this song is a mix of sadness and revolutionary hope

Sad fact:
This was one of the last songs to be written in the USSR since it was written sometime between 1988 and 1990 during the ending of the cold war.
It hits harder when you know that their citizens at the time knew their country won't last long due to the reforms Gorbachev made including the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe.
Gorby was just a logical conclusion of the revisionism that started with Khrushchev, blame Khrushchev and his clique lol

Yeah, that's one of the issues I found with it.
The artwork somehow makes the song sadder.
