I have owned my model X long range for a year and a half now and it is utterly fantastic💪❤️ have not had one problem and have driven it back-and-forth across the country. Probably the quietest safest fastest car on the road I have ever experienced. I see no reason to own a plaid. So I cannot speak to your experience. But my long range model X has been fantastic and I encourage anyone to buy one if they want the ultimate in comfort. TIP❗️ if you purchase the five seater you will be in heaven. Because you have the maximum space that you can have in a model X. I love it because there is so much stealth space that often I can travel and not leave anything VISIBLE in the car so no one will be inclined to try and break a window to get in.
Yes, definitely more room with a 5-seater or 7-seater if you fold the third row down. We wanted the 2nd row captain chairs so much coming from a minivan that we didn't fully realize what we were getting into. It isn't the same as a minivan as far as space. We went with Plaid to get the 6 seats. Adding 6 seats to a Long Range was already $6500. Adding a little bit more, we get Plaid plus the 6 seats. We were curious. Plaid is great if you track the car, which makes sense on the Model S. I guess adding Plaid to Model X separates it even more from other competitors in its class.
@@sherwinm Great Points Sir ! YES, I went from 2008 Honda Odyssey so I understand why you went with the captain seats ! They also look far nicer too ! As much as I want a CT just cant rationally justify getting one while this wonderful Model X is in my life... :) Please do enjoy that CT... Sorry to hear you had all those issues...
The mistake you made regarding space in a model X was that unless you pick the folding five seater option, you will not be able to take advantage of the enormous huge space of the model X like you can with the five seater. Of course, if you must have the additional seat, I understand that. But if you are not going to need or use the additional seat to me it is crazy to not purchase the five seat only as you are cutting off your nose, despite your face. In credit to you, you did mention that at the very end of your video hopefully people watched it long enough to hear you admit that the five seater is the only way to go.
Good and insightful review. We have a 2022 Model X LR with 7 seats and have really enjoyed it. THe falcon wing doors provide excellent utility esp considering we have a newborn and always taking the car seat in and out and it makes it convenient the way the falcon wing door creates space up in the roof area. It would be difficult to go back to a car without that utility now. Also if carrying 5 passengers, a 5 or 7 seat config would be my recommendation (which you mentioned as well) since that opens up the entire back (with 3rd row seats folded down). Certainly increases utility and also allows the second row to fold for longer items, which I've done quite alot. I think the 6-seat config is heavily compromised and your utility needs not met likely partly due to this factor. We have 7 seats in case we ever need to take 6 or 7 people on short trips around town, but having 5 sets up only all the time really allows 5 people to be comfortable in this case with added utility in the back. Our issues thankfully have been limited to some creeks and small rattles which I have gotten most fixed, and I do wish the fit and finish were better. Thankfully no other major issues have crept up. I think having a steering rack replaced is a major issue, but possible that perhaps the car would have ridden just fine following that last replacement? Considering how much Abby seemed to like the car, it may have been worthwhile to see if the rack has issues again before initiating the buy back. Again, I do feel that's a fairly major issue and dont fault you for the buyback since you decided on it, but I may have waited ono the buy back a bit since they did fix the issue with the replacement. Hopefully Abby enjoys the cybertruck, I have warmed up to the design (and love my 1:18 die cast that I have on my work desk lol), but I do feel the model x is a better looking car, and much more practical for daily driving. THe size of the cybertruck, the lack of not useful falcon wing doors, and lack of a constant need for that flat bed (for us would be space wasted and useless on most days), and all storage being in an external space, it just makes it a tough buy for us. I did sit in one and felt the interior was very very nice though, so I think you guys prob are very comfortable in it. Having a tesla is a certainly a minimum requirement for us for an electric car, given the constant software updates, the wonderful inteface that is unmatched by anything Ive seen in the market, and the charging network) so the cybertruck would meet that for sure. if for any reason we had to trade in our Model X, I'd probably lean towards the new model Y (now released in the asian market and likely coming here to the states), and do with the somewhat smaller space rather than switching to another brand. Nice and fair review overall based on your experience, thanks for sharing it! Will cont to follow your content on your guys' cybertruck experiences!
Thank you for your feedback. It was a hard decision. I agree that the Model X looks stunning. New Model Y is exciting. Great to hear the Model X is working well for you. The Cybertruck 2nd row doors do open close to 90 degrees but will need plenty of space at parking lots. Abby is okay driving it but parking is still different. For the size of the X, it isn't too difficult to park. Thank you for your continued support.
@@sherwinm 5 seater is the way to go. It is a bummer plaid requires 6 seater--but with the performance of the LR, the 5 seater (we feel) is the better option to maximize the "U"-tility of the X. Unless you’re really out here racing, I don’t think people really care once you get past say 500HP. I say 500HP because electric cars are heavy. That’s enough for your car to feel fast, without it being 1000HP and you never use half of it outside of a few launches when you get it.
Ya, the performance thing was "cool" first month or so. Many people wonder why I prefer to bring my Rivian R1T on road trips than the Model X Plaid. I can do more with an electric truck than a super fast mini SUV.
They need to do a major refresh. The body style would need to change if they're going to have more storage space. Adding outlets may not be too difficult? They also need increase quality. They don't need to do anything with comfort and performance. Maybe adding ventilated seats in the second row could add "luxury" features. Add front camera and birds eye view for parking.
