I don't understand why it is so hard to split playlists in a category for Social, Ranked and rotational and display a skill rank next to the ranked playlists. The whole playlist UI is such a mess it feels like a placeholder

@@HiveQu33n Because Infinite runs on a different engine, that's where all the problems and lack of content stems from. The engine for infinite is a frankenstein monstrosity of the blam engine and 343's attempt at the slipspace engine. Not to mention everyone who worked on designing said engine no longer works at 343 due to being rotating contractors.

They needed to add more social features and pre and post game lobbies to save this game IMO. The social aspects were always the core of the multiplayer, now you can solo que a dozen BTB games and never hear another person on a mic aside from some psycho screaming about how bad everyone is.

I've been playing since it launched. Not daily or even weekly. Just when I can. I feel like it's been worth playing but there's more content now and improvements have been made over time.
I played all of season 1 and first two months of season 2 then made the decision to come back when I feel it’s ready to avoid hating the game but burn out was real. I did pay attention to the forge launch and season 3 looked interesting, played specifically during the season 3 events but right now, Season 4 with all the content currently in the game, yeah it’s worth playing and it’s fun. I understand the frustration with 343i but the game itself is fun and that’s all that really matters to me
As soon as i seen there is no progression system when the game launched i knew it was gonna die. I don’t know how you launch a halo game without progression makes zero business and logical sense

sadly i uninstalled the game again last night. this game is just annoying. franchise is done, lets be real.
The UI is so bad they have multiple slayer gametypes all over the place but took out the fun ones even taking out bot bootcamp again so they never learn their lessons.
This is all great I think it’s just too little too late. There’s not much of a player base anymore. As much as I want to play the new season, I’m Aussie and the only playlist I can find games that aren’t 300+ ping is quick play and it gets very frustrating very quickly having high ping match after match

Lol. Recently like...two weeks ago, Halo Infinte's average Halo Infinte playerbase on Xbox was revealed to be like...13k per day. Also, if you have high ping, that's...likely you have dog-shit internet.
The problem is pretty much everyone hype this up, which dont get me wrong it is a solid update but it is just legacy features like this that doesnt attract any players bc you know its just a mode and a rank. Casual needs a new experience outside of pvp to comback to game, FireFight is a perfect opportunity but instead of relying on leaks i wish they themselves confirm that its coming in season 5.

I would prefer if halo would just strictly be about the campaign. Theres so much they can do. We can have several spin off games expanding the lore. Imagine playing as a san'shyuum prelate. It doesn't even have to be the same first person style gameplay either. Turn it into a hack and slash or something. Just give us something new and refreshing based on the lore.

Took me a while to realize that the first year of live service development was mostly focused on fixing the games code rather than content, reports show that they had what is called "spaghetti code" which is hard to work with, and apparantly their game editor which they used for making maps and game modes had a 75% chance of crashing, so they really had to sort all of those issues out before adding any real content to ensure more can be added in the long run.
I understand a lot of people are frustrated that it took this long, but I have actually done game dwvelopment for my freshman year, and it is HARD, sometimes code doesnt work for no reason, I cannot tell you how many times things have just not worked and not have any fix to them, I cannot imagine how hard that is working on the slipspace engine and on such a large scale project.
I understand what you're saying here, man, but at the same time comparing your freshmen year of college to a multi-billion dollar company that's been at this for a DECADE now is just not really the best comparison. 343 should have most of that stuff figured out to a 'T' and spaghetti code shouldn't even have been a thing BEFORE the game officially launched in 2021. The issue is how many contractors that they used to develop the game in the first place that lead to that mess of code where half the people working on the engine didn't fully know what they were doing with it because of how unfamiliar it was to them. This game is still a HUGE management blunder first and foremost. The code being spaghetti is still their fault for it being that way and I don't consider that a legitimate excuse at all.

And ofc contractors are worse when you make a liveservice game, bc they leave and somebody just starts working, they don't know what that pervious person wrote, bc poeple use diffrenet strings to identify values (in programming). So yeah, I blame on MS for not letting 343 to hire permanent staffs.

