    EMC rules!
    Hey Marine leadership: I hope you're proud of yourself. So many people will want to enlist after we all witnessed how you reward talented, creative and positive soldiers.

      1. Soldiers are in the Army.
      2. They are MARINES first. Talent is one thing, but if you don't fit the mold. Great player but overweight? Great player but can't pass the Physical Fitness Test? Bye, now.
      3. You can't even use government office supplies (envelopes, pens, etc) for your personal use. How is a bass drum different? He wasn't kicked out; he was told of the restrictions he'd have to follow and decided that his showing off was more important than his military service.

      @@davidwarner3326 lol music comes first for the drum and bugle corps and he made way more money on yt than the usmc so he went with what rewarded him more. Stop pooping on a world class musician.

    And they snare line was actually clean 🧼 but they didn’t really move much xP

    • @davidwarner3326
      @davidwarner3326 2 года назад +1

      The actual drum and bugle corps is around 80 members. A number of years ago, they cut down on those in the drill so that everyone fit on one plane (nothing like having to bus home or wait for the same plane that took most of the unit home to come back for the you) and to allow for more alternates.

    Since COL Truman W. Crawford's time, the US Marine D & B Corps has played a modern, well-arranged repertoire. The "Stars and Stripes" intro', illustrates some of COL Crawford's work. As far as the horns the Marines play, the story I heard was this. The corps will use specially made Kanstul, two valve, "G" horns.This is Commandant's guidance. If they were to go to three valve B flat trumpets, they would become a part of the "President's Own", The Marine Band. If this is not so, would someone correct me. COL Crawford was the horn instructor of the Yankee Rebels Alumni Corps. He was the drum major of the Yankee Rebels competing senior corps when they won three American Legion National Championships in 1960, '70 and '71.

    • @richpaull7820
      @richpaull7820 2 года назад

      That isn't correct. They have so far been contractually obligated to play G bugles, but that could change at any point whenever they are budgeted the $ for a new batch of horns. They just recently got a new batch (3 valve), but the manufacturer is now BAC since Kanstul went under. In theory, the next new set could be in Bb/F if the Commanding Officer decides to go that direction.

      @@richpaull7820 Thanks for this information. I'm told that a large number of the Marine D & B Corps members come from DCI corps which play three valve Bb/F horns. The DCI corps require auditions and fees up front to join. They bring a high degree of talent to the Marine Corps.

    I've watched many D&B Corps videos. To my chagrin it's mostly drums doing cadence and very little music with the brass segment (bugles).

  • @grimdarksandwich66

    They’re great. Would love to see them pick up another dozen horns. Their brass are pipe hitters and playing bugles, but undersized. To their credit, the unit balances the drums to that relatively small hornline very tastefully. It CAN be done!

      See the response above. The drum and bugle corps is about 80 members total. Not everyone marches in the drill 100% of the time. There are still buglers in DC standing duty and playing Taps for funerals.

    Just to be honest now the United States drum and bugle corps is actually separate from the United States Marine Corps band. Do United States Marine Corps band doesn’t do much marching but of course they have a drum major.
