Also I think the reason Snowball was lying down is because his face was partially deformed, possibly making him recover physically. He IS made of snow.
I'm personally thinking that Two's complaints not making much sense is probably because we just don't know much about him yet in general. Maybe as TPOT progresses, we'll actually learn some more stuff about Two beyond him just being the host of TPOT and then his whole conversation with Gaty will make more sense in hindsight.
@@milkshakedraws6944 Bruh, the reason it took so long was because the team was taking a break and Satomi and Pokey ended up rewriting the *entire* episode like once or twice. AND the development of the episode was rocky cuz the episode was large and stressful. Satomi was literally animating 1 scene a day and even Cary stepped in to help. He animated about 2 minutes of the episode. That's a LOT of work. Satomi confirmed on her updates that the rest of the episodes will be much shorter and easier to manage so they'll probably come out around every 3 to 5 months if Michael and Cary's explanation video (The Secret Behind BFB's Split) is to be trusted. The team did fine and the episodes will be out significantly faster according to Satomi's updates on her YT channel's community tabs (specifically update 12).
We khow he a batter host than fuor cuz he. Care Abut his constans and not rasonly kill them Of he kill One It was an accdeindeny like pen that got crished by recorvry center two recoved him Also Rubber stapula sad where nobody like him two made a sad face
The inclusion of Teardrop is also weird when you consider that she already ranked 3RD in BFB, not to mention she got more than double the screentime she had in both BFDI and BFDIA, ON TOP OF THE FACT we already had a double debut in episode 1. It’s almost as if the crew just really wanted to force her into the show without her really needing to be there.
If you watched BFB, Teardrop went missing a few days, said by one of the contestants in it. This is probably why teardrop went missing in BFB and explaining why teardrop joined tpot.
Cary once said he wanted a team with one person. In BFDI 12 team no name was originally gonna stay just Firey so he would have to work by himself. But he was so eager to add points to the game because he always liked tracking a contestant’s progress over time
Personally, TPOT 1 feels a bit too straightforward of an episode. We've got the debut, team picking, and the challenge with very little in between. While there's nothing wrong with that, it makes the episode a little boring on rewatch. What I appreciate about TPOT 2 is that it has more of the contestants being more casual. The humor is better and I love how much character interaction there is, especially with characters from different teams. That said, it's painfully obvious that they had to do a lot of padding just so the 25:00 minute counter was consistent. Apart from the examples you mentioned there were several moments that felt unnecessarily slow to me, like Pen slowly trying to think about what the other teams will do if Eraser knocks down their stacks, or Coiny very slowly lifting and dropping his team's blocks when he could've just said "Let's use glue", or Just Not talking about their missing teammates. Yes for the last one they wanted to show Book has grown from accusing people of abandoning them, but the scene is really uninteresting since Nickel, Cake, and Book are just sitting around doing nothing. I don't know if I'd say Two's feelings towards math are inconsistent. I hate math, it's been my worst school subject, but I don't mind using just the basics in everyday life like counting or multiplying. Besides that, the Gaty Two stuff is whatever. Lol Golf Ball hogging screentime from her team is just something to be expected at this point. She did it on A Better Name Than That she'll definitely do it here as well. Makes me glad Eraser left so he could get some much needed attention.
VERY true. I also noticed lots of smaller padding moments that you noticed. I mainly didn’t talk about them because I wanted to focus on the more time-consuming ones. While your point on Two hating math makes a lot of sense, (there’s some math that I DESPISE and some that I really like) I still find it weird how they ask “What do I get from math?!” Even though math had to be very useful during the eliminations. I still see it as a character inconsistency.
From a writing perspective, TPOT 1 is better. For enjoyability however, TPOT 2 is way better imo. Better jokes, fun character interactions, but yeah it’s also very flawed. My only issues where the small moments that felt like obvious padding to stretch time, but you introduced more flaws that I didn’t even notice. Thankfully, Satomi said the episodes will be shorter going forward, meaning less extended filler moments, I also have to agree with most of what you said about Gaty and Two, mostly for how forced some of the dialogue is. One example, Gaty tells Two that she’s talking about inanimate numbers, the ones without faces. So why would Two make the comparison of calling them girls instead of gates. That would’ve made more sense since there aren’t any inanimate girls.
True. I think the episode is the way it is because of how it was made. The script alone was stretched out for so long that I'm pretty sure they forgot certain ideas they had set up
@@Dream_Sweet_In_Sea_Major I have no idea. Does their gender entirely depend on their voice? Because if so then Golfball should be male, does that mean Golfball is trans???? It doesn’t make much sense.
@@Dream_Sweet_In_Sea_Major this is something that really confused me, how does gender get assigned to literal objects?? there's the voice idea try mentioned, but someone could sound like a girl/guy while being the cis opposite- honestly i just prefer to avoid the topic in general, it's just-
I feel like Pin only agreed with the Clock swing plan, and the basket twinkle plan, because Loser suggested those plans, and of course, nobody can disagree with Loser. At least in the pre-split part of BFB. But I definitely agree that Pin overreacting about Coiny’s glue idea was just pointless.
Still no really, in BFDIA Coiny came up with an actively dangerous plan, being to light Bomby which was guaranteed to kill him, and then chuck him into GB's Factory, which could've killed off all of Team No-Name, while sabotaging them, and Pin didn't care, with no Loser in sight, why would she? It guarenteed them a win. According to current writing, Pin is okay with literally attempting to murder a whole team and destroy their chance at winning, but not glueing some blocks together.
@@_antisocialmedia6377 Well they were on an unfairly small team, I think she was more willing to allow strings to be pulled if it meant them winning at the time. And even then, murder in this world is extremely inconsequential.
The Gaty part of her throwing the "and I chose to be a girl" was a callback to Two saying it was weird both they and numbers were called that, and it would be weird if it was called "girls", so that's where's from, but I can see how they basically got no where in the conversation, with them going back to catch the viewer on
I agree with most of the video, however I felt the Gaty/Two rant to be a bit nitpicky. I get that it felt a bit unnatural as a conversation and such, but tbh that's just how conversations go sometimes, trailing off into something else. I thought the scenes were nice because it was cool to cut back and see what was happening outside of the stacking scenes. Pin waiting for Two to finish and jumpscaring him was especially funny as well. Also Just Not was literally amazing this episode. I find it funny that Cake, who I signed up for in a camp nearly 2 years ago now, has become one of my favourite characters from this episode. Pillow was really funny too
I agree with you on most of the points like -the pacing -some teams having way more screen time than others -The useless sub plots -The filler -The length of the video(especially because the challenge already being done in BFDI 6 and in a shorter time too) -The animation quality -Teardrop Joining (making Pie elimination pointless) But there are some things I like, I two and gaty subplot because it’s gives two some character than some of the other hosts, Some of the things in the beginning are nice, some of the joke, and etc. Overall it’s still good but not as good as Tpot 1.
While I enjoyed this episode a bunch, the things you said, I can agree with. But thankfully, they didn't really bother me too much. (Also, I have a feeling Pillow's murderer trait has become very exaggerated. It wasn't entirely her character.)
She joined death pact because she heard kill or murder. And pillow is such a random and funny character the only thing i do hope they don't do is make her have an arc or something.
