You know there are a pair of Beavers watching you right now and one of them is like "here, hold my beer" LOL. Your videos are always enjoyable. You are definitely a hard worker.
I love this. Takes me back to my childhood in the city, always following the water and unclogging street drains, just to see water flow. I would chop holes in ice in winter to drain our alley into the sewer drain. I loved making the little rivers from the drain up the alley. I will have to watch more videos.
you’ve used a rake in unclogging drains but have you considered using a garden fork or something like it to disassemble these beaver dams? seems to me like you could jab it in and dislodge a lot more branches and mud with one of those than by hand, especially if you alternated that and tugging the bigger logs and sticks loose
Beaver dams are carefully constructed so they are essentially puzzles to take apart, its not like when you pile brush for a bonfire and can keep taking off the top of the pile. About the only effective tools for this are hand picking, a chain saw (mud would instantly dull it), and possibly some sort of fire/flamethrower. Everything else would be rather ineffective at demolishing it or be heavy machinery like an escavator/backhoe that he legally cant use as a volunteer (even the chainsaw is probably off limits). Also i wonder if a pressure washer would work, assuming you had a water feed/gas for it to stay functional.
Is it just me or does anyone else get the same type of enjoyment from watchin Post 10 unclogging and popping bubblewrap!! It's the same type of feeling. LOL
This is much better because you have relaxing sound of flowing water throughout the whole video. Bubble wrap is a short term fix until you can watch another vid on this channel
You did a great job. I am a 76 year old lady. I watched you do the whole thing. Your one of a kind to take on that. God bless and keep you safe always.
In ecofascist Europe you wouldn't be allowed to touch one twig or hang around there too long if the authorities didn't give their consent. Not long and Prince Charles and other ecofascist nobility will again hand out capital punishment if the peasants dare to hunt little critters for their survival. The Hunger Games ain't fiction!
Yes, I'm glad too. Relocation rather than shooting. But excuse my ignorance, being British and not living in a beaver country, isn't there some kind of a TNR programme for beavers? They do it for feral cats, why not beavers? Reduce or control the beaver population that way? Having said all that, I do find your videos very entertaining. Why not include the music of "Dambusters"???
@@christinekerr9777 I am not entirely sure but I think feral cats in britain would be a case of animals that are alien to the environment being controlled. But in the case of beavers, they are in fact native to this environment but their instinct to dam rivers and streams causes issues for human infrastructure. I dont believe that its the same as house cats going feral. This is just nature being natural
I think in all the years I've been watching you, this was one of the best vids! So satisfying watching that dam just fall apart when you weaken it's integrity! Good job on another awesome vid!
Now the expression "busy as a beaver" really makes sense. Not until you went into the culvert did it give us perspective on the size of that beaver dam. Wow! And all done in a matter of weeks.
Some of the previous videos of this location have them putting the dam up enough to raise the water level a foot in around three hours. Those furry Lil feckers are fast.
Why do I find watching these videos so, soo therapeutic? I am well chilled out after watching them. I think it must have something to do with the sound of the water and the movement of the material. I highly recommend anyone to watch one and see if they feel the same way? Thanks and please keep on doing your videos for us folk who can no longer get out and about. Thanks again.
@@russs7574 I wouldn't dismiss the lake drain saga so quickly, the job was far from stellar and I wouldn't be surprised the new culvert causes a new sinkhole menacing to take out the road above
one danger you should be aware of is when the dam gets "loose" in those metal pipes, there is a chance of the entire dam sliding down and out the pipe from the water pressure behind it. When I was a kid, I broke a few beaver dams by just sitting there and poking it with a stick. The branches and all were locked together real well but I managed to wash out all the dirt in between them by just poking and wiggling a big stick down through the cracks. I really enjoy the sound of those rocks tumbling down through the pipe. Thanks for making these videos, brings back memories and the running water is pretty peaceful.
You're right, Paul, & that's the primary reason to work from the top rear edge downward, to gradually lower the water level to relieve pressure on the dam as you go. If you work from the front edge, you run a much higher risk of the dam breaking loose from the pipe all at once, & the massive flow of released water at high volume & pressure toppling you into a raging torrent filled with mud, rocks, and tangled sticks & logs, & who knows how or when you could fight your way up & out of it to safety. Working from the back, at a minimum, gives you the chance of fleeing down the pipe & out of the way.
Depends on the size, weight, interlocking of the wood and whether there are small elements that will not simply dissolve into tiny fragments as dirt/mud will. That's part of what the large rocks do - they inhibit the flow while providing a heavy anchor for the small and large pieces of wood.
This one was amazing! If anyone doubts the power of water, especially flood waters, they should watch your videos. To hear those rocks bouncing along as they were swept away was something. Thank you for sharing this with us!
one thing i've learned from watching your videos is how amazingly industrious beavers are. it's incredible that such small critters can so effectively block such large culverts with such heavy flow! it sucks that they cause problems but I can't help but be impressed at the engineering. I sure couldn't build a dam like that in a day with nothing but sticks and mud. And I have opposable thumbs to help me!
