    Very interesting! I never knew this sport existed. They race very similar to professional long distance bike races. Where you draft behind each other, there are breakaways, and the main group is the peloton.

      Weler Martins even the most seasoned gets them, if my memory serves me right.. last year or so a pro cyclist quit the tour because of one

      @@borisstarosta7823 In actuality, saddle sores can be for life. After finishing 14 100+ mile cycling tours and another 50 half centuries, I retired from long distance cycling and now happily inline skate with no issues concerning my ass pain that I still experience when I lie down at night. My glutes continue to experience pain after all these years. Quit cycling now before you damage your prostrate and gluteas muscles permanently.

    I've competed at the North American Inline Skating Championships/Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota. Watching this makes me want to go to Barcelona.
    Inline lives and is strong in Europe.
    I've competed in both cycling and inline - I'll take inline any day.

      @@StephenLaneRealEstate great cross training for cycling, as skating is weight bearing and cycling is not. higher heart rate, less miles and time. formerly raced both and coached many moons ago. club in almost every city in USA. indoor as well. indoor great place to learn, and less road rash while learning. much harder than cycling.

    I knew speed teams existed for skaters. I was on a team in the 90's, but never knew there was a marathon version of the sport. This would be way more fun than level, indoor rinks!! This makes me want to get back into long distance skating.

    インラインスケートは遊びで滑る人が多いと思ってたけど、トップ選手はアスリートだな。。参加人数の多さに驚く。ヨーロッパではツールドフランスとか日本ではあまり注目されないけど魅力的なスポーツが多いですね。抜きつ抜かれつの展開が面白い。

      Remember that 42km/h is average so they likely went over 50km/h at high speed

      Look up the straight leg deadlift (romanian deadlift). Your back can be stable with your chest low.

      It's hard to explain, but speed skating seems to help my back. I always kept it straight and the coach kept telling me to relax and arch. No problems and a back that feels very good after. Perhaps I'm damaging it little by little without realizing though, who knows...

      That advise is outdatet. The 126° posture especially pupils instinctively adopt helps the back because the back-rest of the chair takes more weight of your back. Just FYI :)

    In this Busy world Everything becomes Race Just like Running,Running A Marathon whoever run until the end with patient and great strength will win the race, during your race you will see different kinds of obstacles you will see different kinds of people with different kinds of moods.But the race determine you how you performs during your training times or off fields. So Everything is what you do during your free time determines the true Version of yourself

    In theory, if group of skaters made a train, and worked together, hand on back, pushing from back to front, they'd be able to go faster than any one else

      Speed skating both indoors and outdoors really does kill your back. Sit ups to strengthen the abs and lower back are a must or else you will be dying before the end of practice.

      @@Criam Well they definitely don't do max potential the whole time. Pacing and knowing your limits and what you can save for the end takes a lot of practice and training