Whenever I saw profily on screen, I was like “shuuuuut uuuuuup!” as I thought he was gonna start that “i wAs eVeRyWhErE, yOu jUsT dIdNt sEe mE” nonsense again, I was confused why teardrop joined the game, I mean, she was fun that episode, but I don’t understand why they had to add another contestant, like, if she’s up for elimination, then what would happen? I mean, the episode was good and all in my opinion, but why add another contestant even though your just gonna go back to the original number of contestants before the cake at stake
a lot of people think that it’s just the writers setting up for the exitors / post split bfb contestants to join tpot, but i hope that isn’t the case. like fanny said, tpot is never going to end if we keep on adding contestants. it would not only piss _everybody_ off, but it would also ruin the whole point of the split because the only reason it even happened in the first place is because there were too many competitors
exactly. profily is basically so annoying- which is why I hate the episode they were in. but they were okay in BFB 30- plus Teardrop could’ve have walked their on her own, or somebody that’s close to her, such as her Newbie Alliance team, instead of a total stranger to her to bring her there. I feel like the writers just wanted to randomly push Profilely
I still see no reason why the writers made teardrop join, she already got 3rd place in bfb, even if it went longer with another contestant, it should've been someone unexpected like loser or bubble, it would make it even more interesting!
@@cordyceps7531 oh yeah i forgot about that, so nevermind I actually think adding someone like ruby, balloony or even spongy would be better cus they got eliminated pretty early and werent important. I hope there isnt any rejoin or debut for tpot bcs its gonna take YEARS to make.
I liked how teardrop was in the episode itself, but her debut just seemed very unfair. Winner and taggy earned their spots in the show by getting the most votes, but td joins just because??? I didn't notice that until i rewatched it, but the first time i did just felt very overwhelming for me
I actually thoughtwhen i first watched tpot 2 that teardrop wanted powers so much she asked profily to help her join And we know td went somewhere in bfb 30 Plus the waterbased molecule is definitely smart enough to realise she can join the show if she just went there
My main issue with this episode is TD’s debut. I am really getting worried on how long this season is gonna go for. I hope they find a way to make the season shorter since I dont really want the series to go on for like 40+ years…
Why add td on to a team by herself anyway, making golf ball say that line was so dumb. Now if she’s up for eliminating, votes won’t count. Really dumb choice
I agree with your thoughts on teardrop joining. Before the release, I really thought TPOT would be like another object show called OBS where a character dying means they’re eliminated due to no method of recovery. I thought it’d be a really good idea to decrease the amount of episodes required, especially as in the “reason for bfbs split” video, they specifically mentioned bfb would’ve ended in 10-20 years. So I don’t see why they went against the exact complaint the creators had. In my opinion, the best way to tackle this is to have the bfb cast leave after the show ended and potentially help out or intensify challenges. It means they could still be a part of the show without increasing the cast.
I loved how this episode felt like one of the most action-packed ones we've ever had. That makes it stand out a lot for me, and it's one of my personal favorites. I also kinda like how a lot of the characters are more harsh. It makes a lot of the characters feel like they're really playing to win (although some characters definitely made some questionable decisions). The only thing I really didn't like about the episode at all was the direction that the writers started taking with Clock's character. I think he was pretty great in TPOT 1, but I skip almost every scene with him upon rewatches of TPOT 2. His character took such a 180 that he really became one of my least favorites here. All in all though, I do agree with most of the points made in the video, but I still love TPOT 2. I just think something about the humor and pacing of this episode speaks to me particularly.
Clock's always been a fanboyish character, though. He was obsessed with Loser, the issue is that Loser encouraged Clock's behavior. Winner dislikes it and Clock can't quite read the room. He acted the exact same way in TPOT 1, showing his extensive knowledge of Winner and Loser's history, trying to get on their team the second he could, trying to name their team "The Winners" much to Winner's dismay.
Yeah I see what you mean. Clock has always felt relatively rational before (I think especially after the first couple episodes of BFB). He did feel like a fanboy for sure, but in TPOT 2 it seemed like this side of him got cranked up to 11. It feels really excessive. It definitely might have something to do with the fact that Winner isn't okay with his obsession, but I never really thought much about that until you brought it up.
For me, from a critical standpoint, it’s pretty distracting and annoying. But from a viewer standpoint, it can be really fun guessing which animator did each scene. 😂
I actually commented in TPOT 2 that eraser caused td’s death cuz he pissed Bomby off witch made td slip and fall into black hole also WHY IN THE WORLD IS TEARDROP NOT RUNNING FROM THE START like black hole was already seen to be slow in TPOT 1 AND he has a Terrible sense of hearing one more thing HOW DID. HE NOT REALIZE THE MEGAPHONE LANDED INSIDE HIM LIKE CMON but that’s for TPOT 1 it’s just black hole has so many dis-advantages
Excellent review, I personally liked TPOT 2, and I agree with a lot of your points - especially the TSTOE scene, that was easily the weakest aspect of the episode. I think TPOT 1 is better than TPOT 2 for many of the reasons that you've mentioned. I really like your style of review, and thanks for giving your input on the matter, it's important to analyse works you love with a critical lens. Hope this is just a one-off less good episode, according to the team they're not going to make 30 minute plus sagas anymore so we should get some better pacing eventually and have TPOT end before I die. [that said cake is excellent this episode]
Thank you so much! I seriously appreciate that! I always found great importance in looking at art through a critical lens, and it’s great to see someone appreciate it as much as I do.
I liked Tpot 2 a lot, although a lot of what you said is true. I actually hate how they handled Pin in this episode. Doesn't make any sense in the slightest. And is a big let down for arguably the best developed character of the series. It also doesn't go anywhere. I actually like Cary's animation a lot. The faces to me have a imperfection to them that makes it feel natural, in some way. It works well. Although it works best if Cary animated the entire episode, as his animation is so stylized that it sticks out in the episode here. Also agreed with everything about the Two Gaty scene. I appreciate that they tried to make it a natural conversation, but it literally goes everywhere. Pillow on the other hand? Exactly how I wanted them. Yes.
My problem with teardrop is that she’s always won since her introduction and it gets pretty predictable ,why not in tpot nine, she finally loses, and the contestants then complain,so two then decide to add in the other recommended characters, for the viewers to vote on.
In my opinion, the slow pacing is very good in this episode. I feel like the fast pacing in the last episode, and the slow pacing in this episode feel like they’re trying to experiment with their pacing.
@@lockerbuddy2039 maybe it's just the old BFDI charm. And plus it's a smaller cast. Each can get even more screentime. Here in BFB and TPOT, there's too many characters. It's hard to balance each of them to create a story/development for every character.
I absolutely think that slower pacing CAN work for BFDI episodes. It allows us to spend more time with the characters and develop longer, more in-depth moments. The problem I found with it in TPOT 2 was that its slower pacing was used to add more filler to the episode. Many moments felt ultimately pointless, and to me, it didn’t work in the episode’s favor.
Well saying robot flower did nothing in the challenge at the end is I think important because she only does things when people tell her to like golf ball telling her to get the rocket ship or to get the blocks so I don’t think she did nothing wrong 13:50
@@crystalcritique I do agree with you when you said the scene felt premeditated but I just liked to point out that small detail that maybe everyone wasn’t being stupid
Just a note about the whole screen time thing, well I’m pretty sure it’s decided in a poll which lets people decide who they want to have more screen time. I’m not exactly sure if that’s the case
have you guys ever noticed that the team with the most screen time is usually the one who is up for elimination? Tpot 1 gave death pact again lots of screen time before they were up for elimination and the same goes with strongest team on earth. I find it kind of annoying that they do that a d wishes they would spread screen time around with all teams.
