- I made a microphone booth in very simple pvc pipe frame
Five cotton quilted curtains are put on the PVC frame, and sound absorbing sponges are attached to the inside.
Overall dimensions are 1.1x1.1x2.1 meters (WxDxH).
it would be nice to see how you attached the sponges
I agree with this
This is great, but no links to materials? Can you please provide links to where you got the materials? The diameter of the PVC? Did you have to cut them? Where did you get your grommeted blankets? Can you do measurements in feet/inches please? Thank you!
I think you'd get a better result doing it the other way around (foam on the outside, blankets on the inside)
The blankets are there to stop reverberation while the foam is there to absorb sound...
Do you have links to the materials?
this looks fantastic! ❤
How did you do the padding in the inside
I’m gonna do mine with Velcro
@@PlanetIrv Would you mind checking how much this blocks the sound from the outside? Would really appreciate it!
I wanna practice vocals, but can't due to living in an apartment with super thin walls (can literally hear my neighbour pee). Don't wanna build this only to realize it doesn't help that much 🤣
@@JamieR currently working on it, but I’m building mine 4 x 4 x 6 feet. So 6 feet tall. Also a rug below will help some
I’ll get back to you about the sound, I might do a video on it
@@JamieR
finished and recorded final vocals for a song
The difference is pretty amazing
Sound can get in but if you have a reasonably quiet house should fine
I can’t hear any reflections at all, meaning all most or all are absorbed, and mic picks up mostly from voice
@@PlanetIrv do a vid on it bro , I’m tryna build one kinda like yours like I’m 6 ft jus need sum decent & simple …… my room is like 6’8 6’9 between da ceiling & da floor full size bedroom
I'm literally going to make this
You better! 😄
You could figuratively make it too as a means of evoking a powerful statement about your ambitions in life.
Really would like to know how you attached the acoustic panels!
Needles if you wanna be able to take them off, glue if you know you gonna use it a long time
where did you get the blankets that were desitned for this fit? awesome video!
Very cool. Where did you get these curtains with these small loops?
Did the curtain have a window or did you add that? Also where did you order these curtains?
Very good ideas thank you
does it get hot inside? how do you deal with the heat?
open the door
a fan is not an option when recording, FIRE IN THE BOOTH!!!
just move to a colder country. Problem solved.
If youre in the US just live in Alaska. Sovlem Proved.
How was the foam fastened to the quilts?🤔
💩
What size pipe did you use?
💪🏾💯🎶🎶🎶
Does it block outside noise?
it won’t fully block out the noise but it will greatly reduce how the impact the microphone, if use a noise gate on ur microphone as well as this booth u can achieve some very high quality recordings
this is for the reverb only
One suggestion, next time, could you please turn the music up in the mix even more? I can still kind of hear the demonstration of the booth.
Ye, great feedback - much better than creating helpful content yourself…
@@johnywaIker I hear ya, what would I know about creating content. I’m only a multiple Emmy winner that’s worked on $200M features & Emmy winning TV shows for over 20 years. Also, sarcasm is my love language. Here, I’ll try it in a more helpful tone. Try to find the balance between being artistic with your video style, from shooting to editing, while keeping the function of what your video is supposed to teach. Don’t let the art take over the function, while also not letting the function suffocate the art. It’s ok to bring down the music level to demonstrate how acoustics of what you built sound. That was the entire point of the video, to hear how well your hard efforts worked. I honestly didn’t mean any harm with my comment, I was just frustrated. Cheers!
What are the links to the curtains?
exactly. give us some info
It's cheaper to use "Moving Blankets" from Home Depot or Lowes..
zip ties...
I found them www.amazon.com/Blanket-US-Cargo-Control-Inches/dp/B07W7XQ8V7/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=1C5GJ197DZO9S&keywords=quilted+curtains+for+sound&qid=1676662021&sprefix=quilted+curtains+for+sound%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-1-spons&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.08f69ac3-fd3d-4b88-bca2-8997e41410bb&psc=1&smid=ALSBC6Q12C0CN&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExQ1pPMjQ0UjBYWjVYJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUExMDAwNTI4M0o5VENMSjZaTTk2WSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUExMDQ2NjUwMU9XVUY5Qk81REY3SyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl
@@deadpill but how do you attach them without grommets?
How much I d the booth
just 25k
1 pvc pipe is 1$
What's with these vocal booth videos where they blast music over top when they're inside the booth so you can't get any idea how it actually sounds? Lame.
It'd be nice to hear what it actually sounds like in the booth, with a real microphone and not some terrible karaoke
