NOT made permanently homeless.* Amen.
P Unfortunately for millions of Americans in order to survive, those made homeless, *due to failed Republican polices,* will have to lower their standard of living dramatically and live in modest accommodations. Such as _Pallet Shelter's_ *Shelter 64* which sleeps two in a private cabin. Placed in combination with _Pallet Shelter's_ other components: *Community Room,* Bathroom, and Services Office; to form an entire *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV]. Where the rent paid to FEMA for the 2 person shelter is 10% of net income; and 20% for the four person shelter. Which goes to providing _one free meal a day_ and *childcare* so that the working poor can go to work: in the Community Room. Amen.
