Open to being educated if something was not handled appropriately lets engage in a dialogue.
Like I literally just can’t take certain guys on games anymore... there’s so much sexism and inappropriate ‘jokes’ and awful phrases told to me. Idc if you tell me to wash the dishes it’s just some things go too far. To the point where I wanna stop gaming forever, even though it’s my only comfort. I’m told everyday females just can’t be as good as guys at games which makes absolutely no sense to me so thank you for sheading light on this ❤️
Wow this comment legitimately made me sad. This is such a crappy experience. I have Ps4, Xbox One, Nintendo switch, and now PS5. I would gladly hop on somme coop/competive play with you if we have some mutual games we partake in. Send me your gamertag, i'll add you. Thank you for showing how real this issue is and how it impacts people.
@@entercheatcode1844 yeah, and just tysm for shedding some light on this because I feel like a lot of people just don’t understand the topic. And you spoke up about It perfectly where most guys probably wouldn’t have said anything.
Love the Spiderman qoute at the end ❤
Thank you for caring its nice to see.
Appreciate you taking the time to watch and your kind words!
And because of all that harassment I've never played games that I know are full of guys, just so I don't have to deal with that, I stay in my corner of soft games and NEVER go online or mic on on any game I play, I wouldn't want to deal with it
I’m sorry that is the reality of your experience. Really is disheartening to hear.
There is nothing wrong with girl gamers we are all human and if they like gaming they like gaming it's not your problem.
It’s a shame some people feel so inclined to treat female gamers with such disgust and hostility.
Thanks for making this. I just found it. Will share with others.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch this. It is an important issue that needs to be crushed out. You have an ally in me. Thank you for spreading the word, sharing this link would mean the world to me. I feel like this is one of my most important projects so thank you so much.
@@entercheatcode1844 aw Well I can say someone like me (who went through gamergate as girl gamer going into cosplaying) finally the harrassment was dying off a bit, when this blizzard lawsuit occured, I was afraid most men would take their side. It's really great to see you guys make videos in support of us. ❤️ We all really appreciate it. This was a good video! You say in it that you wish you would have understood the gravity of this issue sooner; have you thought about making a video on how you got here to the point you felt this was so important to make? ❤️ You're doing a great job.
@@BattyNeko thank you. That’s actually a great idea I will consider. Stay strong and continue following your passion. I really am hoping this will be a catalyst for change.
Use to be like i don't care about this crap i just play games but its getting harder and harder to just play games with all the bad crap going on and ignore it. I'm not even sure i can do any thing about it
I initially felt the same way. We can all do something with the bare minimum being DONT engage in it obviously, but I think we need to shut it down, and stop supporting devs who creates environments as we learned about at activision. It really is a sad and despicable state of affairs. I agree.
We will continue to cover this as more develops and all things games related. Hope I can encourage you to sub.
As soon as you show any sign of taking offense of absolutely *ANYTHING* in a video game lobby, you lose. Not giving a fuck is the best thing you can do. 🤷♂️
Unfortunately this seems accurate. Considering the average age of game is well into adulthood it’s a shame.
It goes further for me than just turning off the microphone, attitudes towards girl gamers has just driven me away from online gaming all together. It’s a shame that I feel cornered in to single player offline games because gaming should be a shared experience for everyone.
This is really a shame, things need to change. Gaming is the most toxic and gatekept hobby that exists. The culture needs to change.
A girl has the same potential to get good at video games as a man does. It's not like sports where men are inherently better preforming for physical reasons.
Girls are some of the most elite players. I don’t think gender matters in gaming ability. That’s a sill notion.
I clicked this video by accident And I don’t regret it you just Gained a subscriber 🥰😊
I am so happy to have earned you as a sub, and I hope to continue to put out content that you enjoy. Thank you for your kind words, and especially for taking the time out of your busy day to watch my video.
@@entercheatcode1844 No problem ☺️😊👍
It's funny how you mention some girls keep their mics off. I don't use voice chat even when it's available because it's too toxic and I'm a guy! If Splatoon 2 had voice chat I still wouldn't use it! Maybe that's why so many females are drawn to Splatoon...or it could just be the art style.
Damn I get this type of stuff everyday and I fucking hate it, I even once snapped my game disc that I spent a lot of money on bc I couldn’t even play it bc I constantly would get TKed and not able to play
I’m so sorry that your experience has been as described. Really is such a crappy thing to hear.
I really thought this link was gonna be that "never give you up" Song
31 people know their history
I don’t have a problem with girl gamers cause I play games with a girl
Gender should just be a non-issue in gaming. So glad to see that you partake in gaming with all different groups of people. Game should be the most pure and inclusive form of entertainment.
3 guys got their feelings vindicated and got hit by the virtual door on the way out 😂
We’re up to 4!!! 😆
Activision is now Gamergate
no but the parallels between gamergate and the mistreatment of woman at Activision-Blizzard do exist.
