Coming from a previous high tech setup and now only having simple epiphyte plants I have to be honest I'm quite interested in this kind of setup. My only personal issue is that my tank is 850L (inc sump) so I'd probably have to get a bigger unit (which I don't think they do) or just be prepared to refill maybe weekly or fortnightly. I also think you could possibly need 2 units so that when one runs out you've another ready to go. From experience if you don't get a consistent supply of Co2 then your algae (especially BB) can go wild. Still very interesting though 😊
FYI… I added a Solenoid to the smaller model 125… working flawlessly without a hitch. Fires right up and off at set times using a smart timer. Perfect for my nano setup and wife aesthetics approved.
I remember from years ago,you needed to have warm water and mix up the yeast and sugar to cause the fermentation. If the water was too cold it would not work. Hot water kills the yeast ,so just luke warm is ideal. Looks pretty good though, but am interested what the are asking for it ?.
Nice man, looking forward to see how you get on with it! Been converting our tanks to planted the last 3 months, but with no co2 and 12W lightbulbs it’s going slloooowwww! 😂 look forward to your updates 👍💯
The 125L retails at around £130 - Thankyou for the helpful info . Just to check - is it essentially a citric acid / baking soda + water ( 1:1:1 ratio method - like columbo reactor ? )
I have one of these. Bought it about 3.5 weeks ago from my LFS. Set me back about $175 (USD) for the 125L version. One thing to note (as I had trouble with my first batch as well), make sure you mix the mixture up once you put everything in the tank. If you get the yeast trapped under the sugar, it won't produce CO2 well. Would be very interested if you try putting a Solenoid on it! I'm looking into that now. I had an issue with my tank running it 24/7, so I have it turned off now and I'm looking for a way to attach a solenoid well.
@@Alexxnx19 I shook mine up originally, and by shook I mean I swirled it in the canister (with it closed) b/c I didn't want to risk dropping it or somehow making a mess.
@@rolandominueza2771 I've been having an issue when the CO2 turns on, there's an initial blast of pressure that shoots out and blows water out of the bubble counter up the line. So I'm slowly losing water in the bubble counter. Any suggestions?
I had considered some sort of Co2 but having a low tech setup i decided against it. Too much faff for my low light plants. Although would happily give it a try when i have more demanding plants 😃
@TheSpectrumTheatre Yes, it works better, but I would not advise anybody to buy one. I have seen better on the market, but I did make a mistake. I used tap water on the first try that was not up to temp, but been running now for 2 weeks, and the pressure does not seem that good.

I just looked and found your video after seeing Fluval CO2 Pro online. I can't find the price any where. Online stores don't have them yet, the 2 big "Pet_" stores don't have them listed. I was happy to see Fluval, a brand I know and trust, had these canister CO2 systems, as I really wasn't confident buying a chinese version on Amazon. It's a little concerning that you had issues out of the box. I'm afraid there wouldn't be any spare parts available for some time. Most of us don't have spare parts lying about. 😜 I have a 75 US gal tank. Am I hearing the 66 wouldn't quite be enough? I'm afraid the next step up may be too much. But a little is better than zero, right? And I don't want the disposable cartridge expense or waste.
I'm told they should start shipping to stores from early March - The issues I had were annoying, but also perfectly possible it was user error! This is a pre-production model too. Spares shouldn't be an issue - the valves and bubble counter are all standard sizes.
Same happened to me today gutted, the instructions that come with it say tap water 21 to 24 degrees c I googled the instructions and that said 27 to 30 c I did that and it worked. update it worked till i noticed a leak from the bubble counter not happy fluval
It doesn't look like you placed the rubber washer in when you first screwed the bubble counter on, so the reaction would of just emptied itself out before being able to build pressure. 😊 also no solenoid is a big no for me. I have mine switch off at night then my air stone come on. Plants can only use the co2 when photosynthesis is occurring, so kinda pointless having on at night. For anyone wanting to take your planted tank seriously. Ide skip these setups and invest in a proper regulator and tank to begin with, save yourself buying this first then throwing it in the bin when you realise how rubbish they are. 😂. Initial cost is around £100 and will last you 4-6months on a 100 litre tank on 10 hours a day. Do your research and good luck!
The Fluval Bio CO2 Refill Packs are £12.99 in the local fish shop! The full system is £129.99 for the 125l version and £159.99 fir the 250l version.

It seems that a bigger System will be available from fluval also with a solenoid for less than 200£.
That's good to know, will keep an eye out. Graeme, keep us updated on how it performs please 😊
@@raffnixxx8127I use an inline tube co2 diffuser and works better than an external co2 diffuser like the one that comes in the package.

Do u have the link of the solenoid product?
Do you have links to the Solenoid? Id love to see what you used to see if I can do it on my tank

I did use warm water - not sure what the price will be, expect to see it in shops in early March.

Adding the solenoid after the bubbel counter should work just fine. As long as the safety vaulve don´t open.