They are truly amazing. They aren't called the construction workers of the animal world for nothing! But sadly they can't understand the concept of places they shouldn't build... I'm happy the forest rangers decided to trap instead of shoot.
@@Delcattiy let’s hope they do truly trap them and release elsewhere and not shoot them lol, and weren’t just saying it to make their agency look better

Beavers have a unique contact system. Lookouts sound the alert and man their stations. Trouble is brewing, Post. Keep your eyes open.
There must be a beaver bounty on his head by now...
I'm surprised that one didn't come up an shake its fist at him when he was taking the dam out.
@@gravelydon7072 It's not their fists.
It's their teeth!
I love this. Takes me back to my childhood in the city, always following the water and unclogging street drains, just to see water flow. I would chop holes in ice in winter to drain our alley into the sewer drain. I loved making the little rivers from the drain up the alley. I will have to watch more videos.
Probably one of my favorite one of your videos. This dam was huge and to watch it slowly but surely come down was mesmorizing!
you’ve used a rake in unclogging drains but have you considered using a garden fork or something like it to disassemble these beaver dams? seems to me like you could jab it in and dislodge a lot more branches and mud with one of those than by hand, especially if you alternated that and tugging the bigger logs and sticks loose
He says using tools are not as satisfying as demolishing by hand.
the rake may get jealous
@@MisterGames Using hand tools IS doing it by hand; as opposed to using machinery.
It was nice to see you put up the temp in both C and F for your friends on both sides of the pond post.
Both sides of the culvert ;-)
Whoa. I heard you say it was a big clog, but when you moved down to remove stuff from the bottom, that's when I realized just how big the dam is.
Unclogged a beaver dam on a pond drain today that was flooding a local park. The beavers were not happy about it. Great Vid as always post keep it up!
The industriousness and engineering abilities of these beavers never ceases to amaze me. I'm glad they chose relocation as a resolution to this issue.
Thanks for sharing
This is a good example of hard work for your community
You might use a shovel and a rack to do it easier and quicker next time
@@christinekerr9777 I am not entirely sure but I think feral cats in britain would be a case of animals that are alien to the environment being controlled. But in the case of beavers, they are in fact native to this environment but their instinct to dam rivers and streams causes issues for human infrastructure. I dont believe that its the same as house cats going feral. This is just nature being natural
@@christinekerr9777 the UK and most of Europe is beaver country 😂
Love days with multiple videos!
Thank you!
I’m a 28 year old woman from Germany watching this guy unclog “tubes” after my work shifts….I love it 💚
Is that you in your pic?
It’s crazy how satisfying watching these videos are!
Post 10 , You truly are a Working Warrior!
Remarkable dedication of getting the job done.
👍
"I can rip this dam apart in like 20 minutes with my hands."
You should put that on your resume.
Lol.
Or on a shirt with a nice drawing of the scene, That's a nice shirt quote.
Lmao
Or 3 minutes with a tool…
This is on super man resume if he wanted to go work at the hoover damn
I think in all the years I've been watching you, this was one of the best vids! So satisfying watching that dam just fall apart when you weaken it's integrity! Good job on another awesome vid!
One man army! The states, counties, townships should be cutting you a check for your dedication.
And they work at night. They do not re-use the wood they use new wood. They eat the bark off the trees
Excellent videos keep up the awesome work. The sounds of natural water in your videos is so refreshing
The beavers have issued a “Post 10 warning”
Warning? I would think they have put out a contract on him. LOL
This is one of the most satisfying deconstructions you’ve managed. It’s huge! And yet, so cool to see in pieces floating away : )
Today our valiant warrior, Post 10 does battle with the nemesis beaver's dam. Stay tuned to see what happens.
Why did I read this comment with David Attenborough's voice in my head
Outcome- post 10, 1. Beavers 0
My favourite culvert. Always hoping Post will return.
Yeah, now that the infamous "lake drain" is out of play.
And do the other Culvert, but the beavers keep him busy on the first one.
He is quite literally OSHA trained.
Depends on the size, weight, interlocking of the wood and whether there are small elements that will not simply dissolve into tiny fragments as dirt/mud will.
That's part of what the large rocks do - they inhibit the flow while providing a heavy anchor for the small and large pieces of wood.
he keeps saying he is osha trained. trained? yes. compliant? no
I agree, watch yourself doing that on the downstream side. If that dam let's go, you could get seriously hurt. 🤕
I really enjoyed the consistent and smooth patterns the culvert rapids were making this video
This one was amazing! If anyone doubts the power of water, especially flood waters, they should watch your videos. To hear those rocks bouncing along as they were swept away was something. Thank you for sharing this with us!
