    I do so love your music choice! I would mention on your neck knife, make sure the necklace part will "break away" so it can't catch on something and choke/hang you. I stopped wearing mine as a neck knife and attached it to the top of my pack, but I know many of the women prefer the neck knife so it is always at hand for self defense. Keep on hiking, looking forward to the rest of your journey and maybe we'll run into each other in the Whites!

    Rest is so important. Glad you are doing so well. The neck knife is a great piece of gear. It will come in handy. One foot in front of the other. Keep on trucking! I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I appreciate it everyday.

    Don't neglect rest. You can't hike good if you don't eat good and sleep good. You are crushing it girl! Hiking strong! but you gotta rest or your hiking will suffer. Doing great!

    Rest is actually more important. Without it your body wouldn’t be able to recover from the beating you putting it through. In time the rest you give it now will make it stronger as your journey continues.

    N.o.C to Fontana and into the Smokies, a little unsure on what days which things happened lol but to each their own, I know excitement and battery life play a major role in filming. I'm enjoying your content none the less and happy to catch up on footage.

    Awesome video. Good to see you so happy and enjoying the trail. It sounds like you love the Smokies as much as I do. They really are amazing! Especially when the wild flowers are blooming. My favorite time of year. Someone mentioned Scarlet Tanagers. They are very shy and they are limb runners which means they prefer not to fly. The most beautiful bird. And they like maples in coves. Best!

    Another great video! I will be following you the entire trip. I have lived in Brevard North Carolina for the last 20+ years, I am very familiar with the Smokies. I'm glad your knee is getting a little better with taking it easy and doing a rest day. I am your biggest fan, looking forward to week number four!

    Hello I’m attempting the AT thru hike this year starting in mid April. I’m enjoying your videos and learning a lot, thank you. Did you use the bear canister the entire time? Do you recommend it?

    • @appalachianadventurista
      @appalachianadventurista  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes I did and yes I do! It’s definitely extra weight and I made the conscious choice to carry it every day. But I found it worth it. Keep in mind you aren’t married to the fear you start with - you can always change your mind.

      @@appalachianadventurista thank you, it’s not so much because of fear, it’s more about looking at my options during my planning. Thank you for the feedback.

    Why do you think you had such a sluggish day there towards the end of the video? Just one of those days, the extra weight, something else? Keep putting one foot in front of the other, you're doing great!

      The first day in the Smokies went great but was objectively a difficult climbing day. I think it set in later and had drained more of my energy than I realized. At least that’s my theory.