Yeah. Also I’d argue the Strongest Team on earth had just as much screen time as death pact again in TPOT 1. That episode did a better job at making it seem like either team could lose.
If Cary only animated himself the scenes or they would just be half of the episode and other half would be normal and it wouldn't be as much noticable, people would give it a pass but... It just stands out too much. Cary's style is great, I like it, but it just looks kinda bad compared to the moderny tpot style.
Anything can be better. This is kinda mid. And I do agree with the Gaty "plot". Satomi (the director I believe) likes Gaty a LOT. So ofc she has to make Gaty relevant. Even going to lengths in hinting she's trans.
@@awesomeaustenkitty I always thought she was just like Golf Ball with the sounding like a boy thingy XD but the reason why I think Satomi is forcing Gaty to be "trans" is because of pandering to the LGBT community. It's obviously gonna be like: OMG A TRANS CHARACTER!!! SUPPORT AT ALL COSTS!!!
@@SuperiorChaotic That's a very cynical way of looking at it. Gaty didn't outright say she was trans, she hinted at it. The mere presence of a trans character doesn't equal pandering. If you have two lesbians kiss in a scene, is that pandering? I'd say no. Pandering would be two lesbians constantly saying they are gay, with nothing else to their characters other than "We're gay, we're gay". Gaty acts as a mediator to the team and always has been. Hell, Price Tag and Winner are non-binary, would that be 'pandering'? Claiming that Gaty's trans thing is pandering comes off as transphobic and rude and it's not like they retconned anything. If they want to have a trans character, there's nothing wrong with it.
@@awesomeaustenkitty They didn't force it tho? They did it in a SINGLE line and that's it. You're obsessing over a random trans character in a show with objects that don't even have genitalia, mate.
@@lockerbuddy2039 well it IS attention grabbing is it not? It will also spark some "mysteries" fans would be thirsty for. That Gaty-Two SubPlot just gives a lot of new doorways for Gaty. I wish they didn't just stick to that piece of wood and also gave other characters screentime, like Fries.
I mean, now that I'm thinking... TSTOE defeat in this episode is pretty anticlimactic. In TPOT 1, Death Pact a.g.a.i.n defeat works better, because they have everything against them. When the challenge stars, and because nobody heard Two saying that once on the top, you're not allowed to go back down, Lighting just goes fastly as he can fly, but he can't go back down. Then the team wants to use the elevator for easy win, but when it is broke, they don't know what to do. But then Remote has a strategy, and everyone takes the stairs, and they get tired, but they see that Remote's Strategy won't work, she faints. Until Fanny recharges her, and they manage to get on the top and they have to hurry, because the challenge it's almost over. I mean, maybe Black Hole was waiting outside because they ordered him to do it, and he didn't had knowledge about changing the plan, so they lose because TSTOE gets on the top first. Although I have complains. If they still had the megaphone, why they didn't use it to call Black hole to get on the top, instead of throw it at a side of him as it was planned. Why didn't Marker used his cap to throw it instead of Remote's battery, they will easily go for it later. But even though that, their defeat there works better than here.
4:18 I see 2 as basically having it as a forced routine to them and basically getting used to it whitout noticing it. Plus, it doesn't benefit them, it benefits the contestants, that's what I've imagined
The only think worse I could think of... is after Two sent these eliminated contestants aside from the Hotel is just disappointing, Two won't let the debuters to rejoin so they have to wait 'till another season! 🤬
Literally my thoughts exactly! I can’t really disagree with you on really anything in this review. Also if they NEEDED to add another contestant to the show (which they didn’t) then I think either Taco, Lollipop or Bubble should’ve joined. Taco- she’s seen as independent and reckless in BFB 1, 6, 12 (kinda) and 29. Her being on a team on her own would be interesting (Also she’s my favourite BFB character so…) Lollipop- Her and Barf Bag’s plot throughout the show just seemed incomplete. There’s not really much for me to say about her but that’s kinda it. Bubble - Not much to say but like with Lollipop they could’ve completed Bubble’s plot with Pencil and Match (Even though they’re inside Four) But if I was to choose someone to join the show, I would’ve picked nobody. Although I loved Marker in the episode I think having double eliminations would work in the shows favour considering the whole show is focused around the number two. And plus it also speeds up the show.
@@JustAGuyLukas yeah no, ppl would then think it’s rushing, you also realize the show would end in only 7 episodes right? Even a joke show is rarely that short
@@awesomeaustenkitty you realize not every episode has to have a double elimination? You could have random double eliminations (ofa) or double eliminations every four episodes (object overload.) Neither times did anyone complain.
How to maybe fix tpot: (Warning:im not a gud writer, and English was not my first leanguange,so ye :"D) Makes two have a hard time pronounce the votes, makes golf ball the one who notice the contestant was at a primate number while two just kinda wan to get over it and start the show already, but not wanting to disrespect golfball speech and have two getting pretty anggry at how hard it was to pronounce big number of votes.making gatty somehow the only one that realize two was kinda stressed and go conform them Tbh idk how to fix the pin drama thingy, but i kinda have an idea about how to solve the problem? Maybe like, have pin tell two what her team was doing and then just flash out when two said thats "its pretty neat" because its not cheating in two eyes, and gaty having experience from book problem help pins too Somehow? Idk,sorry :"D -make grassy trying to restack the block, but the adult just wont listen,so he ask robot flower to build the block together, and with rf fast technology and grassy slow hands, they makes a 3-6 talls block (Din't finish the video yet, gonna update soon)
I haven’t finished the video, but so far I agree with almost everything you said! The conversation between two and gaty was poorly handled. Twos problems just seem like they came out of nowhere and it feels like gaty just wanted to talk about herself :/ Also atleast two let teardrop join and not profily Although, I really like how a lot of things in the episode are connected, plus teardrops entertaining plot with dpa
I also liked this episode, but I do agree it could have been better. It did go on for longer than needed, and there are too many characters in the series. And yeah, I don't think Two hates math. He may not like it, but he doesn't hate it. Speaking of which, his conversation with Gaty might not have been necessary, but I actually like it because of how long it goes on for, and how it was started simply because Gaty asked why it was 25 minutes. And I like Cary's scenes simply because they are way more recognizable than the other scenes.
I certainly agree with this I loved tpot 2 theres alot to love but it does have alot of flaws and could have been improved I would rank it a 7/10 very good but can be improved in some areas
TBH I know Teardrop is loved and a cool character, but tbh I hate how she just joined the show for no good reason, and tbh i woulded prefered to have Profily instead of Teardrop tbh, but thats just my opinion, Again I respect people's opinions and Teardrop Fans but im just saying something that really bothers me of this episode.
Honestly, the only thing I can think about whenever I’m rewatching tpot is, Rocky doesn’t have much screen time. Rocky has been my favorite character ever since I watch the series, bfdi - tpot. and..he barely has any screen time. he is a part of the show , but he’s barely acknowledged in his own group. even marker / Fanny said they barely even acknowledged him. but to be fair, they only used him for vomiting the blocks..so just exploiting him for their own use. and I thought he would atleast get some development or just..anything! but he only got a plush (which I do have) but that’s all. usually the plushies are characters that are popular, (leafy, firey, woody, marker and coin at the moment). or at least most liked characters, but I’ve barely seen anyone like Rocky. I’m just confused. will he get some development or not? whenever rockyis shown in the show, it’s mostly messing things up, throwing up, or getting exploited. (Sorry my explanation isn’t good)
These were exactly my thoughts of the episode. I feel like the Main problem with TPOT and BFB is the lack of writers, I mean there are 2 writers in TPOT and 1-2 writers in BFB. So I think they should hire more writers to generate more ideas. Don’t get me wrong, this was a very enjoyable, but it does have its issues. TPOT 2 Rating 6.7/10
What an excellent review! Your points were incredible, you had amazing analysis’, and gave me even more insight on the problems in the episode than the other ones I already had! The sad thing is a lot of people are going to automatically think it’s the best due to it being the most recent and after a long drought, but oh well. TPOT 3 is apparently going to be shorter, so maybe the pacing will improve and the episode will be better, because I am still underwhelmed by TPOT 2. Great video!