I used to work for a county park, removing beaver dams was one of my favorite things to do!
one thing i've learned from watching your videos is how amazingly industrious beavers are. it's incredible that such small critters can so effectively block such large culverts with such heavy flow! it sucks that they cause problems but I can't help but be impressed at the engineering.
@@sethfroman7044 very true... idk bout you but I like to stay on the more optimistic side of things
Oh my goodness you're such a inspiration to do good 👍🏻😊 when I watch your videos I find myself when traveling looking for clogged drains, pipes and culverts in the neighborhoods and busy streets ! You might just be contagious to people for them to begin to make the world a better place to live in!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful life! Be safe and healthy! Take care!
Hey Post 10! Was worried about you there for a bit. Your hands must be tired after all that. Glad a big part of that mess didn't turn loose at once. You do a fantastic job young man. Love your videos and thank you!
Excellent video of you showing the whole process of dismantling the beavers dam. And the best part, close to the end is when the remaining dam releases all at once under the water pressure. Always include this footage when showing the whole process.
watching these videos reminds me of when i was a kid and would play with water a lot.
You have no idea how relaxing it is to come home from work and put on one of your videos. The sound of the water flowing and watching it as well, it's my moment of the day that's just for me and myself... Thanks heaps man and keep up the great work.
Really interesting, although I have to admire the Beavers construction standards which are stronger than the man-made road!
You young man are amazing. Your energy and knowledge of what you do is absolutely awesome. PLEASE BE SAFE.......
The best feeling in the world? Laying on the couch, watching Post clear a clogging...randomly tapping the screen on your phone, and then seeing you have another 30 minutes to go in the video 🥰
Post 10 never surrenders to a beaver 👍thanks again for all ya do
Post 10, you are such a trooper...driving 8 hours each way to give us great content. Easily top 5 unclogging of all your videos and ultra satisfying too. I was even wincing and pulling sticks out with you on this one!
I love watching all the debris flowing down the tube as you clear it. I remember the wolf spiders in the drain the last time you were cleaning this. I am glad there are people like you who help with cleaning the same. Just be careful and maybe wear some gloves to be safe. Safety is ALWAYS first!
Hey man i just wanted to say thanks for all these wonderful videos. I have a high stress life and high anxiety. Your videos are so calming to me, gives a good sense of chill. Hey i bet you would love caving in some of these river caves we have in TN. Also please wear gloves.
I loved your reflection in the water at the 24 minute mark. It looked like you were getting help from someone under the water. Really weird but fascinating at the same time. Keep up the great work you. Are doing
the whole first 20 minutes I could see the debris SLOWLY moving with the flow, and was waiting for it to completely break through, and sweep you away. Be safe out there, man - I know you completely know your stuff! :)
I really hope the logging company, that would of spent 2-3 grand to clear the dam with a backhoe, will send you some kind of thank you!!
💚💚💚 the long format videos. You do amazing work. Thanks for sharing and be safe out there.
Your videos are so interesting. You do a good job making sure to record in a way that works for our viewing. And explaining things to us once in a while is interesting too. Thanks for sharing!!
Hi, Post 10. Over the years I can see you learn more strategies to have fun cleaning up where water is blocked, whether street drains or water pipes. Thanks for your dedication. I only have one helpful idea... Get a good strong shovel. I pity your poor hands getting all scratched up. A shovel would help a lot. Thanks for sharing! Stay Healthy!
Bravo Post 10!!! Thank goodness you love doing this because you seriously work hard at it. Your making us aware of clearing the debris from our street grates so as not to cause a flood. Hopefully that township reimburses you for all your time and trouble, gas ,lodging etc...Continue doing what you do and make the towns aware of what they can do to help. You can't be everywhere. Thank you for sharing your video's. I can't believe I watched over an hour, but I enjoyed every second. Very educational.
I only got to watch this so late due to work elsewhere. The beavers are very resilient at this! Thank you for the short movie on the removal of the dam. Keep up the good work alongside the forest rangers as they have the same role in preventative maintenance.
Those damn beavers are always keeping Post10 busy
I think they have a crush on him. 🥰😂

Well Done Post 10, always enjoy watching you young man 🤜🤛
One of your most deeply satisfying videos yet. Complete joy from beginning to end. Loved it when the top of the dam started moving on its own due to water pressure an the wonderful bow waves in the tunnel after 35 mins or so. Great work
Thanks for adding the Celsius, much appreciated.
You're gonna lose your ring if you aren't careful! Really love these videos. They've inspired me to look around my own neighborhood more carefully to find out where all the water drains to.
I just found these videos in 2024. So entertaining and informative. Beavers are boss builders. They’re super crafty. But no match for Post10!
😂😂😂
Great entertainment!! And very much needed work. Nice to see you letting the water help you remove the dam. Keep up the good work!!
I sure enjoy hearing the rocks rolling through.
