- I love the Final Fantasy 13 Trilogy, but seems like a lot of people hate those games, so in this video I find out why it garnered so much disgust over the years

Personally I loved Lightning Returns but I never played 13-2, so that might by why! I’ll definitely be going back and revisiting it after seeing this video, always love your refreshing takes!
I couldn't freaking understand why people dissed XIII given it's entire flow is EXACTLY like FFX. Go back and look at it... FFX was also Linear before it went Open. FFX had a Sphere grid system. FFX story plot is basically following fate then defying it. FFX had controlling ONE AEON in a fight. Now compare that up to FFXIII. You'll find that it's just that SIMILAR. So... the divisive thing... I don't understand.... because FFXIII by flow is exactly like FFX with simplified systems and a compelling story. XIII is really good. I just wish people saw it that way.
Yea I actually enjoyed the 13 trilogy, sure I can look back at it with more cynicism now, but back then it was top tier and new (plus I’m hella FF fanboy and can generally find something to enjoy about each) - but graphically it was amazing and the story of 13 was pretty dope..
but yea it’ll always be ‘devisive’ because some will enjoy it for what it is and others won’t..
it’s always better to just play something urself, and formulate ur own opinion.
13 2 is my favorite final fantasy and it does so much to widen 13s world! The soundtrack is just sooo good!

I never played any of the sequels, but I actually didn't think 13 was a bad game. It was in a lot of ways very similar to FF10, just very stripped down and yeah the storytelling was sometimes all over the place and Lightning probably shouldn't have been the main character. But I did have a decent amount of fun with it and that's because I decided to wait until the hate train ate itself and moved on before playing it myself.
Lightning returns was the worst ff game I played. Part 2 was alright . i kinda enjoyed it, part 1 was awful but decent at some parts. It just wasn’t a good overall trilogy
Curiously 2 is the one I can't stand. The two for me are fun games ruined by the plot

13-2 i hate everything about it's story, characters are two dimensional and the pc port sucks balls. (Great ost tho)
And LR has my favorite gameplay loop + a good story, even if it isn't the main focus of the game. So i love 13 and LR but dislike 13-2
@@shunkun8668 13-2 OST is PHENOMENAL. Out of the 3 it's the one I listened to the most. It's just like you said. I can't tolerate the plot. I like the universe of the trilogy and don't mind the plot that much, but I can't say I enjoy it like a good story. Fun games like I said, definitely overhated.
