It's amazing what watching dramas even with only english subtitles can do for you haha my brain knew exactly how 帮/帮助/帮忙 is applied without knowing any of the actual rules just because after a while the incorrect application will just sound off. I recommend that everyone tries to listen to a ton of casual conversations because sometimes your brain really does the work for you to get the ~feeling~ of a language
@@SkincarewithAliKhalid Sorry, I'm not sure what you are asking about.. what I meant is that if you hear the correct way to say something enough times your brain will learn it even if you don't consciously know all the rules. You get so used to the way you have heard others speak that you will automatically know when a sentence is or isn't correct, even without thinking about it. Because it derives from subconscious memorization rather than logic, I describe this feeling of knowing something is wrong as it "sounding off"
Thank you! This was very informative with a wonderful teaching approach. You are very good at identifying the nuances of language and turning them into fun and easy to understand lessons 😃
I used the time machine theory the other day to help me figure out a sentence in Chinese! 😆 You truly are a great teacher Shuoshuo. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you for your videos! I'm Russian, studied Chinese in Chongqing for 1 year 8 yeas ago, I miss China so much! I literally cry listening to your videos because of nostalgia.... I wish I could return to this amazing country one day...
I haven't had a chance to put this in practice, but about 请客 not taking a noun. Obviously it can't take the noun after, as in 今天我要请客朋友, but can't it be introduced before, with 给? 今天给朋友请客 Or is this an issue with the verb+noun construction that prevents it from taking another noun for some reason that I can't seem to remember? Looking for alternatives to 今天我请你 which does not specifically convey the meaning of treating someone to dinner.
Can you please do a video for brands and famous tv shows and characters, like Superman,Batman, avengers, Barbie ...I find this very tricky thing,I know Chinese will understand if you say those words in English but I want train my brain to speak only Chinese so I don't want use English words
I learned 体育馆 for gym, but my teachers said while it does mean gym, it can be as large as a stadium. We later learned 健身房 but they said it was usually a smaller gym, like what a hotel might have. Is there really a difference between the two?
Okay so instead of saying 現在我準備好了 I should say 我現在準備好了 because the emphasis is on 現在. It is like saying "I am ready now" to imply I wasn't ready before. This is also implied by the 了 I guess.
As an English teacher, I have a whole book on the different mistakes made by students from different language backgrounds. The languages you know already have a big impact on the mistakes you make when learning a new language.
In Spanish speaking countries in S America, + Portuguese speaking Brasil people borrow English shopping mall but use their word order N + Adj supposedly shopping is N, + mall, is Adj "Let' s go to the shopping."
I had a student in Taiwan tell me "I went to a party but the food was only a dot dot.". I asked "Do you mean 一点点? That's a little bit. We don't say a dot dot."
But if he want to say his boyfriend treat him can't she say Nan pengyou What he want to say he she can say ..and Grammer don't stop you to say lines what you want
@@ShuoshuoChinese Hello Shuoshuo, first of all I apologize for having badly dictated your first name, secondly I congratulate you on having succeeded in imitating a beginner in Chinese. you're the only one doing it, well done

Shuo I'm a beginner in Chinese and actually I do not make these mistakes. I think it's because I come from a Cantonese background.
有可能!
@@ShuoshuoChinese是的。因为中文和英文的语法有点儿一样但也有不同. 所以很多外国人有困難😅. 你的视频真有意思!

Taiwanese students make a similar mistake. They will say "I like to go to shopping." and I say "Shopping is not a place you go to."

2) You could ask Chinese Embassy.
Perhaps some university or company needs Urdu speakers?
Good luck!!!
