Amazing wow so uplifting.... A sheikh once said people who object to things like this should ask themselves do they really love muhammad (saw)... The shiekh here clearly loves rasool allah and feels compelled to sing his love and salawat i find it moving and uplifting.
10 wahabis/salafis dislike this video.. Just because Sheikh Tijani is reciting durood on Our Master Muhammad صلی الله علیہ وسلم in his style, he is African, he had his take on it. Not only that he is a humorous character, but he gets the point across, like in this video, so for all the bidah brigade, try to understand and look beyond your narrow minds and accept the message behind the light heartedness..
So even though there's no singing or 'entertaiment' in Islam per se, but it is so fulfilling. This is the true happiness. And it makes your life full of joy & happiness. Allah has blessed us all [as Muslims], so we should praise Him & thank Him. We don't have any musical instruments or concerts/dancing going on in the Masjids, but what we do is more fulfilling that anything of this world! ☺ A gnostic once said, 'If the kings knew what we had, they would try to take it from us by the sword!'
No one ever claimed that singing or entertainment in its nature is haram. The difference of opinion is on musical instruments. And ofcourse, entertainment that is mixed with prohibited things (free mixing, alcohol etc) makes that entertainment haram.
Theres nothing with wrong in sending blessings on the Prophet(SaW) Narrates ‘A’ishah: Once on an Eid day, Abyssinians came and started dancing in the mosque. The Prophetﷺ called me. I placed my head on his shoulder and started watching their performance. He did not stop me until I myself got tired of watching them and turned away. [Source: Sahih Muslim] Anas bin Malik said that the Abyssinians danced in front of Allah's Messengerﷺ while saying “Muhammad is a Righteous Servant [of God]” (in their language) upon which Allah's Messengerﷺ asked, “What are they saying?” And they responded in Arabic, “Muhummadun ‘Abdun Saalihun." [Sahih Hadith, Al-Musnad of Imam Ahmad]
One of our Imams relayed to us that in his Masjid, he used to have some church groups visit them, and they would come & see the Salah. They would be impressed by the Salah, they would like it. They would see the Khutbah, and see the worship of the Muslims in the Masjid. But quite often, they would ask the question: "You don't have any singing in your Mosques? No group to sing 'n perform for you in the Mosque?" They said, No. This is our worship. This is how it is. The worship of the Creator...
I was wondering why there was a resurgence of interest in this OLD video I made... Now I know, thanks to you. I went to view the coach's video, but I don't speak Turkish. I wish I did!
Can you imagine living with the Congregationl Salah? Can you imagine living without having the concept of Ramdan? No fasting, no taraweeh, no breaking your fast {that happiness & pleasure that comes with eating your 1st dates when you're hungry}. Can you imagine how deprived a person would be, when they don't have the concept of Hajj? They don't know what Hajj is, they've never seen it, they never experienced it. ....Without having the celebration of 'Eid.
That is the spirit of Islam right here! Something many have abandoned! Swaying and feeling with his very essence is not dancing. Furthermore, please explain how dancing is haram again?
When people sing islamic songs, it is going to resemble their host culture obviously, go to each muslim country and you will see people reciting quran with a different sort of tune which resembles the ways of singing in that land (e.g. see recitations in somalia vs saudi). If you look at egyptian/arab music, you will see that that tonality is similar to how the quran reciters in that country recite quran. You will see that indian/pakistani nasheeds resemble the secular singing (usually classical singing) in that land. You will find that Quran was revealed to pre-Islamic arabs, and you cannot understand the rhetoric of the Quran without understanding pre-islamic poetry: the Revelation, although universal, is at the same time 'local' and contextual to the time it was revealed in. It is silly to think God would make the majority of muslims non-Arab, and expect them to copy saudi-only cultural ways of singing/expressing themselves. Please read the history of islam, look at all the diversity of stuff that came out. Our idea of islam is so 'arabized'.
And when you see the sight of 2 million people, in Taraweeh Prayer, in Masjid Al-Haraam (in Makkah) prostrating together, bowing together, listening to the recitation of the Quran - it's a pretty powerful scene. * When you look @ Hajj, there's no 'singing' going on at Hajj, but it's a powerful image. So a Muslim who experiences this ...Just think about: how deprived a person is, if they don't have Salah in their lives. Could you imagine living without making sujood (prostrating to your Creator)?
I uploaded 10 years ago... the actual recording was about 15 years ago. This is just a small section of a lecture that was about 2 hours long. Unfortunately the original VHC tape is lost.
---- When the Sheikh (in the video) said: "Are you in the grove?" & started singing --- I ROFL LOL @ that part.... if dat were 2 happen at our Masjid, like da Khateeb or Imam started singin' n shakin' on the pulpit like he did, ppl wud go crazY!!!
Whats the difference between this and how South Asians make salawat in a South Asian sound, Egyptians have their own style as opposed to a Yemeni durood or Malaysians sound Malay, Sudanese have their own style, etc? If the American ummah, want to praise the Prophet (saw) in this manner alhamdulillah, you're just making problems were none exist.
There's no musical instruments and he hasn't said anything wrong. So why make your own conclusion that what he's doing wrong whilst cursing. There are many cultures within Islam. If he uses a different style or voice that you're not used to, then it's no basis to conclude it's wrong.
Even 13th century scholars did not speak like someone of the people in here. They even concluded each opinion or statement with and Allah knows best. And had far more etiquette too. Most of us commenting here are your average Jo, born centuries after the salaf and the classical scholars. Remember, you're just an ordinary Muslim and not a leader, a teacher or a scholar with permission to pass down teachings or hadith narrations.
@splendid99 Is this how YOUR Islam is?? is this how the Nabi asked us to praise him? NO! Rather it is your desires and the shaitan the misguides you! And I ask Allah to correct you and me. This is not I'baddah/worship. This is not even close to it, but rather so far from that it resembles a Pastor in a church singing he's heart out to the shaitan, assuming he is calling on to god!! I say to you, learn your deen as it should be followed and not what is pleasing to desires.
@immyovuk Whoever told you that has misguided you, may allah forgive you and guide you, please return to the Sunnah of Muahmmed (saw) if you claim to love him.

When you hear the Quran, the lining up in the Salah, the movement in cohesion with everybody else ~ the whole sight of Salah is impressive.