@@Jaymez2012 ye it's kinda not fair for the new management cuz they have to deal with the mess the past guys made, seriously, look it up, the entire management team for 343 as well as most of the key positions have been replaced, they are practically a new studio, the only people that have remained the same are the coders who are paid to code in whatever management tells them to.
Dudes you now need to realize 343 is still trying to fix this thing or they have accepted the broken state it's in.
I played 2-3 matches with a friend in Ranked Slayer and I was just... done. It's not Halo. Ugly, bland UI. Players fly around the map with lightning speed. Soulless maps that feel like something out of Blacklight Retribution or another futuristic free shooter from the early days of PS4. Hitboxes and hit detection on enemies are so small that it feels like you're shooting at hyperactive sticks instead of these giant spartans. Lacking customization. Everything I learned playing Halo 1-2-3-Reach with a friend on MCC just doesn't work. I don't understand how they spent $500 mil to develop this.

Halo Infinite will NEVER be worth playing because every update at this point is nothing more than damage control. It's not passion for the game, it's scrambling to get players back.
At least with Halo 5 you could feel SOME passion from each update, but with Infinite, it feels like the devs are jingling keys infront of they players faces, and the sad part is it is fucking working.

I'd like to really try out the new season, but ever since the update, the game's been giving me issues. The game's always had technical issues on PC, but it was relatively solid for the Winter Update and Season 3, but when I got season 4, the game would crash before even entering the title screen. Contacted Halo Support about it, they told me that downloading the Hi-Res Texture Pack might fix the issue, and it did. Sucks that 13-14 GB of storage space is being used for something I can't even take advantage of with my PC specs, but whatever. I then ran into another issue; the game's framerate is super choppy, despite it never having this issue before in prior seasons, and none of my video settings being changed. Told the Halo Support person "Installing the texture pack fixed the crashing, but now my game runs poorly" and was told to create a brand new ticket, instead of the Halo support person just opening up a new ticket for me. Annoying, but I did it, and got a message back with the new person asking for gameplay footage of this happening. Recorded it, uploaded it to RUclips unlisted, and sent them the link, as requested. That was yesterday, and if the view count on the video is anything to go by, they haven't even watched the video yet. It's one thing to have the game in the state it's in, but to make people jump through hoops to try to get the game to even work, only for all that hoop-jumping to not mean jack shit is fucking pathetic.
I have gotten into the game again because of infection, but just like before I will stop playing the game due to getting bored of it. And Halo Reach, Halo 3 had better infection.
So idk why, but I grinded onyx in slayer lmao. Anyways how do you feel about this season?

bot bootcamp was removed because you could grind career rank easily with it so they’re changing the personal score for it and then it’ll come back

Ok but with all the other issues, 343 thought someone playing 7000 games of bots was the thing they had to fix immediately. Not actual cheating, or the servers, or anything. Well, maybe if the shop was bugged that would get a same day response too.
Honestly infection is just too little too late. We still only have one new gun and four new maps after almost two years is absolutely unacceptable when every other halo before this objectively did far more by this point.
The fact that mcc has almost double the players also points to how dead infinite is(I wouldn’t be surprised if halo 5 could be tied with infinite in terms of players). The turning point for this game came and went with forge. Anyone who still believes that this game can come back at this point in time, I’d say is positively delusional.
If Arrash and co did another state of halo, this is what I would say if I ended up somehow being part of it(I’d love to personally).

On xbox it went from 25th to 24th place. players play this season More mk11, it ain't much but it's honestly a step in the right direction.

No, unfortenutely it is not worth playing due to horrible desync and other issues. Just tried playing team slayer, what an unbelievable shit show. Some power weapons don't work or a rocket launcher that just shoots through players, shots don't register and other issues. But that seems to be the norm in this game, especially if you're outside of the US. I could go on, but after 3 times I just left as usual. The only time desync decreases is in the middle of the night, it's disgusting.
Damn, was kinda stoked for ranked team slayer due to Bandit starts. Yeah, the AR has been over tuned for a long time now. I’ve been saying this for a long time as well “343 DO NOT UNDERSTAND THEIR OWN SANDBOX.” Remember how Team Snipers launched in Infinite?! I rest my case lol.

bandit starts is fine, just ar/bandit feels redundant. also, behemoth now spawns enemies closer to you to keep action going but its too chaotic because the map is too open when they spawn so close to you
i think the flood mode will be a worthy season.
Until they buff the bandit, there's no reason not to just use AR or Grab a sidekick

