ANDREW, these are the lyrics fie the MOTN video. Why were they changed FOR the video? Also, I always wanted to ask either you or Hal about another difference between the video and the show. Here, when she faints in the video Erik catches her and scoops her up to set her inside the boat. But, in the show why does.she just collapse into the floor? It would've been doubly romantic if Michael also scooped her up on stage. What was the reason for the difference and why not in the show? Finally, there is NO way I'll EVER be able to thank you enough for choosing MICHAEL for this! After all his stage work,.and really his entire repertoire of work from stage and screen did make him the best choice, but his voice! Nothing on Steve Harley,.but his voice was not right and I don't believe he had enough acting chops and MICHAEL was already a beast in the theatre! So, I not only curse you for choosing my Cornelius and P.T. Barnum, but love you dearly for it as well. He really IS an Angel of Music, and you're an angel for having him! Your Phlorida Phan! 😘
Michael Crawford was NOT the original singer of The Music Of The Night or any of the songs sung by the Phantom. Before it was at the West End in London in 1986, The Phantom Of The Opera was at the Sydmonton Festival Workshop in 1985, where the Phantom was played by Colm Wilkinson.
He hold that last note of song which demonstrates his power.