This has always been a problem and I’m glad developers and the community are moving in the right direction. I know it’s not going away anytime soon but every day we can be better. Gaming like dancing for me has never been about men vs women. It’s just a medium to be enjoyed. I’ve had my ass kicked by women online and they outplayed me, that’s all. I also have a woman as squadmate in Gears and I can tell you that the second anyone gets out of line w her we put the brakes on that immediately. I have to many (lady) gamers (I don’t like girl gamer) friends to let they shit fly.
Thank you so much for your contribution to the discussion. I appreciate your comments. I to get bodied in games by all kinds of people regardless of gender. IM JUST BAD lol bring on Gears!
I agree with some points but I feel like the video attempted to cover to many topics as a whole. When they are all their own separate issue. Adding the (gamergate) on the end just seemed extra. An the point about the question of journalistic integrity seemed largely ignored and more of a way to just point out what happened later that had nothing to do with actual gamergate. Also not stating that the evidence did show that the integrity of the story published by Kotaku was in fact compromised and was a direct conflict of interest. Which was released by parties directly involved and not from doxxing which took place later.
As for the interactions as it pertains to gaming with a mic or not and bad experiences. I feel like exclusively focusing on the negative interactions is part of the problem which is what this video does. I play with several female gamers who enjoy gaming as a whole and run into toxic people no more than any male counterpart does. A lot of communities this gets pointed out in are toxic in general and have nothing to do with being a female. Anyone who has gamed for long enough and who's interest is broad enough knows full well what communities this is often tied to. An I have seen first hand where females have been the toxic one in these communities. So I think if you want a better community as a whole then 1st step is acknowledging that toxic experiences are not exclusive to being a female player. An you should look at attempting to better the communities behavior as a whole and not just from one perspective.
I have seen people often vent about toxic communities and people not being nice. When they have just downloaded a competitive game jumped straight into ranked and have no idea what is going on. An wonder why their team is pissed off at them. When 99% of these games have areas for newcomers to practice in and get to know the game so you are not compromising the game for other players. So in this instance, the person thinks people just don't like them but their only real concern is the player dragging the team down by not going through the proper training first. If you want to join competitive communities that comes with a certain amount of responsibility on your part to at least understand how the game is played. However the player I mentioned attempted to blame the community when really it is them who is at fault. Not the example of gave is not a one off I have seen several gamers who are often streamers give this take an people who don't know the full situation always assume the individual is in the right.
Thank you so much for watching the video in its entirety, you raised several good points that I will consider in future videos, especially as it pertains to covering multiple perspectives. Thank you. I hope that we can earn you as a subscriber.
Look at the biggest female twitch streamers and you'll see why. Lol
What are you trying to say?
@@entercheatcode1844 just accept the fact that nothing will change 😂
@@ygu9425 what a terrible mentality to navigate life with, things have changed and will continue to. Unfortunately the rate at which it occurs is terribly slow. Complacent mindsets, a a “things will never change” mentality will ensure they don’t. Come on man, you have to believe we can do better. Look throughout history of Marginalized groups, many things have changed. Are we at a place we should be know, as previously mentioned change happens far too slowly. We must expect more, demand more, and bring that change into reality.
Nah I don't really care about female gamers tbh. They aren't good
I didnt really want to watch this video.
but.....?
Nicely edited video, but isn't all of this one giant strawman tho? I'm not sure how much time I want to spend addressing misinformation in the video because I don't expect my comment to last very long. "These types of behaviors plague women disproportionately higher than male counterparts", gonna need a source for that chief. It doesn't add up with the PEW research on online harassment. One thing to understand about Zoe Quinn is her own history of abuse, like doxxing and DDoS'ing devs she targeted as rivals like she did with TFYC and attempting to effect cancel culture against Tim Soret, and actually effecting cancel culture against Alec Holowka (read The Post Millennial articles about that one). So, everything you're saying about what's been claimed to have happened to Zoe, all of it needs to be taken with a giant grain of salt. People have worked with her who say she is prone to exaggeration and tall tails.
yoooo, thank you for watching and leaving your commentary, we are back to putting out content again! At least two videos a week covering all thing gaming in an unbiased fashion, I really hope that you will revisit the channel and join us. I'm not sure what discounting one particular example does for the conversation and overall message behind this video besides coming across as an attempt to muddy the waters. Its pretty easy to just stand against toxic behavior, call it out when you see it and maybe ask others for ways you can by an ally that might better our shared experiences. It looks like you're right to say Pew research (polling questions) shows more men felt harassed via gaming but I would push back on specifically the more toxic games and percentage of women who play them. Depending on the sources, I am seeing an 8-12 point gap between men and woman gamers as a whole but if you were to narrow to the more toxic games like a COD or CS having closer to 3 to 1 ratio of men to woman where as woman make up a higher percentage of casual and non pc/console gaming (sourced from venturebeat article on esports), then the numbers from the pew research still falls in line with aforementioned "disproportionality" against woman commentary.
So this is a bit of a tangent and nothing you were referring to: Sure both sexes get doxxed but I think less guys are fearful of the "showing up to the house to get raped" comments than girls are and further I feel like most SJW/Pro Woman extremists are calling for rape and murder less often than the "opposing view" so any both-sides stuff on this is false equivalency but i guess i dont have a specific citation to back that up so im stuck with good faith discussions and common sense.
