  • After over 143 days of drought, hurricane Isaac finally brings some rain to Southeast Missouri, only too much!
Our backyard in Jackson, Missouri has a tiny creek that has been dry for 5 months. Before that, when it rained, at most the water was only 3-4 inches trickling down our creek. Thanks to Isaac, storms producing tornados and large amounts of hard rain turned our creek into a small river! The water got up to almost touching our house, but luckily the rain let up a little and it started to subside slowly. Water over roads, tornados, limbs down, and hail were just a few of the damages from the storm.
Thought it was pretty amazing, considering how small our.creek is, and this was the highest my grandmother living next door had ever seen it. I'm sure others had it worse. My sympathies for New Orleans and Mississippi!
