- This is the final third of the British Rail route training video no. 236 - Tonbridge to Hastings. It covers the journey from Crowhurst to Hastings via St Leonard's.
The legal bit:
This is a non- commercial British Rail training video. I post it here purely for the interest of enthusiasts. British Rail as an entity no longer exists.
I assume they filmed this at something like 5am in high summer, as there's so few interruptions!
Looking at these videos, I have to say that the Train Simulator version of this route is very well simulated. I like the fact this video didn't keep stop starting, at nearly every signal, like others I have watched.
Note: This video was recorded when Costa Del Hastings had a proper c1930s Southern Railway Station.
But it was a scruffy untidy jumble and had been for a while!
Recall this looking like this only too well. Sadly it all went downhill when they closed St Leonards TMD - the Connex years were awful, and then the SouthEastern years were worse. Glad I'm finished with it !
No audible In - Cab AWS indications ???
Good grief! Look at all that litter at Hastings! I think we're all just more aware and caring about the environment than we were back then.
@@OlafProt. Do you still a bobble hat ,and glasses .
Great to see the old HCAT building again at 3:40
I would like to know which year this was recorded. Everywhere looks so filthy and dilapidated especially Hastings. I hope things have been improved since? Than you this has been very interesting to watch.
1989, it says at the end.
Hastings Station has been substantially refurbished since then.
