Wow! The ecoflow is better in every possible way including it's cheaper! As a person who buys only Ryobi battery tools I'm disappointed in their quality and their false advertising. The ecoflow delivered a little more than advertised and the Ryobi delivered quite a bit less than advertised and the Ryobi is more expensive. Thank you for the good testing.

Great video. Kind of hard to beat the EcoFlow. I just purchased the Delta 2 during prime day at a phenomenal price of $679. I think that this is a game changer for using around the house for yard work and other projects. It powered my 15 amp skill saw without skipping a beat. So much easier trimming the hedges without having to lug a 100 ft extension cord.

I learned pretty quickly with my ECO Flo that it can only put out so much amperage. You will notice running 2 small heaters at once it will run them, but the heat output from the 2 heaters won’t be so hot.
I love my Bluetti Power Station but my ECO Flow is hands down my favorite 😍.
Mine is 1612 Watts and it is hands down amazing 🤩! When I started a couple years ago in solar and a power station I went Bluetti. If I knew what I knew now? I’d have gone ECO Flow all the way! The features, durability and reliability are just the best in my eyes 👀. ❤

Cleary in this lineup EcoFlow wins. The products are targeting vary different consumers. Ryobi has come out with at least 8 different inverters in the past few years. This inverter has the batteries integrated; but the others use tool batteries, 40 volt or 18 volt. Those products are very interesting as consumers already have the tool batteries for other reasons. Ryobi is targeting a different user and a different use; I expect Ryobi will be around for a few more rounds and will see more improvements. I would like to see Ryobi integrate all the batteries styles into one inverter, that is exapandable, wall mountable, and also has storage, solar and charging capabilities for the batteries. I use the Ryobi tools. I have a couple of the smaller Ryobi inverters, which come in handy for a light, fan or running the cable modem in a power outage. I got my mother an EcoFlow, for power outages. Given Ryobi's experience with power tools; they might win this in the long run.

What size is the breaker on the Ecoflow? I noticed that the Ryobi has 15amp outlets, and the ecoFlow has 20 amp outlets. This would makes sense with how they are rated. A 15amp outlet is a 1800watt outlet, but you can only use 1600watts for longer than 15 minutes without tripping the breaker. Similarly a 20amp outlet is 2400watts, but you can only use 1920watts for longer than 15minuts or it'll trip. I suspect that difference in approach as far as stated specs between the two companies stems from Ecoflow selling to consumers and ryobi, and its parent company, selling to tradesmen, or aspiring to anyway.

Ryobi overrates the wattage on all their inverters. I knew this was the case on this too. The manual for the 40v "power station" states what the actual wattage is in the manual - 1600w. This is also the case with the 800w 18v inverter - 600w in the manual.

Turns out. Both. Both were correct.
I guess Ryobi may win at being more dust or impact resistant? It sure looks the part. But. Maybe not. I'm not mistreating my delightful Ecoflow river thingy to find out if it is. The plastic feels okay but can't imagine it being brought to a construction site without a protective case.

So at that point you're comparing a 3200 watt station against an 1800 watt.

Hi Charles, here’s a video I think might help you especially wanting to run a high-powered device like a microwave. Take a look at this video. I probably would recommend the Delta Max. This is a great power station. They did come out with a newer model, but it actually cost a lot more and they both are very similar except for the battery technology, I’ll give you another link on the bottom if you want to check out the Delta 2 max but check out this comparison I really believe the Delta max would be great for you and it’s also expandable down the road

often times, the ecoflow goes on sale for around $700 or even better, which makes the ryobi at $1200 not make any sense.
    The Ecoflow Delta2 has
    USB-PD 100W vs Ryobi's USB-PD 60W
1800W AC running vs 1600W AC running

I really like Ryobi products, but this one isn't a winner, especially when it's close to twice the price of the Echoflow on sale.
They really need to build the charger into the unit and drop the price. I don't have a big issue with the 1,600 watts. You aren't going to run anything long-term at high wattage on a battery bank, and almost no single 120v aplance draws more than 1600 watts continuously.

There needs to be standardized measurements on all the batteries and all the features. Advertising it as an 1800 W when it tops out at 1600 W should be illegal. Also, all of generator batteries I've seen seem to exaggerate the total capacity. That is, they don't mention that they're going to be energy loss going from DC to AC, or the energy loss when charging from AC to DC. The battery capacity advertised may be correct, but the amount of power that can be used is less than the battery capacity. So, if it says it says 1 kWh of capacity, it really only has about 0.8 kWh of usable battery storage. I have only done AC output on the Ecoflow Delta Pro, so I don't know how much is lost on direct DC powering or charging.

The lithium Ion batteries in the Ryobi are far superior to the LFP batteries in the Delta. The NMC batteries should last far longer and with less efficiency losses, and much lighter. That is where the value differs. The Delta is better engineered, though quite long in the tooth now. If the Ryobi used the cheaper batteries like the Delta it would likely be closer to $600 MSRP.

Calling a built in power supply an advantage is misleading and a singular point of view. Having an external power supply allows for an easy replacement in case of a failure, where as a built in one requires disassembly. Additionally, the Ryobi states that it can show you output wattage from its app, why is that point not brough up???

  • @aday1637
    @aday1637 4 месяца назад

On the ecoflow, if you are powering your wifi with it, and you do an update, it kills the wifi and thus the update. There is no pass through either, even though ecoflow swears it has that. If you plug it into the wall and plug a device into it, the battery powers the device not the incoming grid power. And that means when you are using it, the batteries will often require a charge with high speed fan noise that accompanies the battery charge up. There are other gliches as well such as frequent failures where the entire unit just stops working and anything plugged in goes dead. Ask me how I know all this. I've contacted ecoflow service and they have no answers. Just rhetoric. There has to be some brand more reliable than either one of these two. I'm in the market but will only spend my money on a reliable replacement for all my ecoflows which are presently turned off and are merely bricks.