Most of the reason the STOE lost is all because of eggy and her odd decision *Cough* recovering TD *Cough* Making bell knock over towers *Cough* Continually making basketball look in a bad position which is why I think she deserves to be eliminated
The Gaty And Two Conversation Isn't Useless Because It Pushes Two Forward To Focus On The Competition. (Example: Two During The Elimination Is Spoken Too By Fries About Elimination Music And Doesn't Do Anything About It But After Two's Conversation With Gaty And How Being A Host Is Good For Them, They Are Seen In The After Credits Scene Making Music Showing That Not Only Are They Putting More Effort Into The Competition But With What They Like.)
I agree about the gaty and two part. I also generally just fine scenes of two characters talking boring, especially when its meaningless to the plot like this was. It didnt help that it kept interrupting the contest and caused Gaty to not be helpful at all to her team in the contest.
While I disagree, I respect your opinions on the episode. I think this episode was way more interesting than TPOT 1 and gave a lot of underdeveloped characters way more depth. BFB was sloppy and a lot of the cast was pretty 1 dimensional and the writing was very samey, especially in post split. A lot of BFB's flaws shined there. Gelatin is an example of a character who has nothing to him, he's JUST comedy relief. BFB 29 didn't even try to make him interesting, all the spotlight was one Blocky, Woody, Flower and Taco. TPOT 's at least taking steps to make everyone interesting and this episode helped give more conflicts and was willing to let characters from other teams interact with one another, something BFB almost ALWAYS refused to do unless they were clashing. I like the episode but I acknowledge that it's not perfect. But it's far from disappointing for me.
I'm gonna go ahead and add one thing to main critiques. 1: Gaty and 2's conversation was a bid to get Gaty guaranteed immunity on Team8's first elimination, Gaty is one of Satomi's favorites and she didn't want to see her go, so she added a conversation that amounted to nothing and acted as a way to get Gaty immunity 2: Resident Coiny and Pin fan here, Pin sucked this episode, there is literally no reason for her to get mad here, let's say the challenge was actually something fun, like go-karting, and Team8s was sabotaging other team's karts, I could see Pin getting mad here, it goes with her current characterization to not want to hurt anyone, and Coiny going out of his way to hurt someone would set her off, of course, this still has problems, seeing how as in BFDIA 4 she had no problem with Coiny killing Bomby and attempting to kill all of Team No-Name to get them immunity, it's clear they want to shift Pin back to her BFDI characterization but... no... nobody liked Pin in Season 1, she got 20th place, people liked her changes, they were positive for the character, it's like if they made Donut really standoffish and mean again, nobody liked that characterization, keep him where he is, I think they're trying to do what they did with Pencil with Pin, they don't have a true mean leader in the cast (GB fills a similar but different archetype) so they take a character who has filled the role before and made them the mean leader when nobody wanted that. 3: TD is one of my favorite characters. She should not be in TPOT. It's not fair for her to join the show after she literally just came third, like, if they did Balloony, Ruby, Loser, hell, even Blocky, I'd get it, these characters have connections to people in the show and the show could potentially benefit from having them, especially Balloony and Blocky, their trios are missing the third member, but Teardrop? Absolutely not, her entire persona is a hyper competitive person who often forgoes others feelings to win the challenge, her listening to Eggy twice does not constitute a friendship, she has no reason to be here, she has little interaction potential with this cast and she should've just stayed in BFB. 4: TSTOE is the worst team this season, and I don't like how the only season to not have an obvious "Worst Team" is BFDIA, seriously, I feel the series would benefit from taking something from BFDIA, especially now that Michael and Cary aren't writing, all 3 teams in BFDIA were greatly enjoyable and had their own quirks to them, W.O.A.H. Bunch, FreeSmart, and Team No-Name are still some of the best team dynamics we've had, especially FreeSmart, and the fact that Pin literally said "BFDIA sucked" makes me worry that they were using her as a mouthpiece, how does this tie back into TSTOE? This team has no dynamic, I don't buy that any of these people are actually teammates or, hell, even friends other than BB and RFlower, it's just a mish-mash of clashing characters that I don't think even get along, a forced loss for a forced team I'd also like to pitch in something of my own: Eraser was out of character this episode, was he funny? Yes. Am I happy people are beginning to like him so he might beat TV in the first Are You Okay vote? Also yes. Do I like the direction he is being taken? No. *As a TL;DR* : Pen, Blocky, and Eraser have a Nice, Mean, In-Between dynamic, due to Blocky's absence Eraser is being swapped to the Mean instead of the In-Between and I don't like that. So, Blocky, Pen, and Eraser are one of the oldest friendships in the series, and in Season 1 while they were similar, they were different enough to where I could tell them apart, Blocky was the mean one, he bullies the other contestants, pulls pranks, and is generally an ass, he can still have redeeming qualities, but at his core he has to be a jerk, he can have a heart of gold, but he has to be mean too, Pen is the nice one, he's friendlier to the contestants and doesn't heckle them like Blocky, he's usually the one that stays the longest. And then there's Eraser. His role is more vague, but needed, he acts as an in-between, he makes Pen and Blocky's friendship more believeable, he can act as a comedic duo to either party when needed, if Blocky needs someone to help with a prank, use Eraser, if Pen needs someone to talk with, use Eraser, he was the most flexible one of the group and therefore, funnily enough, the most valuable, there's a reason Pen didn't last a single episode without him, Blocky can work as a solo act which is why I didn't mind him going to Post Split, he can work alone, and I was really happy when Pen and Eraser joined the same team, we finally had one of the comedic duos back after a decade of waiting! And then TPOT 2 happened. I can practically see the exact problem they ran into, "People want more Eraser but we don't know how to write more Eraser, what do we do?" A reasonable answer: Just have him tell jokes with Pen, BFDI 5 is a good example of this, Pen and Eraser were the best part of the episode largely due to their duo qualities, they were a comedy act, just give Eraser some dry wit and it'll work from there. Their answer: I dunno, make him act like Blocky and SB? Eraser spent the entire episode acting shockingly more confrontational than usual, is Eraser against sabotage? No, we see him egg Bell on to directly screw over The Losers in BFB 6, but that was out of necessity, he'll sabotage if it'll save him from elimination but he does follow the rules, as shown in Paper Towels (which IS canon, it's in the official episode playlist), so it's out of character for him to pretty much bully Bell for a minute straight, wouldn't this role be better fit on Snowball? Who is the kind of person who bullies other contestants? They put Eraser and Pen on the same team and then proceeded to not take advantage of that by having Eraser spend the entire episode away from Pen, their friendship has felt less real every episode, like they're friends just because they have to be! It's Pen and Eraser! They have to be friends! Eraser was funny, yes, but wouldn't it have been funnier if him and Pen took a step back and acknowledged how insane everyone's gotten? In a 42, now 43, character cast, it pays to have some who are just aware of everyone else's flaws and pointing them out, stuff like pointing out Death P.A.C.T. Again being aggressive despite being pacifists, BB's shoddy leadership, Pin deteriorating a decade-long friendship, it pays to have voices of reason every now and then, everyone is acting like the eccentric friend now, so we need some straight man characters, Black Hole is acting as one, why not have Eraser and Pen work as one too? It would be in-character, as Eraser has been shown to bad talk people behind their back before (it was literally his first line) and Pen probably just wants to hang out with Eraser. I don't want another Blocky, I just want Eraser. *Eraser rant ends here if you skipped it* With all this criticism, what do I think of this episode? 5-6/10, it's alright, Post Split had similar degrees of problems and I actually like Post-Split so I can't be too mad at the episode, I don't like the direction their taking some characters but I love the direction their taking others.