Aside from the known Halo RUclipsrs and Pros, virtually the only people left playing this train wreck of spaghetti code are small time, wannabe streamers who rely on EngineOwning to help them create their echo chamber content. The fact 343 can't comprehend that desync is tied directly to cheat software running in tandem with, and bogging down server connections is fucking hilarious. Even funnier than the fact they've simply given up on even attempting to debug and improve the anti-cheat system they swear up and down is running in this abysmal mess of a proprietary engine catastrophe 🤣

I started playing again the other day and I noticed that the frame rate seems worse then when it released.
I just don't care for this version of infection.
They increased the weighting on Scarr in BTB but I still barely get it

I updated halo infinite to play season 4 and ever since I did that the game has crashed on me three times. Is anyone else experiencing any game crashes ? I’m about ready to just give it up.

I stopped playing regularly after season one, and only played a few times during season 2. I'm just tired of it all. The shitty challenges. The incessant grind for the battle pass. Cosmetics we can't grind for, locked behind bundles and the store. Everything I hate about live service games on display in halo. It doesn't make it worth playing to me.
Halo died with 343 all the way back in halo 4. Yall gotta accept it and move on

I'm a social player but... why AR starts in ranked?? Makes 0 sense... I do like dabbling in ranked 1 time a year but why??
Agree with everything, except for the ranked slayer.
1. Bandit starts are better than BR starts. The Infinite BR is the most powerful BR across all the Halos by a country mile. An average player can cross map with it effectively with high accuracy. This is a problem. This causes the gameplay to be too teamshot heavy, slows down gameplay because nobody wants to move, offers no outplays, and reduces effectiveness of all the power weapons. The reduced range of the bandit makes the gameplay similar to Halo 3’s BR where crossmapping is extremely rare outside of the absolute best players. This allows you to move around the map, have 1v1 fights with outplay ability, and makes the sniper rifle and stalker rifle feel like actual power weapons because you’re not getting descoped crossmap constantly by the infinite BR.
2. The slayer rank glitch while frustrating is not gamebreaking bad as you say. Halo 2 and 3 everyone started at level 1 and had the same issue of bad players getting dominated at the early ranks during a rank reset and by smurf accounts, but that ranking system is more rewarding than infinite’s system where above average players start at Diamond 5 only 2 ranks from max rank. Besides, the issue is fixed now and as the season rolls along the ranks will even out where everyone is placed where they should be.
3. 4 stacking is a WAY bigger issue in Arena due in part to point 1 I made. Also with the extremely low player count the only way to get to Onyx now in Arena is to be exceptional at the game or be in a 4 stack. No above average player is reaching Onyx in Arena now without 4 stacking. I grinded for a good month in season 3 and BARELY got into Onyx and nearly got demoted back to D6 due to running into constant 4 stacks. But I quit before that happened. Lol
Totally fair. Settings are a preference thing. I would say I’d also prefer just bandits. I just find the AR spam a bit boring
I miss halo dearly. The only games I would play is halo 3 or reach. I re downloaded Mcc to play and it was just awful. Played on Xbox and pc took 10 minutes to get a lobby and half the team was afk or had 0 idea how to play.
I completely dropped Halo infinite and have been having such a ball with MCC, 343 had so many years to get Infinite right, but whatever it may be its a he said she said situation and at this point I don't care, they fucked up so they should own up to it and just stop ruining Halo and give it to a more competent dev team

Damn i sorta like forest. I think it actually makes strongholds play well and I hate that mode. Scarr is definitely fire. And hey now, I dont think argyle is that bad but I certainly don't enjoy ranked CTF on it
It'll never be worth playing for a few core reasons. Game modes still lack, playlists arnt split into ranked and spcial, custom games,are still messed up, desync still an issue, free to play customization leads to the game looking straight memey unintentionally to make items worth buying, sandbox still really hasnt been improved woth better weapons and meutral equipment outside of the smokescreen. Removal of any community fueled tactics like skill jumping on maps. These are the main reaaons i refuse to play infinite. The game is barwly what it shouldve been at launch.
I am so uninterested in Infinite. I don't care about any of the armor because you have to buy it all. I'll pass. It's the only Halo I've never purchased 🙄
@Arrrash 343 didn't lost a bunch of employee's because their game was under-performing. That...doesn't make sense. Microsoft had to fire various employee's from a handful of different game companies. Some of those being Bethesda and Activision, along with 343.

