    You are apt with this. I have been victim of this on my oil palm plantation two years in a row in one of my plantations. We have lost over 500 seedlings to fire. Now we are going to restart that particular farm entirely next year, with three meters terracing, and possibly dig a ditch around the 6 hectares and fill with water during dry season.

    I think fire terrace is necessary even if you are surrounded by farms. What if your neighbours farm catch fire.
