Thank you for this video. OPI and VPI can be a very isolated job without colleagues to debrief with. This is very helpful! Thanks for reminding us that we can always describe a term if we don’t know it The four hour interpretation that you mentioned was concerning. In my training I have learned that you can excuse yourself from excessively long sessions that last more than two hours so four hours is crazy! In addition the nurses telling you to get comfortable and converse with the patient and the family seems to violate a standard of practice of professionalism. I have no doubt you were being professional but our role is to interpret. In my training I learned to turn off the camera or microphone when the medical professional leaves the room. I’d like to hear your feedback.

Our company has told us not to converse with the patients. I now politely decline any interaction. I have not had any sessions over 2 hours lately, but i have been working 10 or 11 hours shifts and that starts to take a toll on accuracy and overall health as well.

Greetings. Thank you very much for the video!. I have one question, what did you meant with the word "visualization" that you mentioned in the minute 10:31. Thank you again!

You’re welcome. What I mean by visualization is to imagine what is said. For example if I say, “The kid was playing down by the park with a red ball.” Most people can see this scenario in their minds. If you are one of those people you can use it to your advantage because it will be easier to recall the sentence

I've met interpreters who can do 30-minute interventions at a time, how crazy is that?

Impressive is the adjective I would use to describe such an incredible feat.
