This is my favorite recording of Phiiip Koutev National Folk Ensemble. The pianissimo tones, as well as the voices timbre is so exact, so refined, so heartfelt. Thank you for posting this.
The mountain has buried two shepherds. one begs the mountain to let him go because his wife is waiting for him at home. The second asks to let him go because his old mother is waiting for him at home. The mountain replies that the wife is waiting for a day or two, and the mother is waiting until death.
Not exactly. It is the mountain who explains of how mother grieves and that her grieve is the deepest. Compared to the grieve of the young love. Mother cries continues until the grave.
Bulgarian folklore is most rich folklore on this planet. In national library is keeped more of 240000 folklore songs. Bulgarian calendar is 7526 years old.
It is around 18/19th century folk song. Most are "refined" in that period. Later in 20th century they are written down for different types of music but the choir type signing was the original. The number of songs from the other comment is true one as being really big but the calender isn't explained correctly, there is old bulgar calendar that aorund the 70s was studied by americans and said to be the most accurate calendar even to modern ones as every 4 years we have a bonus day in February to compensate for it.
@@vasil.kamdzhalov @Васил Камджалов I thought this song was written during the time the Ottoman muslim invaders came to Bulgaria and killed to those who refused to convert to islam also known as the Batak massacre
@@slavaukraini1811 There are such songs but not every is made for one perticular event. Most are for weddings, young people meeting while singing or dancing, illness, bad luck like this one. Yeah it is mourning much more???? Than this?💝💝💝💝💝💝💝

A beloved one grieves from morning till noon, but a mother grieves for until the day she dies! 🥺😣😭
Imagine how lm crying. My 2 sisters died 6 months from each other 6 years ago and my mom at 76 still lives.
