Researchers believe a cure for EB is possible by 2030 and you can help at give.ebresearch.org/johnhudson_sbsk . This is a fundraiser for the EB Research Partnership in John Hudson’s name. If everyone who wants to help John contributes just a bit, it will go a long way in helping to find a cure. Thank you for helping John and the many others who are impacted by EB.

Good god. Some of these comments are so corney. It's not that someone said it. It's that some 50 year old grown adult thinks it's not crazy to be posting on mentally ill digital forums. When Facebook first came out it was just kids. Still not healthy but an excuse was that it was just dumb kids. Then all the boomera get jealous and start joining, ruining there party. Then it just proved our society is dooned.
Maybe just post how you feel. Seriosuly. Who is the target audience of this post? You say "bigger man than any of us", so your target audience is men? But your comment is something an adult would say trying to impress a child. So which is it?
I'm sure John would appreciate my thoughtfulness. He's obviously a deep thinker, and has some criticisms about modern society implied by his impression with Japan over the west.
I can imagine some commenter gasping reading this, like "omg, the gravity of the situation". Yes we know. You're not treating him with respect if you think my criticism of this childish comment hurts his feelings. I'm criticizing our dumb culture. Not him.

@@godsstrongestschizo I think the original comment has a point, though. We should be more grateful for what we have, and remember those who are less fortunate than us rather than looking up to those more fortunate than us. It helps put life in better perspective, and calibrates your level of gratitude and satisfaction. So while this doesn’t mean we should shut down any urge to complain or feel frustrated (which are perfectly normal human emotions), we should indeed realize that we are in a better position than millions (if not most) of the world’s population. Even the ability to hear, see, and feel, are tremendous blessings from the Creator.
Remember: the happiest people are not those who have more - but those who need less.

Eb advocate, superhero, motivational speaker, involved with friends and family and charity. Lot of love in this guy, which he gives freely and is returned in spades. I have MS and had a bad day then I saw this young man. I thought two things. Reading through the comments, I want you all to know that just because you don't have it as bad as John Hudson, doesn't mean your pain is invalid. We all have our struggles and they are just as real and impactful as they feel to you. The human body and brain are amazing at adapting, and some of us go through unthinkable traumas. But you don't need to be one of those people to justify your emotions, your feelings, your pain, your stress. The thought that "I can't complain because others have it worse" is incredibly self-deprecating and doesn't appreciate you for who you are as a person. Love yourself and those around you! Ask for help when you need it. The only person you should compare yourself to is your past self, because we always want to be learning and growing. Abandon toxic ideas like "I'm not worth it" or "I don't have the right to speak". We can appreciate and share love for ourselves at the same time as we share it for John. We can acknowledge that he has it worse, but also acknowledge that we ourselves may need help or relief. These concepts can exist together!

Thank you curo. Everything you said is true. I feel great compassion and empathy for this guy. The Bible basically states that when one grows old it to teach compassion in others. I don't believe growing old is a prerequisite for that though. I do believe that people come into our lives that are ill to help teach the true nature of love. Without intention he's doing that. Not only to be loved, but to love. We have to show that love to ourselves as well. God bless this incredible, brave young man. I wish him and his family the very best. He one day like the rest of us will cross over and leave his ailing body behind. His soul will go on unhindered and into the arms of total love. All is not lost.
