I love this, im always re reading and watching to understand the battles better to help me create my dnd large scale tactics. Thank you for the video, im looking forward to back watching!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you are finding this so useful. I plan to expand on this and add more interactive maps as well to further explain the motions in each battle easier. Thanks for the support
@@onenerdtorulethem-all Animated maps like you see with some history RUclipsrs would be awesome for LOTR content! Taking book descriptions of things to animate them, of course
Where do I find more information about the early drafts of lord of the rings? It was really interesting when you mentioned that the battle of the Hornburg did not exist in earlier drafts. I've always had a sneaking suspicion that must have been the case because it seems to follow the same formula as the siege of Gondor
Hi thanks for your comment. I looked around for information a fair bit, you are 100% correct in feeling that the Hornburg and Gondor were following the same stream of thinking, systematically they are very one and the same just different locations. I looked for some info on the Tolkien Estate website and a website called Den of Geek has some cool stuff about other differences from the story we know and love today. So I would encourage you looking at those because they both have some good reads on there. Thanks again for the support!
@@onenerdtorulethem-all I'm curious what you think of Tolkien having basically the same battle happen twice? Do you think it's overly-repetitive storytelling, or is there enough differences to where it doesn't bother you? My thoughts are kind of conflicted after my latest re-read, and I'd like to hear another fan's opinion
This is good content hopefully your channel gets popular!
@Mornings thank you! I appreciate it, glad you enjoyed the video and fingers crossed 🤞

@@newsaxonyproductions7871 this is definitely something I am planning on working my way up to in the future just slowly learning new skills
I would recommend looking into the Second Siege of Vienna. It's suspiciously similar to the Siege of Minas Tirith
Good video! Very detailed and I appreciate the play by play descriptions of the battle
thank you, I tried my best!
awesome break down thank you
I appreciate it. Feel free to let me know what you want to see in the future
Breakdowns aren’t usually awesome. Kinda painful actually 😂
@@alst4817 mental breakdowns are usually quite rough... car ones aren't that great either
I enjoyed the image of a 'Raving Steward Denethor' imagining him at a club or something partying hard.
That's what really drove him to madness. Not enough clubs in Minas Tirith to rave in

For "early drafts" of LotR see:
The History of Middle-earth Volumes VI-IX
I'm sorry, it is the siege of Minas Tirith. Gondor is an entire country, with a mountain range through the middle, and multiple cities.
@InevitableMe that's okay, it is known as both the siege of Gondor and the siege of Minas Tirith so both are correct
i dont get your story line im sorry.
Sorry to hear that, but I appreciate your feedback