to be honest, while your points about the things you don't like about this episode are true and very argumented, I fell like spend way too much time one the negatives than the positives (not only for this episode) but you're reviews are still very good nontheless also the way you said this line (12:22) was funny to me
Yeah I agree with the animation complaints, but cary was probably (I mean idk it could have been Michael, but they do look pretty similar) the one who drew the original mouth assets, doesn't make since to point out that they look the same when you consider that
As much as I like the episode, my biggest complaint is actually the wait time. Will all the problems you mentioned, there was no need for the episode to release a year and a half after TPOT 1. But I do notice a higher animation quality in some parts of the episode. And this episode has definitely reignited my love for Teardrop.
everything in this video is mega true. also teardrop joining makes me expect liy (or some other exitor) to join too even though i probably shouldn't get my hopes up 😁
Don’t get me wrong I love teardrop but liy…. She got punched in the face, beaten up, robbed and sent to the exit💀💀💀 she had a shit ton of potential she should’ve joined tpot, then maybe foldy would’ve had SOME contribution to the story and maybe they could go into her personality and arc with liy more instead of just making her sit around during tpot 2
I’ve been saying this since TPOT 1 came out, this show is gonna go on forever, Cary said that if they didn’t split BFB it would’ve gone on until there 40s but at this rate it’s gone be the same with TPOT and I can’t be asked to wait 1year and 5 months for an episode that has good components but keeps adding players, idk man I like that there’s more contestants but it’s gonna take forever to finish
Youve given some really good points here! I appreciate how well it was analysed and as much as i loved this episode youve made really good arguments with how they wrote this, and didnt really utlize the episodes time as well as they couldve. I dont have much more to say here other than that i agree with you, and while the episode wasnt inherently bad or anything, it definitely couldve been better. Really good review!
The part I agreed with the most was the animation, like you said at the beginning of the episode, it goes from being one animator than immediately turns into Cary’s type of animation, it’s so easy to notice the choppy than smooth animation. The style I like the most are Highvan’s. That should be the style for TPOT (in my opinion of course.)
yeah I hated those scenes with what I call the "new mouths" and yeah, normally the comedy and interactions is mixed in with the main challenge, but in this they literally go AWAY from the challenge for the interactions edit: also, what's with the pitchshift, and also I wouldn't think that gaty ACTUALLY has a species 5:36 though, I can still understand what you mean edit 2: also I prefer tpot 2's pacing, tpot 1 spends more time on voting then they do on the actual challenge, which is ridiculous
I need some where to rant about this:I hate how they are obviously trying to do another firey and leafy "arc" with coiny and pin, and since pin was in the wrong this episode, tpot 3 will have coiny do something bad or rude so pin can be justified. I hate this decision because I bet for a fact that they looked at the second most shipped characters and went "Oh boy, we can do the firey and leafy plot but with coinpin and somehow dumber!" Sorry i just needed to get pissed real quick.
This might be a little bit unrelated, but I think Teardrop was included into the episode later into development, maybe the team noticed that they had a hard time figuring out stuff to make it more interesting, so they had to pick a way to fix that. Another reason was because the recent discovery of why Teardrop can't talk, because Blocky ripped her vocal chords out as a prank, and I think that since Two has those cool powers, a subplot in TPOT 3 could be Two asking why she can't talk, and in turn, a character, (I would say most likely Coiny) says that Blocky played a prank on her, and Two fixes her voice with his cool powers. I just think this could line up a little too well to not work.
Teardrop was already planned to join the show when TPOT 1 was finishing production. They knew what they were doing. And Satomi just likes Teardrop, we’re not getting some contrived backstory for why she can’t talk.
@@cordyceps7531 that's not what I was saying, I was saying that might be another way to make Teardrop more important to the show as a whole, is Two fixing her vocal chords
@@cordyceps7531 I'm just saying that it could happen, and I think that it fits too well with the stuff currently happening with Teardrop and why she can't talk
A detail I just remembered is that TV also said gluing the blocks would be cheating when Puffball suggests the idea, despite Two never saying they couldn't. Personally, remembering that makes Pin's plot just a little bit more understandable since she's not the only one who came to that conclusion. Yeah we didn't need two minutes spent on her being upset about it but still.
Idk why but "speaking of snowball, he's been lying on his face for over 2 minutes. Is he dead?" Is hilarious to me. Also yea I agree with every point u made lol. Ur probably my favourite osc youtuber that dosent have an actual show
You gave a lot of compelling points. This review was honestly quite insightful, and you pretty much took the words out of my mouth on how this episode was still a bit rocky. That being said, I still think TPOT 2 is better than TPOT 1 by a _fair_ margin. It's a bit muddled like you said, sure; it had its issues with padding, Pin completely lost me, Taggy and Winner were still nothing-burgers of debuters that STILL are begging to be fleshed out in a merely compelling way, the lack of EXIT scenes is a disappointment, etc. etc. But there's a much better handful of jokes and gags, a bigger portion of characters that were pretty neatly utilized (this is definitely one of Teardrop's best episodes as she shines best when the odds are against her, and Eraser also had absolutely fantastic characterization that feels like a step-up from late pre-split BFB) and, hell, the fact that this felt WAY more like a competition with how the teams were constantly sabotaging each-other's progress, willingly or not. It feels like it's taking the show through a decent path at least a bit more than TPOT 1, which honestly just felt like a worse version of BFB 1 in nearly every way. Also I personally liked that conversation with Gaty and Two. It had that comfiness of just two people having a casual chat that isn't present in many object shows, mainly since the delivery of the lines in this conversation felt pretty natural and the whole convo helped making Two feel more human as a character, which is a nice way of fleshing them out.
I really get that. I definitely found that this episode had me chuckling much more than the last episode, and I found many more characters that felt like they had better characterization.
