My Thoughts On Top Thrill 2 | Cedar Point 2024 New Coaster

- The reimagined Top Thrill Dragster has finally been announced! Top Thrill 2 is set to open at Cedar Point in 2024, likely on the park's opening day for their 2024 season! This ride is set to keep the original stats of a 420 foot height and a top speed of 120 miles an hour, however the ride will feature a total of 3 LSM launches; the first being a forwards, 74 mph launch, the second being a backwards 101 mph launch, and the final one being another forwards 120 mph launch. The ride will also be approximately 2 minutes long, and is being made by Zamperla, featuring their brand new Lightning trains!
In this video, I talk about my full thoughts and expectations regarding this project, and discuss my opinions in terms of the layout, theme, and overall experience!

People are obsessed with making Top Thrill 2 like Kingda Ka by adding that hill at the end. WELL THAT'S YALLS FANTASY NOT Cedar Point's vision. Cedar Point isn't trying to copy off of Six Flags like Six Flags did by copying off of Cedar Fair. If you want to experience that hill of Kingda Ka then go ride Kingda Ka AND STOP WHINING. Y'all as bad as women always complaining about nonsense.

In my opinion next to each enthusiasts name we need their top 5 favorite coasters. That way we can see what they seem as "GOOD."

I think like other terrible names (hello Iron Gwazi) we’ll adjust to it and move on, but I agree it makes good marketing sense. Idk if there was enough space to put a true airtime hill, but I kinda wish they took out the spiral for a straight drop as I think it would’ve been much better. Does that make financial sense? Hell no, but hey we can all dream right?

I don't understand why they wouldn't go for the height record. They should have just made a 470-500-foot spike, with an airtime hill on the launch track. That way the weaker third launch due to the extended spike wouldn't be so boring. I can't imagine that change would be that much more expensive, and considering how important the height record is I don't know why they would pass up that opportunity.

@@The_MenraC Wind? How would that be a problem that they dont already have. And it cant be that much more to increase the spike by 12%. Plus, earning the height record must earn them a ton of money. Its easily the most important record to have.
Waste all that money when Falcons flight will shit on it anyway😂
@@JJJJ-he8bz Millenium force was an entire coaster built for the height record and it lost it in a couple of months by steel dragon 2000. Top thrill dragster the original had its record stolen in 2 years, which will most likely be shorter than the time it takes to open falcons flight. And these were entire coasters built for the record rather than a small adjustment to their already existing modification of an already built coaster.
Because they are a business, not planet coaster. 99% of the people who are going to ride it could care less if it continues to be the 2nd tallest coaster. Return on investment is a major factor in decisions. Coaster enthusiasts wish lists are not. And a 12% increase in spike height means a much beefier support system beginning at the ground level. That 12% height increase isn't a 12% price hike, it would almost double what they are already spending.
Disappointed with lack of improvement in the boring straight track layout. A formula 1 race track design would of been great and felt like a roller coaster vs cookie cutter impulse coaster
I don’t really care because I’m realistically never going to go to Cedar Point until I graduate. I’m praying that Six Flags doesnt do this to Ka

Wow, it's a shame that you had to frame your logical and practical reasoning as "controversial". I mean, I thought you had some of the more reasonable and level-headed perspectives about this than I've seen so far. Everyone is complaining about what the ride isn't (or what THEY wanted it to be) and not paying enough attention about what the ride is.
Even the lack of airtime hill, in my opinion isn't too much of a loss to me as it would inevitably make the ride longer, make the project more expensive, and might make the Kingda Ka comparisons too direct if that makes sense.
If people didn’t do those concepts even though they were cool all of these complaints I don’t think would exist maybe a few

Seems like a slightly better version of Sunday the Ride, with forceless as frick launches! I would be even more disappointed if Intamin made it because we know what they are capable of when it comes to launched coasters. Zamperla is totally going to screw this up. Oh and the name sucks.
