I thought my ex was my fairytale. So handsome and romantic and spontaneous and out love was so passionate, But he wasn’t willing to work through our problems. My current relationship isn’t passionate like that but our trust and communication and commitment is amazing. It’s something I’ve struggled with accepting. But Id rather have someone who’s really here for me and real than a fairytale facade.
Unfortunately the good looking ones are the ones we can't emotionally connect with or they don't communicate but the ones who are ok looking are the ones who are more respectful and marriage material and more caring etc. You get one or the other. Some are lucky to have spouses who are not bad looking and don't have a bad personality either but most kind of have no choice but to settle for the least attractive ones to be treated right

Many woman and men enter a space where they are literally who they think they should be rather than who they actually are. We have so much things telling us who we are, what we should expect and how it should feel that we don't really know what we like. I often ask people who were you before the world told you who you were? That is where to start. The look of a thing and the reality of it is often conflicting
People who are physically attractive and who have outgoing personalities may find it easier to attract mates but it doesn't guarantee a successful relationship. It's going through those hard time together, working on resolving your problems is what creates intimacy and companionship love, not that romantic fantasy love that you see in movies. Keyanna I can relate to this. I’m also an empath. My parents had an extremely toxic, hateful relationship. And I pray to god everyday that I don’t end up in one myself. I’ve been in therapy for many years, and I have learned that we usually pick people like our parents. I did date a lot of cruel sociopathic guys in the past, and I’m constantly trying to self correct and not end up with a person like that married to me.

So, here’s one of my issues with being myself on a date. I’m a very empathic, nurturing, people pleasing person. I love serving others. And if I were to show that immediately, two issues happen. One is that I’ve had many guys tell me that i come off as being a mother. They end up friend zoning me because I come off too much as the older sister, mother, friend, etc. the other problem is the ones that are attracted to my mothering qualities are men with mommy issues or users and abusers who want to use me to take care of them. So yes, I do play a character. Usually I go far opposite when I meet someone and then I get told that I look intimidating, mysterious, closed off. I’m not sure where to find a medium. I’d appreciate anyone’s advice.
It’s a harder path and but more worthwhile to be yourself IMO. You have to really focus on self awareness and also take your time getting to know the other person. I went thru this same thing myself, and really like the way I’m relating now. All the best to you!

Honey this video is amazing and has so much truth. People will definitely show you what they want others to see to appear perfect. My college boyfriend and I were popular and everyone thought we had a perfect relationship so when we broke up everyone was so surprised but we worked really hard at only showing our perfect moments. It was so stressful and it taught me so much about myself and relationships.
I’m not even gonna lie. I didn’t like the start of this video because initially I thought you were coming for me. Then I kept watching and I realized...you were in fact coming for me 😂 I say this because, I am fairytale girl, and fairytale girl is me. I want my danm fairytale cake and I wanna eat it too. 😩😂 But I also realized that, (as you stated) some of my “standards and wants” are based on what I see on social media, and are not entirely the standards that I actually want. We dated for two years, before we were engaged. I had two girls and he had “two” kids. We had a beautiful destination wedding. We had a long distance relationship. We didn’t combine houses until mine sold. I finally sold my house. We had found a home for all of us to live in. It was beautiful. We had a baby. 6 months after we moved in together. The mask fell off. He was devil 👿 I mean.. who is this man? Where is my husband. Ha! He told me.. he run things and everyone does what he says. 😱 (his family knew what he was). Lonnnngggg story short. He wasn’t who he said he was. It was ALL an act. A Character. We are divorced. I have NO Contact with him, his family or friends. We just exchange our children. everything you said was true!! many men and women are unfortunately influenced by social media. it’s easy to compare yourself to a couple you see posting cute pictures but at the end of the day, we don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. my ex posted me all the time & was romantic but still managed to cheat. in contrast my s/o now doesn’t post me or isn’t really that romantic but we have better communication & work through our problems. moral of the story, don’t compare yourself/ relationship to others!! esp social media ones😭
I now understand the importance of seasons in a relationship. There will be difficult times, but they will make you appreciate the good times. Each season will challenge you, how you decide to work through it improves you as a person. The transformation of self prepares you for the next season. I learnt that you are to help each other, that being with someone isn't about what they buy for you, that the amount they spend isn't a reflection of the supposed love they have for you. It gives people a new perception about relationships that will help them relax internally and make since about relationships. But I can say there is a such thing as a "fairytale" relationship... Well at least for me. Of course there will be moments were there are misunderstandings, but for me, I can say I have been gifted with a Man that I have prayed for. And I decided to comment under this video because my relationship was picture perfect, everyone who met us used to call 'the perfect couple' and I posted a lot of those pics of gifts, trips, parties he took me to because that way I convinced myself that my relationship was perfect. I am extremely thankful to be a realist and coexist with a partner who is also a realist. (Although sometimes we be a lil too real. lol) We were friends before becoming romantically involved, not believing in “fairytales” or “fairytale relationships” was something we disclosed and discussed to each other before becoming a couple. Wow, Breeny...THANK YOU! Honestly, I’ve been feeling so confused in my relationship recently. Little things about him would irritate me and I dunno maybe it’s the lockdown and I miss being with him physically but it really had me thinking and questioning whether we were even right for each other. We pray together over FaceTime pretty much every evening and ask God to be the centre of our relationship. We’ve also been praying that if our relationship isn’t God’s will then God should show us and give us the courage to end it. Wow this has been something I’ve been thinking about lately. Your video has come at the right time. I think I’ve been a princess but I want to be a queen. Some self reflection is needed! I did think other people have perfect relationships and that’s what I wanted everything would be perfect. I used to think guys I had crushes on were perfect that’s cause I didn’t really know them that I had this made up idea of them that their these magical humans lol. I honestly started to believe the fairy tale in my childhood due to a toxic upbringing a toxic upbringing with parents physically fighting It was HORRID to see,especially as an empath and highly sensitive person. I DO NOT WANT a Toxic relationship. I know arguements are okay,but it also how you say things as well.
Keyanna I can relate to this. I’m also an empath. My parents had an extremely toxic, hateful relationship. And I pray to god everyday that I don’t end up in one myself. I’ve been in therapy for many years, and I have learned that we usually pick people like our parents. I did date a lot of cruel sociopathic guys in the past, and I’m constantly trying to self correct and not end up with a person like that married to me.

