So right, Krizz. We SHOULD be able to mention differences without having to qualify them first. We are one race, but we come from different places. I have attended different 'white' churches and enjoyed aspects of all. I have attended 'black' churches and enjoyed aspects of all. You are spot on about the choir. 2 things I really enjoyed in black churches, the choir/music, and a 'fired-up' preacher. You can't help but tap your foot, raise your hand, and say "Amen".
Viva la difference!!! Embrace it and learn from it. I'm a 67yo, 'country boy', white man and, right now, one of my best friends is a 70+yo, inner-city, black man. I'm a 1 hitch USAF vet, he's a 30-year career USN vet. We CAN all get along, if we want to. (Though, between AF and Navy, it's tough. lol)

Since "Trigger" was already taken, Mick Jones suggested "Foreigner." The name reflected the band's international makeup: Mick Jones, Ian McDonald, and Dennis Elliott were English, while Lou Gramm, Al Greenwood, and Ed Gagliardi were American. Thus, in any country, three members would always be foreigners.Jul 11, 2024

Lou Gramm, the lead vocalist departed from the band in 1990 but returned in 1992 and continued with them for another 10+ years. For me the band was never the same w/out him. Had the amazing fortune to see Foreigner headline in 1994 @ The PNC in Jersey, along with STYX, REO Speedwagon and Peter Frampton. Yes, all in one show! To say it was awesome is an understatement. Would luv to hear more Foreigner reactions as well as maybe Frampton & REO. 👍

The biggest difference between choirs is the type of choir being used. You have the choirs that celebrate and sing from the soul and you have the choirs that pay more attention to pitch and the notes. Professional choirs are more about the notes and pitch. It's more about following the actual written music than it is about substance. I belonged to more than one of the first choirs in my lifetime.

This song broke up the group and even today there are hurt feelings. As they were recording it they had multiple studios in the building with certain members working on different parts in different studios. They had always shared song writing credits even with the singer to various extents because he would bring it to life with inflections and creative passion in certain parts. etc. Song writing credits are not just about money but also it is about acknowledgment for their contribution. It is true there was one person who was responsible for the majority of it but the lead singer always got a cut. On this song the main writer about cut the singer all the way out of it which was a huge slap in the face. There is no foreigner group without the this lead singer. It would be like the Supremes without Diana Ross.