I didnt mind the fact that TPOT 2 was as long as it was, but I do agree that the pacing was a bit off. As for the animation, I love Cary's style as it reminds me of old BFDI, and because of the fact that the animation styles changed throughout the episode, I could feel the passion of the animators that I would not feel from a serialized TV show. All this to say that I have no problem with the animation. Speaking of the plot, the challenge was simple and I liked the character interactions but I do feel that the conversation between Two and Gate was improperly handled. For the length of the episode, not all of the characters had proper screen time. I rate this episode 7.75/10.00 (also im on mobile so sorry if my thoughts seem scattered and my grammar bad)
I have been with BFDI for a very long time, but to be honest, I have lost a lot of intrigue thanks in part to TPOT. A big reason I feel as to why I've lost admiration has to do with just how overambitious TPOT is; that is for me, maybe not you. It feels quite overwhelming having to keep up with 40+ contestants with a lot of them just sitting in wait. Some don't even do anything during the episode in some cases. While I know that not every single character can be involved in every single episode, there absolutely should not be characters who hardly get any screen time within a 36 minute episode. A lot of the characters who are present here have personalities that I hardly recognize let alone sympathize with because they are projected for a few seconds then are left to kick up dust for the rest of the episode's runtime. In my opinion those characters are nothing but voter fodder in place of the far more intriguing characters, which in turn only feels like padding out TPOT's lifespan. I love this series and want to see it- know it can -do better, but I also lose a lot of motivation to stick around when I consider that I could be here in my thirties when only the 15th episode comes out when, like, Robot Flower gets eliminated or something. If they want to keep all of the contestants, I agree that multiple of them should be eliminated at the same time or some should quit out of frustration. I get that this is still only the second episode of the series, but that doesn't mean these problems won't persist. TL;DR: I think that the contestant count needs to be reduced for this show to truly grip me.
I respect your opinion on this episode and some of the problems you had with it, One things I gotta say, Golfball is really annoying in this episode, I don't feel bad that TD slapped her
yeah, as someone who used to like her, it's just kinda sad that we didn't get to see much of her after the whole leader arc with 8-ball (not to mention that mysterious backstory from IDFB...), though to be fair, TPOT has such a huge cast that I could see why they didn't have time for that
Tpot 2 made me feel underwhelmed Pillow wasn't as good Naily had like one line Book had like one line Teardrop was just annoying Winner was barely in it The after credits scene is something I completely forgot about Price tag was just killed off for silly ha ha's Most of the characters weren't even brought back And in general I just forgot about the episode after I finished it
Honestly TPOT is my least favorite season of BFDI. Post-split BFB was a lot better imo, despite the fact that it's supposed to have lower quality than TPOT.
Eh, they’re in a competition and Black Hole sucked up all of their blocks. It’s either steal or be up for elimination again, I think Tree was perfectly in character.
Also I think the reason Snowball was lying down is because his face was partially deformed, possibly making him recover physically. He IS made of snow.
well i mean, he was injured from falling like 10, 20 feet. he was obviously just trying to recover
It is meant to be a reference to bfdi 6 where the same thing happened just not as exaggerated
Basketball is a girl
Eraser Pushed the Stack of blocks Snowball was Standing On and snowball fell and he fell face flat
Like for example when you throw a snowball into the ground he is crushed a little bit and his face becomes very not round like
I'm personally thinking that Two's complaints not making much sense is probably because we just don't know much about him yet in general. Maybe as TPOT progresses, we'll actually learn some more stuff about Two beyond him just being the host of TPOT and then his whole conversation with Gaty will make more sense in hindsight.
The problem is that, as was mentioned, this episode took 17 months to make. Who knows when the next random info-dump will happen.
The team did fine and the episodes will be out significantly faster according to Satomi's updates on her YT channel's community tabs (specifically update 12).
the problem is that TWO IS A THEY and u said HE
Just like MePhone in Inanimate Insanity Mid-Season 2
We khow he a batter host than fuor cuz he. Care Abut his constans and not rasonly kill them
Of he kill One It was an accdeindeny like pen that got crished by recorvry center two recoved him
Also Rubber stapula sad where nobody like him two made a sad face
The inclusion of Teardrop is also weird when you consider that she already ranked 3RD in BFB, not to mention she got more than double the screentime she had in both BFDI and BFDIA, ON TOP OF THE FACT we already had a double debut in episode 1. It’s almost as if the crew just really wanted to force her into the show without her really needing to be there.
I heard satomi practically begged for teardrop to be in TPOT, so that’s probably why it’s like that
If you watched BFB, Teardrop went missing a few days, said by one of the contestants in it. This is probably why teardrop went missing in BFB and explaining why teardrop joined tpot.
Should’ve been Balloony, poor dude is so forgettable
Cary once said he wanted a team with one person. In BFDI 12 team no name was originally gonna stay just Firey so he would have to work by himself. But he was so eager to add points to the game because he always liked tracking a contestant’s progress over time
They wanted someone to be in all seasons
@@crystalcritique fair enough
From a writing perspective, TPOT 1 is better.
For enjoyability however, TPOT 2 is way better imo. Better jokes, fun character interactions, but yeah it’s also very flawed. My only issues where the small moments that felt like obvious padding to stretch time, but you introduced more flaws that I didn’t even notice. Thankfully, Satomi said the episodes will be shorter going forward, meaning less extended filler moments,
I also have to agree with most of what you said about Gaty and Two, mostly for how forced some of the dialogue is. One example, Gaty tells Two that she’s talking about inanimate numbers, the ones without faces. So why would Two make the comparison of calling them girls instead of gates. That would’ve made more sense since there aren’t any inanimate girls.
(the second thing you wrote) oh yeah
Inanimate girls do exist, it's called the French language (or any other language that for some reason puts genders into objects).
True.
I think the episode is the way it is because of how it was made.
The script alone was stretched out for so long that I'm pretty sure they forgot certain ideas they had set up
I hope it’s like bfb where at the shortest the episodes are 6 minutes long but are generally 11 - 15 minutes so they can get episodes out faster.
I love how you actually properly analyze the Gaty and Two scene instead of just saying OMG GATY IS TRANS CONFIREMD!!
Eh, I dont really care that gaty is trans, mostly that because she's an fictional character...
@@samuelhere41 I doubt objects are born with genitalia. So I assume they just pick a gender 🤣
@@Dream_Sweet_In_Sea_Major I have no idea. Does their gender entirely depend on their voice? Because if so then Golfball should be male, does that mean Golfball is trans???? It doesn’t make much sense.
@@Dream_Sweet_In_Sea_Major this is something that really confused me, how does gender get assigned to literal objects?? there's the voice idea try mentioned, but someone could sound like a girl/guy while being the cis opposite-

@@noimnot8actually probably the reason why objects are living and talking, AND HOW THE HECK FLOWER HAS A LITERAL BRAIN-
I feel like Pin only agreed with the Clock swing plan, and the basket twinkle plan, because Loser suggested those plans, and of course, nobody can disagree with Loser. At least in the pre-split part of BFB. But I definitely agree that Pin overreacting about Coiny’s glue idea was just pointless.
Very good point, completely forgot the Loser stuff
i mea they needed a whole argument to shove events of bfdia in tpot but they have done it so poorly
Pillow was really funny too
I think the Gaty/Two rant was justified. It was just so forced.
its so dumb how the opinion on tpot 2 went from "it is ok" to "ITS THE BEST EPISODE OF TPOT GUYS IT HAS STORIES!"
FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT
I agree with you on most of the points like
-the pacing
-some teams having way more screen time than others
-The useless sub plots
-The filler
-The length of the video(especially because the challenge already being done in BFDI 6 and in a shorter time too)
-The animation quality
-Teardrop Joining (making Pie elimination pointless)
But there are some things I like, I two and gaty subplot because it’s gives two some character than some of the other hosts, Some of the things in the beginning are nice, some of the joke, and etc.
The fact pillow was the one who saved the forks from 4 so 4 wouldn’t kill anyone
Satomi wanted her in. That’s the only reason.
Loser would be a good option for the whole winner-loser arc
@@Violeticy_ he was already rigged without a proper rejoin to be in split bfb, we don’t need that again
@@cordyceps7531 oh yeah i forgot about that, so nevermind
I actually think adding someone like ruby, balloony or even spongy would be better cus they got eliminated pretty early and werent important. I hope there isnt any rejoin or debut for tpot bcs its gonna take YEARS to make.
