More like it Acsom with Tony Roper a brilliant comedic talent and writer who sums up everything that is great about working class Scots making a success. These podcasts really are about the broader working class culture of great Scottish figures and the stories from Roper were so entertaining. These pods are about Scottish culture so thanks for doing them.

This is great, as a Fifer who grew up in a coal mining family, it was interesting to hear Tony recount his memories working in Bowhill. What a Celtic family we are, makes me very proud. Keep this great show going. Love and respect to all, ye ken like.

Listening to Tony Roper is a delight; his candid manner, devoid of any pretense, a great ambassador for Celtic. I could listen to his stories for hours and only wish it lasted longer.......
    Not on a bum note!

The "Coronation Cup Song," associated with Celtic Football Club, was written by the Irish folk singer and songwriter Glen Daly. The song celebrates Celtic's victory in the 1953 Coronation Cup, a football tournament held to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Celtic won the tournament by defeating Hibernian in the final, and the song commemorates that achievement. Glen Daly was known for his love of Celtic and also famously performed the "Celtic Song," which became an anthem for the club.

Tony is surely up there with greatest comedians and entertainers Scotland ever produced; from Rikki Fulton, Jack Milroy, Robbie Coltrane, Gregor Fisher, Big Yin, Stanley Baxter. Folk rant and rave about Still Game and the likes, but they're not a patch on Rab C - series 1-6. The best Scottish sitcom for me, absolutely timeless! Cheers for the laughs, Tony, Hail Hail! 💚

Brilliant interview, Acsom absolutely smashing it out the park, none of us are perfect and in this modern age we are so quick to bring people down and slaughter them. Neil Lennon is Celtic to the core, He would give his all for Celtic and that should be good enough.

I have always liked and admired Neil Lennon and I always will be. Anyway, like the rest of us, Tony knows that a percentage of supporters within Celtic are absolutely entitled fannies - I call them the boo bhoys - if a pass goes astray, they are shouting the building down, constantly berating etc. It is one of the reasons I gave up my season tickets, due to the negativity and all the shouting of obscenities when I was in Parkhead with my children. (I regret it now, obviously).

I am only leaving just the small tip, because I need to save the rest of my pocket money for the Tommy statue (not Sheridan), and perhaps enough change for an Irn Bru and a Macaroon Bar! I watched the morning podcast, Jim Orr his usual worst critic, you were most certainly not a passenger, but also why would you not want to just listen to Tony. There is people who would buy that chair from you. All three hosts were great at prompting and poking, this could have been a three hour show! You have to watch to the end, I almost pished myself for the fifth time. What a legend Tony, incredible stories. These shows are top three for me now in great TV behind Gone Fishing with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse and W/ Iona. Please keep Jim at an end seat, everyone wants that side view of the glorious mullet. 😍

Tony Roper, a legend in Rab C but he also played a small but very significant part in The Wicker Man, a classic and cult movie. Sadly Tony’s part was cut from the original film and only restored much later in the. Directors Cut version. Would love to hear Tony talk about the making of that film and how he got the part.
