Thank you so much for this great video! My dad was the lead carpet Installer for several casinos in Atlantic City NJ. He did beautiful work, like you do. I wish he were still here. I have a sub floor repair to do In the center of a big living room, of manufactured home. It would be great to not have to pull up such a big carpet & then have to reinstall it again. I have seen my dad glue seams like this my whole life, but i just don't remember or I just didn't notice, if he was doing Berber any of those times. Can this be done with Berber and look seamless like that, as well? Thank you again!
Way better then other diy videos where they just put it together and walk away. That looks like it'll hold way longer and how you are the only one that a saw seal the edge
I was a carpetlayer for over 30 yrs and I still don't understand why you have to glue the edges before you glue the carpet together. In my opinion, it's a scam by the industry. I don't "seal" the edges and have never had an issue. As a matter of fact, I can do invisible seams. For those who want to know I've been doing it since the days when we sewed the seams. I was one of the 1st installer in Canada to use hot melt tape.
You were showing us how to put the glue on the back of the carpet and then you flip the carpet back over and we don't get to see you to do it what the hell
This is the best, straight-forward, matter-of-fact carpet seam video on youtube. No BS'ing around. Thanks!
i was literally going to just comment the same thing. lol

Everyone probably sees it, says 'awesome', then walks away. That's what I almost did. ;-)
I can not locate the vacuum you are using. What is it called?