Offtopic but what makes teardrop a fan favorite? She just kills people for petty reasons in my view :skull:
I liked how teardrop was in the episode itself, but her debut just seemed very unfair. Winner and taggy earned their spots in the show by getting the most votes, but td joins just because??? I didn't notice that until i rewatched it, but the first time i did just felt very overwhelming for me
I actually thoughtwhen i first watched tpot 2 that teardrop wanted powers so much she asked profily to help her join
And we know td went somewhere in bfb 30
Plus the waterbased molecule is definitely smart enough to realise she can join the show if she just went there
I think the timer really is the greatest weakness, especially since they wanted to make the timer accurate. It forced the extra subplots.
Really dumb choice
don’t worry, there’s only going to be >3 rejoiners including an eliminated TPOT contestant
Not really. TPOT 3 took only 2 weeks and 6 days to be made.
The descent into madness at the TSTOE’s plot was an absolute joy to watch. Great review all around, can’t think of much I disagree with.
LOL I absolutely LOVED recording that part of the video
Hello Pinwa
@@KiiBon hello KingBoi
It definitely might have something to do with the fact that Winner isn't okay with his obsession, but I never really thought much about that until you brought it up.
aslo bart bag sward. she saying ideit
as an animator, the animation differences are cool to me
like, recognising different people and going: “hey! that’s ___” or something is fun
For me, from a critical standpoint, it’s pretty distracting and annoying. But from a viewer standpoint, it can be really fun guessing which animator did each scene. 😂
I love the “are we ever gonna get a new cake at stake song” joke
Pin was so detailed this episode and like always Saw and Gaty are just sitting around and doing nothing while their entire team has to carry them both
I actually commented in TPOT 2 that eraser caused td’s death cuz he pissed Bomby off witch made td slip and fall into black hole also WHY IN THE WORLD IS TEARDROP NOT RUNNING FROM THE START like black hole was already seen to be slow in TPOT 1 AND he has a Terrible sense of hearing one more thing HOW DID.
I have to agree with him. A part I had a problem with was when teardrop joined it felt odd and unnecessary.
Yes.
Cary’s animation is styled in a way that you can tell which scenes are his, and it’s less vague than Michael’s scenes where the eyes are bigger.
still wonder why they didn't do anything about snowball having what's probably a concussion
Slow Pacing just doesn't fit BFDI.
@@SuperiorChaotic BFDIA 5 is slower paced and it's considered one of the best BFDI episodes ever tho. Slow pacing absolutely can work.
Will you do the whole ONE show and TNM 5?
10:42 well they heard him
I did find the gaty and two scene very wierd but some characters just did and were more appealing.
Well saying robot flower did nothing in the challenge at the end is I think important because she only does things when people tell her to like golf ball telling her to get the rocket ship or to get the blocks so I don’t think she did nothing wrong 13:50
That's actually a good point. I'm surprised that I didn't notice that.
@@crystalcritique I do agree with you when you said the scene felt premeditated but I just liked to point out that small detail that maybe everyone wasn’t being stupid
Not to mention she just had her mind refreshed. Might not have known what the challenge even was.
Ehhh, kinda felt like Death PACT Again had the most screentime in TPOT 2 again.
@@cordyceps7531 yeah but at the end the strongest team on earth definetly hogged it
Yeah.
Also I’d argue the Strongest Team on earth had just as much screen time as death pact again in TPOT 1. That episode did a better job at making it seem like either team could lose.
@@cordyceps7531 yeah the other teams felt hollow like everyone was missing on just not
If Cary only animated himself the scenes or they would just be half of the episode and other half would be normal and it wouldn't be as much noticable, people would give it a pass but...
But forcing it is not the way to do it, I think I’d prefer if Gaty was just always a female instead of trans, believe it or not.
@@awesomeaustenkitty I always thought she was just like Golf Ball with the sounding like a boy thingy XD
but the reason why I think Satomi is forcing Gaty to be "trans" is because of pandering to the LGBT community.
Didn’t they drop the megaphone before they got the chance to use it?
@@TheLegend2T yeah
Her being on a team on her own would be interesting (Also she’s my favourite BFB character so…)
Lollipop- Her and Barf Bag’s plot throughout the show just seemed incomplete. There’s not really much for me to say about her but that’s kinda it.
Bubble - Not much to say but like with Lollipop they could’ve completed Bubble’s plot with Pencil and Match (Even though they’re inside Four)
But if I was to choose someone to join the show, I would’ve picked nobody.
Although I loved Marker in the episode I think having double eliminations would work in the shows favour considering the whole show is focused around the number two. And plus it also speeds up the show.
You realize if they did double eliminations it would only take 2 losses for a team to go down to *THREE*
That’d be fine 🤷♀️. Either that or they could have TWO teams lose.
@@JustAGuyLukas yeah no, ppl would then think it’s rushing, you also realize the show would end in only 7 episodes right? Even a joke show is rarely that short
@@awesomeaustenkitty you realize not every episode has to have a double elimination? You could have random double eliminations (ofa) or double eliminations every four episodes (object overload.) Neither times did anyone complain.
personally i really love tpot 2, i love episodes with simple challenges that leave room for great character interaction
How to maybe fix tpot:
(Warning:im not a gud writer, and English was not my first leanguange,so ye :"D)
Makes two have a hard time pronounce the votes, makes golf ball the one who notice the contestant was at a primate number while two just kinda wan to get over it and start the show already, but not wanting to disrespect golfball speech
and have two getting pretty anggry at how hard it was to pronounce big number of votes.making gatty somehow the only one that realize two was kinda stressed and go conform them
Tbh idk how to fix the pin drama thingy, but i kinda have an idea about how to solve the problem?
Maybe like, have pin tell two what her team was doing and then just flash out when two said thats "its pretty neat" because its not cheating in two eyes, and gaty having experience from book problem help pins too
Somehow? Idk,sorry :"D
-make grassy trying to restack the block, but the adult just wont listen,so he ask robot flower to build the block together, and with rf fast technology and grassy slow hands, they makes a 3-6 talls block
(Din't finish the video yet, gonna update soon)
I haven’t finished the video, but so far I agree with almost everything you said! The conversation between two and gaty was poorly handled. Twos problems just seem like they came out of nowhere and it feels like gaty just wanted to talk about herself :/
Also atleast two let teardrop join and not profily
Although, I really like how a lot of things in the episode are connected, plus teardrops entertaining plot with dpa
Proflu dint want jion he probaly Just helped teardrop to get to tpot
I really miss how messy the earlier episodes of bfdi. It gave it its own style.
Two goes by they btw
(Sorry my explanation isn’t good)
Was eggy ever consistent in the first place
These were exactly my thoughts of the episode. I feel like the Main problem with TPOT and BFB is the lack of writers, I mean there are 2 writers in TPOT and 1-2 writers in BFB. So I think they should hire more writers to generate more ideas. Don’t get me wrong, this was a very enjoyable, but it does have its issues.
TPOT 2 Rating 6.7/10
Somehow you are the only person I've heard talk about Cary's animation in tpot.
10:23 Thank you for the Ice Cube Slander
Ice Cube sucks.
If they don't show what's behind the door in the EXIT, I'm gonna release my kids in my basement.
If there’s 43 contestants, I’m just gonna time travel to 2066!
