  • In this video I introduce you to the music theory of diatonic harmony so you can add chord progressions and melodies to your productions, infusing them with drama and emotion while giving listeners something to sing along to. I also show you how to use Ableton's Scale effect and its rhythmic quantization feature to give you some guardrails while you're exploring these concepts.

    the visualisation of building the chords & adding the inversions made a lot more sense to me than other explanations I've seen. I think it works because I can see all the notes simultaneously, the harmonic relationships are easier to see, rather than watching someone's fingers moving across a keyboard

      @@DavidShimelThank you for asking. Ableton offers a variety of free packs on their site, or included with the DAW, comprising devices, samples, and loops. Envision creating a collection of episodes, each focused on presenting a full track inspired by the contents of a selected pack. Each episode corresponds to a specific pack.