So, here’s one of my issues with being myself on a date. I’m a very empathic, nurturing, people pleasing person. I love serving others. And if I were to show that immediately, two issues happen. One is that I’ve had many guys tell me that i come off as being a mother. They end up friend zoning me because I come off too much as the older sister, mother, friend, etc. the other problem is the ones that are attracted to my mothering qualities are men with mommy issues or users and abusers who want to use me to take care of them.
So yes, I do play a character. Usually I go far opposite when I meet someone and then I get told that I look intimidating, mysterious, closed off. I’m not sure where to find a medium. I’d appreciate anyone’s advice.
It’s a harder path and but more worthwhile to be yourself IMO. You have to really focus on self awareness and also take your time getting to know the other person. I went thru this same thing myself, and really like the way I’m relating now. All the best to you!

Honey this video is amazing and has so much truth. People will definitely show you what they want others to see to appear perfect. My college boyfriend and I were popular and everyone thought we had a perfect relationship so when we broke up everyone was so surprised but we worked really hard at only showing our perfect moments. It was so stressful and it taught me so much about myself and relationships.
I’m not even gonna lie. I didn’t like the start of this video because initially I thought you were coming for me. Then I kept watching and I realized...you were in fact coming for me 😂 I say this because, I am fairytale girl, and fairytale girl is me. I want my danm fairytale cake and I wanna eat it too. 😩😂 But I also realized that, (as you stated) some of my “standards and wants” are based on what I see on social media, and are not entirely the standards that I actually want. That’s really fucked up when you think about it. We dated for two years, before we were engaged. I had two girls and he had “two” kids. We had a beautiful destination wedding. We had a long distance relationship. We didn’t combine houses until mine sold. I finally sold my house. We had found a home for all of us to live in. It was beautiful. We had a baby. 6 months after we moved in together. The mask fell off. He was devil 👿 I mean.. who is this man? Where is my husband. Ha! He told me.. he run things and everyone does what he says. 😱 (his family knew what he was). Lonnnngggg story short. He wasn’t who he said he was. It was ALL an act. A Character. We are divorced. I have NO Contact with him, his family or friends. We just exchange our children. I was in an abusive relationship and couldn't even see it for a long time but when it came to physical abuse I managed to leave after 6 months, I left with one suitcase of clothes and no money in my pocket and I can't even describe how I felt after but then YT suggested one of your videos and it was life-changing you contributed so much to my growth and for that I am extremely grateful. And I decided to comment under this video because my relationship was picture perfect, everyone who met us used to call 'the perfect couple' and I posted a lot of those pics of gifts, trips, parties he took me to because that way I convinced myself that my relationship was perfect. I am extremely thankful to be a realist and coexist with a partner who is also a realist. (Although sometimes we be a lil too real. lol) We were friends before becoming romantically involved, not believing in “fairytales” or “fairytale relationships” was something we disclosed and discussed to each other before becoming a couple.

Wow, Breeny...THANK YOU! Honestly, I’ve been feeling so confused in my relationship recently. Little things about him would irritate me and I dunno maybe it’s the lockdown and I miss being with him physically but it really had me thinking and questioning whether we were even right for each other. We pray together over FaceTime pretty much every evening and ask God to be the centre of our relationship. We’ve also been praying that if our relationship isn’t God’s will then God should show us and give us the courage to end it. Wow this has been something I’ve been thinking about lately. Your video has come at the right time. I think I’ve been a princess but I want to be a queen. Some self reflection is needed! I did think other people have perfect relationships and that’s what I wanted everything would be perfect.