Gaty and two talking about the fnaf lore
I agree about the gaty and two part. I also generally just fine scenes of two characters talking boring, especially when its meaningless to the plot like this was. It didnt help that it kept interrupting the contest and caused Gaty to not be helpful at all to her team in the contest.
13:20 I feel like basketball is slowly turning into golf ball
I liked that the challenge was long,
But I didn't like how the results were decided by the final 2 mins, feels like the challenge was luck based
e
To me the timer was kinda useless here’s a fun idea what if two said you have to stalk blocks all the way to space or something
it’s probably just me but I did not like how bell was screaming 24/7
This was 1 day after my birthday
I'm gonna go ahead and add one thing to main critiques.
1: Gaty and 2's conversation was a bid to get Gaty guaranteed immunity on Team8's first elimination, Gaty is one of Satomi's favorites and she didn't want to see her go, so she added a conversation that amounted to nothing and acted as a way to get Gaty immunity
2: Resident Coiny and Pin fan here, Pin sucked this episode, there is literally no reason for her to get mad here, let's say the challenge was actually something fun, like go-karting, and Team8s was sabotaging other team's karts, I could see Pin getting mad here, it goes with her current characterization to not want to hurt anyone, and Coiny going out of his way to hurt someone would set her off, of course, this still has problems, seeing how as in BFDIA 4 she had no problem with Coiny killing Bomby and attempting to kill all of Team No-Name to get them immunity, it's clear they want to shift Pin back to her BFDI characterization but... no... nobody liked Pin in Season 1, she got 20th place, people liked her changes, they were positive for the character, it's like if they made Donut really standoffish and mean again, nobody liked that characterization, keep him where he is, I think they're trying to do what they did with Pencil with Pin, they don't have a true mean leader in the cast (GB fills a similar but different archetype) so they take a character who has filled the role before and made them the mean leader when nobody wanted that.
This team has no dynamic, I don't buy that any of these people are actually teammates or, hell, even friends other than BB and RFlower, it's just a mish-mash of clashing characters that I don't think even get along, a forced loss for a forced team
I'd also like to pitch in something of my own: Eraser was out of character this episode, was he funny?
I can practically see the exact problem they ran into, "People want more Eraser but we don't know how to write more Eraser, what do we do?"
A reasonable answer: Just have him tell jokes with Pen, BFDI 5 is a good example of this, Pen and Eraser were the best part of the episode largely due to their duo qualities, they were a comedy act, just give Eraser some dry wit and it'll work from there.
*Eraser rant ends here if you skipped it*
With all this criticism, what do I think of this episode?
5-6/10, it's alright, Post Split had similar degrees of problems and I actually like Post-Split so I can't be too mad at the episode, I don't like the direction their taking some characters but I love the direction their taking others.
2 same pin was mid
mid pin
Best TPOT episode imo
The tpot 9 in question:
to be honest, while your points about the things you don't like about this episode are true and very argumented, I fell like spend way too much time one the negatives than the positives (not only for this episode)
but you're reviews are still very good nontheless
also the way you said this line (12:22) was funny to me
As a certified certified pillow hater hater I am genuinely glad to see the comments not being pillow pillow pillow I hate pillow
Finnaly someone who also thinks cary's animation is strange compared to the other ones in TpoT
I think the convo between two and gaty was meant to make pin think what she really wanted but it wasnt communicated properly
Yeah I agree with the animation complaints, but cary was probably (I mean idk it could have been Michael, but they do look pretty similar) the one who drew the original mouth assets, doesn't make since to point out that they look the same when you consider that
Man i love the cary scenes, the only time since idfb when cary animated was in bfb 13 and they are just so funny
If you aren’t already, you should review the next episode of TNM! it’s really good. Also, I agree with your points in this
everything in this video is mega true. also teardrop joining makes me expect liy (or some other exitor) to join too even though i probably shouldn't get my hopes up 😁
Liy should’ve joined instead👿👿👿👿
Don’t get me wrong I love teardrop but liy…. She got punched in the face, beaten up, robbed and sent to the exit💀💀💀 she had a shit ton of potential she should’ve joined tpot, then maybe foldy would’ve had SOME contribution to the story and maybe they could go into her personality and arc with liy more instead of just making her sit around during tpot 2
hoo boy
That should be the style for TPOT (in my opinion of course.)
yeah I hated those scenes with what I call the "new mouths" and yeah, normally the comedy and interactions is mixed in with the main challenge, but in this they literally go AWAY from the challenge for the interactions
edit: also, what's with the pitchshift, and also I wouldn't think that gaty ACTUALLY has a species 5:36 though, I can still understand what you mean
edit 2: also I prefer tpot 2's pacing, tpot 1 spends more time on voting then they do on the actual challenge, which is ridiculous
I love your take it's so honest and true, also have you ever seen my videos? (just wondering)
I need some where to rant about this:I hate how they are obviously trying to do another firey and leafy "arc" with coiny and pin, and since pin was in the wrong this episode, tpot 3 will have coiny do something bad or rude so pin can be justified. I hate this decision because I bet for a fact that they looked at the second most shipped characters and went "Oh boy, we can do the firey and leafy plot but with coinpin and somehow dumber!" Sorry i just needed to get pissed real quick.
i think two is just GOOD at math, and LIKES hosting TPOT. He HATES math, but he enjoys it in cake at stake.
@¡MrSpeddøx! I thought that too but apparently the removal of vocal chords in the BFDI universe is not reversible upon recovery
@@cherrysodap Teardrop talking isn't something that needs to happen, would very cliche and an insult to people who actually who actually can't talk
@@cordyceps7531 I'm just saying that it could happen, and I think that it fits too well with the stuff currently happening with Teardrop and why she can't talk
10:41 you got your wish!
Ur probably my favourite osc youtuber that dosent have an actual show
man i thought i was the only one who thought that!
I rate this episode 7.75/10.00
(also im on mobile so sorry if my thoughts seem scattered and my grammar bad)
I respect your opinion on this episode and some of the problems you had with it, One things I gotta say, Golfball is really annoying in this episode, I don't feel bad that TD slapped her
yeah, as someone who used to like her, it's just kinda sad that we didn't get to see much of her after the whole leader arc with 8-ball (not to mention that mysterious backstory from IDFB...), though to be fair, TPOT has such a huge cast that I could see why they didn't have time for that
Not to mention SINCE WHEN DID PIN CARE ABOUT CHEATING?
@@Thischannelsnomore yeah I used to be confused as well, thought I missed something in the series
This guy is gonna be the new “I Hate Everything”
I wish ;-;
Note. The bfdi crew listened to you, now there’s two teams for elimination
Tpot 2 made me feel underwhelmed
Pillow wasn't as good
Naily had like one line
Book had like one line
Teardrop was just annoying
Winner was barely in it
The after credits scene is something I completely forgot about
Price tag was just killed off for silly ha ha's
Most of the characters weren't even brought back
And in general I just forgot about the episode after I finished it
Book spoke like 7 times bruh
They set up foldy for death 😭
Honestly TPOT is my least favorite season of BFDI. Post-split BFB was a lot better imo, despite the fact that it's supposed to have lower quality than TPOT.
tho it is a good thing that Tpot will be far more frequent now that BFB is finished.
I'd also like to point out the assasination of Tree's character, him stealing and doing what he did really felt contrived for the sake of the plot
Eh, they’re in a competition and Black Hole sucked up all of their blocks. It’s either steal or be up for elimination again, I think Tree was perfectly in character.
