I normally like Christina’s ideas but in this video she’s had some awful ideas & it’s very clear their personal relationship is getting in the way of their professionalism.
How can Tarek say:"I nearly fell through the ceiling and Christina's worried about herself" As if it would've been OK to fall on top of her???

Basically, Tarek may have a jealous attitude towards Christina. He shuts down most of her choices/ opinions and we all know that Christina has a better feel on decor trim tiles and some time layout. He just can't accept her ideas.
There is a lot more going on psychologically than even Tarek realizes. He lost control of the personal relationship and now he wants to dominate the business relationship to make up for it.
I didn't see that this time. His ideas were better and she was acting bratty and immature the whole time.
Her designs are always random, over the top, and too expensive. She needs to just give it up....

Christina was born with these Talents. She doesn’t have an Acemedic carrier in this House decorating issue like an Interior Designer but her instincts are perfect.
I would like to choose her for adviser but Heather is a good seller maybe but she doesn’t have Christina’s skills😢.

Tarek still cares for Christina..but in a different way. They're more like siblings fighting their own styles to win. Their collab business is tied together by their 2 beautiful kids without which it will fall apart easily.

Even though Christina liked the kitchen, Tarek made the classic mistake of being too matchy matchy. The worktop should have been the grey and the splashback tiling is a dust and grease trap.
well it isn't for himself but to sell and to sell a house you need to appeal to a large group of people and most people do like matchy matchy. if you could even consider white on white. he just did what most home owners now have. white cabinets with a fake white marble on top

One pet peeve I have is that we never get to look at the final design long enough. I guess I must switch the video to a slower pace myself when we get to that point. I like to enjoy the product of their hard work a bit longer.
I love them together and I love their separate shows too .It's great that they can come together in business and as parents .
Tarek made all the right calls on designing that home. Don't understand why they are talking about her bf and why he should be concerned when they are divorced. Why not elevate the show. Buy two houses, each quality and size. Then have Tarek design one and Christina the other. The house that sells the quickest will give Tarek or Christina their previously determined prize. Another idea to change it up is to take a family who need to sell or can't sell their home and remodel. Bring their whole family into it.

I stopped watching because all of her designs were the same boring things, but we do have to remember they are flipping houses so they need to appeal to the masses.

He had never turned her down before , he always let her have her way. She does not like that at all ,she still think he suppose to let her have her way no matter what...Christina you are not his wife anymore.
That's her job..she is the designer and she's supposed to design and not ask permission..so i'm sure she knows they are not married anymore and its not about getting it her way..its her job.

They all look almost the same to me - so Terek designing it without her while using her usual style - you can't even tell the difference. Still hate the backsplash - after cleaning it once you will want to rip it off...

Beautiful finish: It is good to see how they worked through their differences and draw on their individual talents to produce such a gorgeous renovation.
Christina helped Tarek immensely with her cteative design ideas and beautiful design choices. Tarek was basically slow walked into higher quality flips by Christina. For him to shut down her ideas, although often more expensive than his ideas, was unfortunate. She was the creative impetus that propelled the couple to success.
I totally agree with you. All the people saying she overspent don't realise that her designs got them the big profits he was only to happy to accept. She also has much more money than he has and is very successful in her current shows. She is doing it for herself.

See that's the difference. When Tarek does the whole design it's okay... It's just kind of like any other renovated house on the block. But when Christina does it... WOW, it's just so much more unique and one of a kind. I suppose that's the difference education in the field makes.
I do think Tarek shuts Christina's ideas down a lot. He can be a little annoying with his constant maximizing profit argument. They make tons of money on each flip, he needs to dial it down a bit. But you can't argue with their success, and I love their show. They are both talented at what they do. Congratulations to their success and continuing to keep the show going despite their changing personal lives.

I think they do considering what they have been through. She does need him or she would have to downsize her lifestyle.

Staging companies should have some nice furniture pieces from the start since they ll be using them for many many projects. It s not like they spending money on furniture each project they work on. These pieces do not even meet the main goal of a staging company which is choose the BEST furniture for MAXIMUM impact, that's their main mission. Why pick up literally LESS than average pieces when you re a design company not a less than average, no picky buyer?
The architectural modifications are amazing but the staging is really average very amateur.

I don't like watching this show because of the constant conflict in it- and it comes out in their designs. It's like watching two kids who want to kill each other build a house. Some may find that interesting, but I just find it painful to watch. :/

They always take out such beautiful and valuable plants and trees. There was a large cycad and palm in the back yard.
You're right. They know nothing about landscaping. Any of us who do can clearly see that.
The pool in the back needed shade and trees provide privacy.
This is my favorite house they've ever done ,I love the trilevel ,it's so unique and gorgeous .I wish We had built one like this a long time ago and did the design this way ,LOVE IT
She used to show up in 4" heels for work. Then say she couldn't demo because she needed to go shopping. Every project was over budget. You could tell they were an odd match.

This whole scenario is scripted. Their relationship over numerous other videos are not like this. Tarek never questioned her spending as they always discusses it. Now all of a sudden it is a problem. I do not like fake drama like this. It takes away from their work.
It isn't fake. They have always had moments of disagreements, except now that they're divorced, he's not afraid to say no and could care less if she gets mad or upset.
In fact, I would not be surprised if they ended their professional partnership soon. Besides, it's usually not a good idea to continue working with your ex....especially if your ex used to be a co-star on a tv show! They have kids together, and that affects their ability to coparent the kids amicably! Too much drama!
I don't think its scripted. I think the reason Tarek was shutting down her ideas was because he had found out on this episode that Christina had a boyfriend and I guess he was hurt by it

Before Tarek and Christina divorced, whenever they disagreed or would start to argue, they would tell the camera people to turn the cameras off. Now, it's no holds barred.
She always designs with no budget in mind and just expects him to figure it out. He does 80% of the work and she just picks out pretty things that she likes

It had been interesting to see them do a project of their own from start to finish including design, demo, sales etc. That way we will see who will do fine without the other. My opinion are very clear on who will succeed.
Christina Hall has succeeded, HGTV gave her a new show "Christina in the Country". Tarek El Moussa flipped a house with his new wife Heather Rae Young, and that house was so ugly and basic, because they lack Christina's design eye, that the house is still on the market, they had to lower the price TWICE. He lost a ton of money because of it. He doesn't have what Christina has, which is why I think he belittled her behind the scenes many times before their divorce. He was just not as good, and put her down to make himself feel better.
I love rock fireplaces. I guess they just aren't popular anymore. But I don't go with popular. LOL I would love a home with a rock fireplace. I think they are so pretty.

They're both very strong-willed and she does not back down. She takes it as personal rejection if he has a different opinion. You can't have a dance when both take the lead, so maybe it was a bad idea to work together professionally as a married couple.

The structure remodel looked good , but they could of kept the stone features and wood walls in that one room and married it with the already iron hardware throughout the home and created a sophisticated modern rustic design with sophisticated modern rustic staging. An updated modern rustic vibe.

When i started watching their show, o never knew they used to be married. I just noticed that Christina was always awkward in each episode. Not like her usual self in Christina on the Coast. Then saw an episode where one of her daughters called him "dad". Got confused becoz i was pretty sure ove seen her husbamd on her Coast show. So i googled about them and was really shocked about their past. I felt sad.
What a jerk? He said, "I'm just gonna design this kitchen so Christina can have time for her boyfriend."

Why not do a give away re-design every six months for the winner of why you want your house or room re-designed by Christine and Tarek. Stores can donate their products as it will be great advertising for them. People can send emails or videos for this give a way to HGTV.
