Honestly, between not showering that long, and the rain and mud, that probably would have been my quitting point. You are stronger than I am.
Oh, the water and mud... My feet were cold all-night thinking about it! That's my girl, leaving it better than she finds it! Love Dad.
When I hiked thru there, we were calling it "Muddsechusetts". Amazing rains.
I heard you mention Steady Eddie, I believe he is the hiker that died most likely drowned crossing a flooded stream. Be careful out there and stay safe. My condolences about your friend.
Yes Robert Kerker aka Steady Eddie's body was found yesterday. So very sad. The first thing I thought of when news of the flooding began was the many hikers that I knew were in the area. I'm so sad for this man's loved ones!
Sending love too steady Eddie’s family! ❤ 😢 God Bless all the hikers out there in all that rain! 😢
Enjoying this, but why do you keep saying, “we” with all I see, is you. I don’t see any companion. Why not just say “I.’ ??
@@peek-a-moose2491 I believe she is hiking with multiple people.
Yes, the loss of a hiker has been felt through this whole community. However, there happen to be 2 Steady Eddie’s on trail this year and I did not get the chance to meet the gentleman who recently passed. And yes, I am hiking in a tramily of 6 folks. They make many appearances in my videos but I do not subject them to being taped often without their consent.
Trying to catch up, Mass is interesting
You are doing so good on trail! Please be extra careful out there in all this rain and mud! 🌂Blueberry hill so cute. God Bless the cookie lady! 😊🍪 . I know you were glad to get that shower! 🤭 take good care of your feet 🦶🏾. Take care and hike on! Have a good week! 🥾🧗♀️💪🙏🇺🇸🏕️
Also congratulations on 1,600 miles 👏👏👏👏
Thank you!!
You started to feel your knee again because you finally got a shower and washed off all the dirt supporting it! HAHAHAHA
Vermont has 3 seasons, Fall, Winter and Mud.
You're moving fast and doing great! That smile of yours is telling me that your head in in the right spot. You got this girl! 3 states to go and by the time I've seen this, you are probably well into N.H. Slow down a little and enjoy the wilderness because now it will be over way too soon. If you aren't there yet, WAIT for good weather to do Franconia and Webster Cliffs to Pinkham Notch. Not only for safety but YOU DEFINITELY WANT TO SEE THOSE ON A CLEAR DAY!!!!!
Remember, Katahdin is not the goal. The hike is the goal, Katahdin although majestic is just the end. Enjoy the process! Good luck, Hike Strong, Hike Safe but above all HAVE FUN!
geek
Ha! You got that right! Thank you!
Missed you by a couple of days. I'm at Wicked Wayside for 7/31 & 8/1. Zero to let plantar fasciitis heal up. Rained cats & dogs at sunset last night!.
**For other hikers: Wicked Wayside Hostel is amazing and spacious with full kitchen privileges. Walk .3 to country store for fresh food to cook! Tinker, nobo flipping up from Virginia
1:47 Best line of video - "I prefer to do a shower about once a week" ....lol can't say that in a typical office environment.
If you ever do the Buckeye Trail here in Ohio, I'll bring homemade buckeyes (candy) as trail magic! Now TC is for Trash Collector! Be safe! Another gal I've been following quit the AT at Maine due to the rain. There were flooded areas and the water crossings were very sketchy!
Oh yum! Thank you!
Hey TC, so great to see you and your miles and thrilled you are still with your tramily. Much respect to you and all who have carrie don through a very wet spring/summer. I'm heading back where I came off next spring with a new mindset and excitement. Well done :)
Thank you!!
You are getting it done! I can hear it in the tone in your voice, you are feeling it! - you are the part of the trail. :)
Thank you!
Embrace the stink!
Glad you didn’t get trapped on trail with rain. Enjoying your videos and commentary. Met you and your group when Queen Diva set up her show just before Dalton. 😎Happy Trails 🏃🏼♀️Pokey
Thanks, Pokey!
Thank you for the video you all are doing such a great job week-by-week 👍🏻
Thank you!
Congratulations on 1,600 TC!! Your progress is amazing. Thank you for the great, informative videos. It is so fun to see sections I was on over 25 years ago. Be well.
Thank you!!
Wow, your making great progress. Keep up your positive attitude. Your getting closer with each step. Wishing you and your trail family safe travels.
You should add the day when you’re saying good morning. Unless you don’t for security reasons. Anyways love the videos. Keep it up!
Thank you so much for taking the trash. ❤ Im glad you finally got some sun. We're finally getting a break from the rain here in Maine. Ive had trench foot and its truly awful. I hope it recedes quickly for your friends. Congrats on 1600 and another state! Rest well TC ✌️
Thank you!!
After reading the first comment...I'm sorry about your friend as well. Your videos are so calming and informative. Please take care of yourself. Thank you for taking us along.✌♥️
Thank you!!
Me and my wife met you this morning in rangely. Nick and April. You guys are amazing. You are very inspiring. We wish you all the best. Hope you have a safe journey to katadin.
It was great meeting y’all!! Thanks so much!!
You mentioned that you aren't sure what 50-60% chance of rain means in VT.
I like that you mention this topic, because we have lived coast-to-coast, and it DOES mean different things, in different parts of the country!
Examples:
In the Midwest, 60% chance of rain means that when these atmospheric conditions exist, we will "usually" get rain.
But, in Florida... 60% chance of rain means that it WILL be raining today!!! (100% chance of that!) But, only 60% of the viewing population will actually get wet. (e.g. spotty dry spots.) Heck, the rain at YOUR location may only last 15-60 minutes?
Peace.
I feel so bad for you all on the trail getting drenched. You are awesome, keep crushing miles! How heavy is your pack with a bear canister and 5 days of food?
Thank you! My pack is about 30lbs fully loaded with 5 days of food and almost 2L of water.
I can smell you all the way over here in Cambodia 😂 just joking 😂. How do you get the video so stable walking if filming w your phone I can never get it that good .
Haha! You should see the tip-toe-walking I do to try and steady the camera. 😅
@@appalachianadventurista ohhhhh.... I will have to try that !
Am I the only one worried that we haven't seen Week 18 yet?
Week 18 is coming soon! Had some minor delays due to storage issues.
@@appalachianadventurista so glad you're ok!
smart to not hike in that downpour!
How can one get ahold of Queen Diva ?
Yes, we are entering the "I'm a victim" stage of the hike. There is a gun to your head after all what else can you do. The bugs, the trail goes straight up, It's full of water, the mud, the rain, I need a shower. I never hit that stage.