How? It's beautiful, and there is teleporter in middle of it and plays like semi btb maps in older games.
Think about it this way and everything will get put into perspective. It’s 2007 Halo 3 launches in a broken state. Missing features, content, game is broken. Bungie drip feeds content, and fixes to the game all the way up to summer of 2008. Nearly 2 years into Halo 3 and we are practically away from the launch of ODST 2009 and the Reach 2010. Did we even truly get a chance to enjoy halo 3?
Now we move back to 2023… how do we find ourselves 15+ years later and a company can not make the game work right at launch. Populations won’t wait years for a fix. Halo infinite and halo in general can not be made with the intention of playing one game for like 10 years, and the logic then being that we will add and fix things along the way and people will be happy. It’s a damn shame that whatever is left of the Halo population.. we are it. Because I’ll tell you, 2007-2010 were great times. Millions of people across the planet loved Halo 3 but it’s no wonder why it did so well. Look at the package that we were offered.

That's the thing, Halo 5 was praised for its multiplayer during its lifepspan, and rightfully so, it's a great MP game. The sandbox is still so effing fun!

Nope. Not to the majority of us at least. If you use a controller and rely on aim assist, then this game has always been perfect. But if those people aren't enough to keep the game alive then they might as well just unplug it because everybody else spits on this game.
Halo Infinite is so trash, I am so annoyed to be a Halo fan right now. I will just be stuck playing MCC until the next Halo game because I refuse to play a Live-Service Halo Game. I wish they ported Halo 5 to PC because I believe that was one of the most re-playable Halo Multiplayer ever.
Infinite should be scrapped, Halo needs to be given to another studio and start from scratch. Everything 343 has done has failed, never had an inkling of success.

Infection is pretty well balanced but the game plays EXACTLY the same, there's no new content apart from some cosmetics (half of which are in the store). It's not refreshing at all, its stale. Hope they just abandon it and move on to something else they can actually deliver on because they're just trying to squeeze as many pennies out of this game as they can before it dies out for good.

This is the worst take I think I've seen, yet. Infection is great and it doesn't even play the same as legacy Infection. Sounds like you just don't need to play if you hate it that much, but don't remove quality content from the game just cause it's something you don't enjoy. Obviously, at least 1000 people like it cause it brought that many back, if only temporary.
Forest is an FFA map that focuses on movement over positioning; I guarantee you that it will play well with ranked FFA (which more maps like this are sorely needed, as the FFA experience in this game is complete ass)

I can't deal with the whining like the update wasn't good. Ofc some bugs appeared, its 343. That doesnt change the fact that the new maps are bangers, infection is great (dont care how you feel about the AI, turn the volume off or dont play), and the new armor is sick. Fuck the haters, im hype af

@@murkadelic422 that's fair, but saying what you said doesn't really help anything unfortunately, all it would do is enrage people further. Or at least annoy them. Or if they're reasonable they'll leave it well enough alone.
I do get being tired of seeing people be upset, but please keep in mind that most of these people grew up with halo. 343 is definitely incompetent, I mean, how can you manage to f**k up 3 games in a series, and continue to screw over the franchise? And these failures don't just harm halo, it harms Xbox as a whole.
If you ask me, there is legitimately no reason to buy a Xbox and I'm saying this as a person who grew up with Xbox and halo when I was 6. Back then you bought a Xbox for gears of war, and halo, and mass effect.
But all 3 is basically dead now. Gears of war is now microtransaction filled, with a bad line up of games after 4, (imo). Mass effect I think is dead, the last real release was Andromeda and we both know how that ended. And finally halo, the real only savior of Xbox is now dead as well, seeing as 3, consistently bad games (except 4, I did like 4, but it honestly was not like halo, or looked like it) 5 continued the art style and also doubled down on it, and infinite took over 2 years just to get infection. Ridiculous!
Conclusion: it's fair to be annoyed by constant negativity, but we must see the reason for it. I'm sure you know all of this. It's just seeing the "fuck the haters" doesn't look like you know why. I'm saying this as a person who loved the originals, and liked 5, I don't think 5 is the worst game in existence, it made awful choices, yes, but it's not bad. Only the story lol.
